VETERINARY EXAMINATIONS

 

The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

GENERAL

 

The greyhound BIG YELLOW TAXI performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 3 over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.43 and is now cleared to nominate all tracks.

 

The greyhound SHOOP SHOOP SONG performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 3 over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.83 and is now cleared to nominate all tracks.

 

Race 1 – Maiden 431m

ROCKING RONNY was best to begin with HIGHTAIN’ IT slow to begin.  Soon after the start ROCKING RONNY and MURBAH GOLD collided.  Entering the back straight MAYWYN HEAPS checked off the heels of ROCKING RONNY.  In the back straight HIGHTAILIN’ IT was wide.  Entering the turn out of the back straight ROCKING RONNY and MURBAH GOLD were racing tight and bumping.  Entering the home straight MAYWYN HEAPS and MURBAH GOLD collided.

 

The greyhound MURBAH GOLD was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound HIGHTAILIN’ IT was vetted and found to have suffered a suspected cardiac failure after collapsing in the catching pen and was declared deceased by the veterinary surgeon.

 

Race 2 – Maiden 520m

Even start with KYANITE slowly away.  Entering the turn out of the home straight MADAM’S FLASH’S and KYANITE collided.  On the turn out of the home straight HAZY GAZE was wide.  On the top turn and in the home straight SMAUG’S BOUNTY was wide.  Approaching the winning post OBSIDIAN turned its head inwards failing to make contact.

 

Stewards advised trainer Ms. J Price that the greyhound OBSIDIAN would be charged under Rule 69 (B) Failing to Pursue plus injury, near side pin, 14 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 520m all tracks.

 

Race 3 – Novice 431m

TWO SIZE’S ALL and LONESOME DUK were best to begin with AUSSIE OZZIE slowly away.  Soon after the start LONESOME DUK and RYLI’S RAMBO collided.  Entering the back straight KAR BLU and AUSSIE OZZIE collided causing AUSSIE OZZIE to drop to the rear.  On the top turn and in the home straight KAR BLU and AUSSIE OZZIE were wide.

 

Race 4 – Novice 520m

MACNIVEK was best to begin with MADAM MEDUSA slowly away.  Entering the turn out of the home straight MACNIVEK checked off the heels of MAYWYN’S YING.  Entering the back straight MAYWYN’S COPY and SAHARA GIRL collided.  In the back straight and the top turn NIL ALL DRAW was wide.  In the home straight NIL ALL DRAW was wide.

 

Race 5 – 5th Grade 431m

Even start with HABANA FLEX slowly away.  Entering the back straight RYLI’S RANGA and KING’S GEM collided causing RYLI’S RANGA to drop back checking HABANA FLEX and MAYWN WILL WIN.  In the back straight RYLI’S RANGA and MAYWYN WILL WIN were wide.  Entering the top turn HABANA FLEX and ROCKY BE GOOD collided.  In the home straight MAYWYN WILL WIN was wide.

 

Race 6 – 4/5th Grade 431m

ROSDUE BOOMBER was best to begin with ANTI DENTITE slowly away.  Soon after the start KATE’S CRASH and AURIGA DOLL collided.  Entering the back straight HEZ SO FAST and WINNING NOVA collided.  Entering the top turn WINNING NOVA and ANTI DENTITE collided.  On the top turn AURIGA DOLL was wide.  In the home straight MELODY SERENADE was wide.

 

Race 7 – 5th Grade 520m

APATITE was best to begin with ROLEX ROO slowly away.  Soon after the start GARRANGAY DUK and HOUINDEED collided.  Entering the back straight GARRANGAY DUK checked off the heels of GOOD BYE JOAN.  In the back straight APATITI was wide.  On the top turn ROLEX ROO shifted outwards and marred APATITE, causing APATITE and ROLEX ROO to take no further competitive part in the event.  In the home straight GOOD BYE JOAN was wide.

 

The greyhound APATITE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Stewards advised trainer Mr. T Apap that the greyhound ROLEX ROO would be charged under Rule 69 Marring, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 520m all tracks.

 

Race 8 – 5th Grade 520m

MOSS WIN QUEEN, DYNAMITE SPEED and PRINCESS CANUTE were best to begin with STRING QUARTET slowly away.  Entering the turn out of the home straight WHITE MARLIN and GOT A BROTHER collided.  In the back straight STRING QUARTET was wide.  Entering the home straight MOSS WIN QUEEN and GOT A BROTHER collided.  In the home straight DYNAMITE SPEED was wide.

 

Race 9 – 5th Grade 431m

NITRO KNOCKA and SPLIT IT were best to begin with HANIFY’S GOLD and KILTY JACK slowly away.  Entering the back straight BEAR FOR BREAKY and KING’S SON collided causing BEAR FOR BREAKY to check MEG’S MAGIC.  On the top turn HANIFY’S GOLD was wide.  Entering the home straight NITRO KNOCKA and KILTY JACK collided.

 

The greyhound NITRO KNOCKA was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound BEAR FOR BREAKY was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 10 – 5th Grade 431m

MR. TRANSPORTER and TOURMALINE were best to begin with HE’S A HUNTER slowly away.  Entering the back straight MR. TRANSPORTER and TOURMALINE collided causing TOURMALINE to drop back.  In the back straight SO SWANKY was wide.  In the home straight CANDY CRUSH and HE’S A HUNTER were wide.
