Race Reports

 

Race 1 – TERRY’S SIGN MAIDEN – 460M

 

OUR CAMBLA BOY and GEMINI FIVE were marginally slow to begin and bumped shortly after the starting causing both dogs to race wide into the first turn. Through the first turn LIGHTNING FLASH checked off heels of BOSS BOSS. OUR CAMBLA BOY and PAWTICIPATION checked exiting the second turn and raced wide down the home straight.

 

Race 2 – GREAT NORTHERN NOVICE – 460M

 

Even Start. Approaching the first turn LIKA PEREGRIN, KATHERINE’S MONEY, NANNY’S CHAR CHAR and WRITTEN IN RED all collide and check to varying degrees.

 

The greyhound NANNY’S CHAR CHAR underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 3 – PRIME REAL ESTATE 5TH GRADE (1) – 460M

 

Marginally slow was NICKOLUCKY. Entering the first turn NICKOLUCKY and CHARLM MISS checked causing CHARLM MISS to lose ground and took no further competitive part in the race. Entering the second turn NICKOLUCKY was tight for racing room and checked with SWEET PEARL also severely hampering the running of PAVLOVA CLOUD and LAGOON SCARLETT.

 

The greyhound NICKOLUCKY underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no injuries were found.

The greyhound CHARLM MISS underwent a post-race veterinary examination and found to have a muscle strain to RH shoulder. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

 

Race 4 – RAY EDWARD REAL ESTATE MIXED 4/5TH GRADE – 460M

 

Shortly after the start FLAMENCO GIRL, SPRING LOTTIE and BLITZEN BETTY were tight for racing room. Through the first turn MACQUIRE, LEISURE SEEKER and SPRING SHELLY collide causing LEISURE SEEKER to lose ground. Entering the second turn MACQUIRE checked off heels of LAST DRINKS. MACQUIRE raced wide for the remainder of the race.

 

Race 5 – UNCLE RUSTY’S PHOTOS RQ YOUNG GUNS OPEN HEAT 1 – 460M

 

SPRING RUSSELL was slow to begin. Through the first turn CAMBLA LALA was tight for racing room and checked off heels.

 

 

Race 6 - UNCLE RUSTY’S PHOTOS RQ YOUNG GUNS OPEN HEAT 2 – 460M

 

MADAM CAMBLA was slow to begin. Through the first turn MR. APOLLO shifted out and checked off heels of LIKA BRONSON. Through the second turn BETTA BE BUNDY checked off heels of CAMBLA CRUISER. GALLON OF CAMBLA and MADAM CAMBLA raced wide down the home straight.

 

Race 7 - UNCLE RUSTY’S PHOTOS RQ YOUNG GUNS OPEN HEAT 3 – 460M

 

CAMLA FLASH was slow to begin. Approaching the first turn NEVER shifted out and checked with CAMBLA FLASH and BRANDY CAMBLA. NEVER remained wide throughout.

 

Stewards questioned Trainer Mr M Heilbronn regarding his greyhounds racing manners into the first turn. Mr Heilbron stated that the greyhound prefers an outside box and this is evident from previous racing patterns.

 

The greyhound CAMBLA FLASH underwent a post-race veterinary examination and found to have a muscle strain in RF shoulder. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

 

 

Race 8 – SUNGAM BUNDABERG BEST 8 – 460M

 

Approaching the first turn CABELLO MUCHO and ROPE A DOPE collide and lose ground. Exiting the first turn UNDER ADVICE checked off heels of HURRICANE HANSI causing the dog to lose considerable ground and as a result checking NEDGO PRINCESS. HYPNOTISE EYES raced wide down the home straight.

 

Race 9 – REALWAY PROPERTY CONSULTANTS 5TH GRADE (2) – 460M

 

WILBY AWESOME was slow to begin. The field tightened into the first turn and most greyhounds were checked to varying degrees. Down the back straight FONIC LASS shifted out and checked with USURPER. ELLINGTON raced wide down the home straight.

 

The greyhound FONIC LASS underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a dislocated offside hind toe. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.
