RACE REPORTS

 

1.

MAIDEN 366M

HEARTLAND FLASH was best to begin, AMUS UNLEASHED and WALL OF VOODOO were marginally slow to begin.  Shortly after the start FROSTY BEJAY and SUDOKU DANCER collided resulting in SUDOKU DANCER to shift to the inside of the track.  CATCH ME KEITH shifted to the outside of the track checking AMUS UNLEASHED resulting in AMUS UNLEASHED to lose ground.  At the 200m AMUS UNLEASHED, FROSTY BEJAY and GRAND ANGEL collided resulting in FROSTY BEJAY to lose ground.  Approaching the 100m WALL OF VOODOO and CATCH ME KEITH bumped.  Stewards delayed the ‘all clear’ to take the opportunity to view the film to allow them to determine if there was any issue with the positioning of the lure, after viewing the replay the Stewards were satisfied  with the positioning and the “all clear” was given.

MAIDEN FINAL 366M

SPUDTASTIC and JAYCEE’S LADY were best to begin.  FIFI RUMBLE and BETTY RUMBLE were marginally slow to begin.  Shortly after the start SPUDTASTIC shifted to the outside colliding with JAYCEE’S LADY and WEE REMI resulting in both greyhounds to be checked.  Approaching the 200m DUBLIN DUCHESS and SPUDTASTIC shifted to the outside.  At the 200m SPUDTASTIC and JAYCEE’S LADY shifted outwards colliding with COUNTY COIN resulting in COUNTY COIN to be checked.  At the 100m DUBLIN DUCHESS and SPUDTASTIC bumped with both Greyhounds losing ground.  In the concluding stages WEE REMI was tightened for racing room and was momentarily hampered.

NOVICE 366M

Even start with RUMBLING JAKE and ISLA’S REBEL marginally slow to begin.  Shortly after the start RUMBLING JAKE and GHOST STORY were tightened for racing room, severely checked resulting in GHOST STORY to shift to the inside.  At the 200m BACK ON TRACK ran to the outside.  Leaving the 200m VALENTINO JACK contacted the heels of KUROI NAZO resulting in VALENTINO JACK to be hampered.

 

The greyhound ISLA’S REBEL underwent a post-race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.  Stewards questioned trainer Mr. B Kline regarding the greyhound’s performance.  Mr. Kline stated that he had trailed the greyhound at Capalaba and was happy with the trial and was expecting a forward showing. He said that he will be endeavouring to race it at Bundaberg in the upcoming weeks, however he stated that ISLA’S REBEL may be better suited to pathways racing at Brisbane.

 

The greyhound GHOST STORY underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.  Stewards questioned trainer Mr. B Hazelgrove in regards to the performance of GHOST STORY.  Mr. Hazelgrove stated that he had not trailed the greyhound at Capalaba but did expect the greyhound to perform well.  He further stated that the interference at the start that GHOST STORY suffered was the reason for its overall performance.

BITCHES 5th GRADE 366M

Even start with SMASHING FASHION slow to begin.  At the start SMASHING FASHION was tightened for room resulting in it losing ground and running to the inside.  Shortly after the start FANCY FREEL and NOIRE CHERIE were tightened for room and checked resulting in both greyhounds losing ground.  Approaching the 200m MADAM LOOPSY checked off the heels and lost ground.

5.

4/5th GRADE 366M

Even start. Shortly after the start RIP VAN WINKLE shifted out colliding with MIDNIGHT DASHER and PURE LEE CRUISY resulting in MIDNIGHT DASHER to shift in and lose ground.  Shortly after ZAMPERINI ran to the outside.  Approaching the 200m EL’S ON SHOW contacted the heels of ZAMPERINI resulting in EL’S ON SHOW to run to the inside and lose ground.

5th GRADE FINAL 366M

Even start.  Shortly after the start CARBROOK LAD and GO WILD ARTHUR collided resulting in CARBROOK LAD to shifted to the inside and lose ground.  Approaching the 200m mark DRAGON DANCER ran to the outside.  Approaching the 100m mark TOOKA HALF clipped the heels of GO WILD ARTHUR resulting in GO WILD ARTHUR to lose ground.

 

The greyhound GO WILD ARTHUR underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.  Stewards questioned trainer Mr. S Keep regards the greyhound’s performance.  Mr. Keep stated the early interference and the 3 starts in 7 days was the reason for the result in this race.  He further stated that he will be spelling the greyhound for at least the 10 days before resuming racing.

7.

STRAIGHT TO THE CREEK HEAT 1 366M

Even start.  At the start TWISTED and BOGIE TICKET collided forcing TWISTED to shift to the inside checking PAN YOKO, resulting in TWISTED to lose ground.  Approaching the 200m MIGHTY NIMROD shifted to the inside.  At the 200m PAN YOKO and GAGAN CEE JAY ran to the outside.

 

The greyhound MIGHTY NIMROD underwent a post race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the near side pin and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

The greyhound TWISTED underwent a post race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off side hip and was stood down for a period of 28 days.

STRAIGHT TO THE CREEK HEAT 2 366M

Even start.  Shortly after the start FUNNY FELLOW and HERO HAYDOS bumped resulting in FUNNY FELLOW to be hampered.  Approaching the 200m FUNNY FELLOW shifted to the outside.  At the 200m BIG TRIGGER contacted the heels of DUSTY’S CHANCE resulting in DUSTY’S CHANCE to be hampered.
