RACE REPORTS

 

1.

MAIDEN – 366M

BAFFIN was best to begin, ORANGE OAK ROAD was extremely slow.  ELLINGTON shifted in and checked into ITSA PATCHY immediately after the start, causing both greyhounds to lose ground.  EL SHAK and FIRE FLY CODY raced tight inside the first 100m, with EL SHAK shifting to the outside shortly after.  Approaching the 200m point, FIRE FLY JAKE shifted in and checked with RUSSIAN ROULETTE. 

 

The greyhound ORANGE OAK ROAD underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Stewards’ spoke to licensed trainer, Mr M Attard, who was handler of the greyhound ORANGE OAK ROAD, in relation to the greyhound’s performance, particularly its start.  Mr Attard explained that he had chosen to give the greyhound a preview before the race to see whether it would be of a benefit to the greyhound’s performanance, but in fact now believed it was detrimental to the greyhound’s effort and particularly the start as the greyhound was too wound up.

MAIDEN FINAL – 366M

MR.SEE US was slow to begin.  MR. SEE US and EXTRA ROYAL collided immediately after the start, causing both greyhounds to lose ground.  BEST STORY was checked and became unbalanced shortly after, as it shifted to the inside.  At the same time, MR. SEE US checked off heels and lost ground.  Approaching the 200m, BLACK DRATTA was impeded and shifted out bumping with ROYAL PLAY.  ROYAL PLAY shifted to the outside shortly after.

NOVICE – 366M

THAT’S A DRYVA was best to begin, with INOUNO marginally slow.  THAT’S A DRYVA shifted to the outside immediately after the start, causing interference to WANT SOME CAKE and JAYDA IVY as it did.  WHO SAID SO checked off heels and lost ground approaching the 200m.  Shortly after the 200m, JAYDA DRYVA shifted in and bumped with WANT SOME CAKE.  PATTAYA GIRL shifted to the inside over the concluding stages of the race.

MA5 – 366M

ENZO JAZZ was marginally slow to begin.  Shortly after the start, GUNNA WINK and ENZO JAZZ raced tight and bumped.  SABAI ODESSA and PROPER TOFF raced tight and checked on a number of occasions inside the 1st 100m, causing both greyhounds to lose ground as a result. RUMBLING JAKE, SABAI ODESSA and PROPER TOFF raced tight and bumped over the concluding stages of the race.

 

The greyhound NOSMO KING underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

5.

BITCHES 5TH GRADE – 366M

VELOCITY ONYX was best to begin, SLICE OF CAKE was marginally slow.  FANCY FREEL and IRISH SPICE shifted to the outside shortly after the start, and bumped on occasion.  SLICE OF CAKE was momentarily impeded as a result of this and shifted in as a consequence.  Shortly after the 200m, NO MORE CAKE and SLICE OF CAKE checked, causing both greyhounds to lose ground.

5TH GRADE (1) – 366M

MADRE was best to begin, TURBO ROY was marginally slow.  Approaching the 200m, PARIS QUEEN, SPORTS WRITER, WILDASH TOM and SNOWBALL CREED raced tight and checked, causing all greyhounds to lose ground as result.  Shortly after, WILDASH TOM and SNOWBALL CREED raced tight and checked, losing ground as a consequence.  At the 200m point, TURBO ROY shifted in sharply, causing GIFTED PINES to be impeded and to shift to the outside immediately after, with both greyhounds becoming unbalanced and losing ground as a consequence.   Shortly after the 200m, PARIS QUEEN and SPORTS WRITER raced tight and bumped.

5TH GRADE (2) – 366M

WILDASH SEMI was best to begin, with NOTORIOUS HERO slow.  FUNNY FLELLOW, MADAM LOOPSY and CAN’T POSSIBLY collided immediately after the start, causing all greyhounds to lose ground as a result.  WILDASH SEMI shifted to the outside shortly after the start.  FUNNY FELLOW shifted to the outside shortly after the 200m

5TH GRADE FINAL – 366M

SIR TO YOU was best to begin.  LA BAMBA and RED VEE raced tight and checked shortly after the start.  Shortly after, PATRONUS, WILDASH NITRO and RED VEE came together and checked.  RED VEE shifted to the outside immediately after that contact.  At the 200m, PATRONUS shifted in and checked heavily with WILDASH NITRO, causing both greyhounds to lose ground.

REDLAND’S SHARKS CRICKET CLUB MIXED 3/4 – 366M

CASANOVA JOE and FARMOR IN TIME were best to begin.  CHAMPAGNE SALLY and ALOTA AMY checked immediately after the start.  SWIFT NIMROD and SNOWBALL OTTO raced tight and checked shortly after the start, causing both greyhounds to lose ground as a result.  SNOWBALL OTTO shifted in at the 200m and checked into SWIFT NIMROD, causing SNOWBALL OTTO to stumble and lose ground as a result.  CHAMPAGNE SALLY and FARMOR IN TIME shifted in over the concluding stages of the race
