Race Reports

 

Race 1 – UBET TAPPY MAIDEN HEAT 1 – 331M

 

Rounding the turn out of the back straight, FAIRY WREN and CROCODILE TEARS were tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  ELITE JAX, SMELL THE CHEESE and SILENT CANNONS, which were trailing, were all checked as a consequence and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight, RENSHAW AVENUE and BAILOUT bump on a number of occasions. 

 

Race 2 – MARBURG HOTEL MAIDEN HEAT 2 – 331M

 

CROCODILE SMILE was slow to begin.  Entering the back straight, OUTLAW DONNY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  FAST JUDGEMENT and YAPPER BLISS, which were both trailing, were checked as a consequence and lost ground.  In the front straight during the latter stages of the race, ROSEAVILLA and MARCIE’S MEMORY collide.

 

Race 3 – GARRARD’S HORSE AND HOUND NOVICE (1) – 331M

 

MISTER MORK was slow to begin.  Entering the front straight, MISTER MORK improved onto the heels of POPPYCOCK, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground.  In the back straight, WILD CONNECTION was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight, WILD CONNECTION checked across heels and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight, SANDSHOE checked across heels and lost ground.  In the front straight, during the latter stages of the race, RUN MONTY RUN and REGAL REPORT collide.

 

The greyhound YAPPER BLISS underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 4 – JUST ASK JORDO NOVICE (2) – 331M

 

Entering the back straight, SWEET TALKING was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight, PENUMBRA shifted out and collided with YO YO LASS resulting in that greyhound to be checked and lose ground.  Rounding the turn into the front straight, FLYING COMET, YO YO LASS and CHARLIE’S BARBUN all collide, resulting in all greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground. 

 

Race 5 – THIRTY TALKS @ STUD MA5 – 331M

 

Entering the back straight, BLACKJACK BETTY, SWIFT HARBOUR and SPRING RUNNER were tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  In the back straight STAR RING commenced to give ground to finish a considerable distance from the remainder of the field.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight, SWIFT HARBOUR improved onto the heels of BLACKJACK BETTY, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground.

 

The greyhound STAR RING underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the near hind back muscle and was stood down for a period of 28 days.

 

Race 6 – TWITTER @ BRISGREYS BEST 8 – 331M

 

Leaving the back straight, REGAL TRAV improved onto the heels of FABULOUS WALL, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground.  I’M GLAD, which was trailing, was checked as a consequence and lost ground. 

 

Race 7 – EXPAT LODGE BOARDING KENNELS MIXED 4/5TH GRADE – 395M

Through the 1st turn, all runners, with the exception of ABELE and CRAZY EMJAY were tightened for racing room and checked to varying degrees.  Entering the back straight, MAKO MAC and INDIAN GIVER were both tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

 

The greyhound INDIAN GIVER underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the stomach muscle and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

Race 8 – BOX 1 PHOTOGRAPHY BEST 8 – 395M

 

Through the 1st turn, all greyhounds raced tight and were checked to varying degrees, with COMETRON FLYER being the worst affected.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight, ALBURY WAY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  COMETRON FLYER, which was trailing, was checked as a consequence and lost ground.

 

Race 9 – GREYHOUND ADOPTION PROGRAM 4TH GRADE – 331M

 

BERGARI and SANDLER were both marginally slow to begin.  Entering the back straight, LEGEND MAN was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight, HAY WILLIAM, BERGARI and SIGARLA MAN were all tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

 

Race 10 – FABERGAS @ METICULOUS LODGE 5TH GRADE (1) – 331M

 

HARRY’S LEGEND and SWEET KAOS were marginally slow to begin.  Entering the back straight, BONNY DOON GEE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight, ALWAYS ALBURY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  DOREAS, which was trailing, was checked as a consequence and lost ground. 

 

The greyhound ALWAYS ALBURY underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off side hock and was stood down for a period of 10 days,

 

Race 11 – SKY RACING 5TH GRADE (2) – 331M

 

Entering the back straight, SPANISH HARBOUR and WHO’S HOPE were both tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight, RAPID EFFECT and WE KNOW collide, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground.  MISS OSPREY raced wide for the majority of the event. 

 

Race 12 ZILLMERE SPORTS 5PW – 331M

 

Entering the back straight, GRUNGLE’S BRIDE MAN was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground, shortly after collided with SPUDTASTIC, resulting in both greyhounds to be severely checked and lose considerable ground. 

 

The greyhound GRUNGLE’S BRIDE underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.
