The greyhound OBSIDIAN performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 520m in a time of 31.19 and is now cleared to nominate all tracks.
The greyhound FEAR THE SURF failed a stewards’ trial over the distance of 431m.
The greyhound IMA COUNTRY BOY performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.92 and is now cleared to nominate all tracks except Brisbane.
SPRING MORNING began well. At the same time DASHING DESIGN was slowly away. Through the catching pen STOLE MY HEART shifted out checking SMART CHIC. Shortly after NAT MAN shifted outwards checking the running of STOLE MY HEART and SMART CHIC. Approaching the 630m boxes EAT SOME CAKE shifted out checking the running of WOODY’S RETURN. Entering the home straight STOLE MY HEART raced wide of its own accord.
The greyhound DASHING DESIGN was vetted and no apparent injuries were found. Stewards advised trainer Mr. D Weston that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 71 Unsatisfactory Performance, must perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial 431m all tracks prior to nominating.
PRECIOUS ETHEL began well. At the same time SITELLA shifted outwards severely checking the running of CONRAD, GALWAY SUPERSTAR and SHAYLOR CRASH. Through the catching pen CONRAD shifted inwards checking the running of AVOID DAMAGE. In the home straight GALWAY SUPERSTAR became unbalanced when approaching the finish line.
The greyhound GALWAY SUPERSTAR was vetted and no apparent injuries were found. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. K Galloway in regards to his greyhound GALWAY SUPERSTAR’s performance. Stewards placed a warning on the greyhound. Mr. Galloway advised that he would be scratching the greyhound next week and would take it back to the straight track.

KLOEIS PRIDE began well. At the same time SPRING QUAYS was slow away. Approaching the catching pen GALWAY SUNSET shifted outwards. At the same time HELL’S ENEMY shifted inwards tightening the running of TOUCH OFCAJUN. In this incident GALWAY SUNSET became unbalanced. Approaching the finishing line MISS FELIX shifted out checking the running of FARMOR MAYHEM.
The greyhound GALWAY SUNSET was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

Even start. Shortly after BROOKVALE GLORY shifted out checking SPRING CRYSTAL and ACHTUNG. Through the catching pen QUEENSRYCHE shifted out checking PRINCESS TOUCH. Shortly after MY MATE LING was racing wide. Entering the back straight QUEENSRYCHE shifted inwards severely checking the running of ACHTUNG. In this incident ACHTUNG became unbalanced. Approaching the 630m boxes THAT’S INSANE when making a move on the inside shifted out checking HELLO JOAN, which in turn checked the running of SPRING CRYSTAL. Approaching the home straight QUEENSRYCHE shifted inwards severely checking the running of HELLO JOAN.

5 – 5th Grade Heat 1 431m
Shortly after the start FARMER’S GOLD shifted in checking NOT WORTH IT. Through the 1st turn NOT WORTH IT shifted in checking CUTE CATE and KILTY JACK. In this incident CUTE CATE became unbalanced and took no further competitive part in the race. Through the catching pen FARMER’S GOLD shifted inwards checking NOT WORTH IT. Entering the back straight FARMER’S GOLD became unbalanced and took no further competitive part in the event.
The greyhound CUTE CATE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found. Stewards advised trainer Mr. J Bradley that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 (A) Failing to Pursue, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trail 431m all tracks.
The
greyhound FARMER’S GOLD was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the
off side hock and was stood down for a period of 12 weeks.

6 – 5th Grade Heat 2 431m
Shortly after the start MY LUXS ALIVE shifted out checking BONGANI. Through the 1st turn MY LUXS ALIVE shifted outwards causing general interference to the running of EAT MORE CAKE, BLUE SIZE and WILDASH WARRIOR. In this incident BLUE SIZE was forced to race wide. In the back straight MY LUXS ALIVE shifted outwards checking the running of EAT MORE CAKE. Shortly after the 630m boxes COSMIC CATCH shifted inwards checking the running of WILDASH WARRIOR. Approaching the home turn SKYE BRIDGE shifted in checking MR. TRANSPORTER. Approaching the finishing line both MR. TRANSPORTER and SKYE BRIDGE were racing tight.

MAGIC MOUSSE and SAHARA GIRL were slow to begin In the straight on the 1st occasion GIGGLING BEACH shifted outwards checking SPRING CHARLIE. Approaching the turn out of the straight MAGIC MOUSSE shifted out checking SAHARA GIRL. Passing the 630m boxes KNIGHTS TEMPLAR shifted inwards checking SPRING CHARLIE and WHIRLY WAY.

SURE YOU CAN was slow to begin. Through the catching pen RAZEN TOAST shifted outwards checking off the heels of SURE YOU CAN. Approaching the 630m boxes BOGIE TOM shifted inwards checking the running of MAGICAL GIRL. In this incident MAGICAL GIRL shifted outwards forcing ULTIMATE STAR wide. Approaching the home turn MAGICAL GIRL shifted out checking off the heels of ULTIMATE STAR. In this incident MAGICAL GIRL lost ground. In the home straight ULTIMATE STAR raced wide of its own accord.

BOGIE FLYER was slow to begin. Through the catching pen KING’S SON and BOGIE FLYER were racing tight. Passing the 630m boxes KING’S SON shifted outwards checking TINY TURBO. In this incident TINY TURBO checked BOGIE FLYER and STRONG STANLEY.

10 – 5th Grade Heat 4 431m
SUPER STRING was slow to begin. Through the catching pen SWEET AS BETH shifted in tightening the running of SONIC REDUCER and SECRET STASH. In this incident SECRET STASH became unbalanced and lost ground. In the back straight MAGIC IT UP shifted out checking BIG YELLOW TAXI. In this incident BIG YELLOW TAXI lost ground. Entering the home straight SECRET STASH raced wide of its own accord.
