VETERINARY EXAMINATIONS

 

The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

GENERAL

 

The greyhound ROSABEL performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.45 and is now cleared to nominate all tracks.

 

The greyhound LIL’ BIT SPARKY performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 3 over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.36.

 

The greyhound SHYAN YAHOO performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 3 over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.12.

 

Race 1 – Maiden 431m

Even start.  SHAYLOR CRASH was slow to begin.  Leaving the turn out of the back straight PENNY UNDERCOVER and SWEET delight came together which hampered PENNY UNDERCOVER losing considerable ground.  Rounding the home turn NAN’S NIRO and MAYWYN MACEY bumped, causing MAYWYN MACEY to became unbalanced and lose momentum.  ROCKING RONNY was held up for clear running over the final stages of the race.

 

Race 2 – Maiden 431m

Even start with HAPPY GEORGE and GO FOR HOME slow to begin.  Entering the back straight OUR GOLD clipped the heels of HAPPY GEORGE and lost considerable ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight DASHING CHARGER clipped the heels of SWEET MANTRA and became unbalanced, shortly after was contacted heavily by HAPPY GEORGE, causing it to blunder and almost fall.

 

The greyhound DASHING CHARGER was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the off hind leg and was stood down for a period of 7 days.

 

Race 3 – Novice 431m

SHAYLOR BECKY showed early speed.  GUNNADOO RAIDER was slow to begin.  Approaching the turn into the back straight QUEEN OF SHOW shifted out and as a result STRAYA was checked and lost some ground.  Entering the back straight STRAYA shifted out and bumped with GUNNADOO RAIDER causing GUNNADOO RAIDER to lose momentum.  In the back straight ELL’S ALL CLASS crossed down and clipped the front legs of SHAYLOR BECKY causing this greyhound to become unbalanced.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight QUEEN OF SHOW shifted in and contacted SHAYLOR BECKY causing it to become unbalanced and lose considerable ground.

 

Race 4 – 5th Grade Heat 1 431m

ACE CHARMER was best to begin.  JESS NIRO was slow to begin.  Approaching the turn into the back straight SPANKY’S LEGEND raced tight between ELITE DESSA and KLOEIS PRIDE and was hampered.  SPANKY’S LEGEND raced tight in the back straight between BONGANI and JESS NIRO, resulting in KLOEIS PRIDE and SPANKY’S LEGEND losing some ground.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight SPANKY’S LEGEND shifted in and tightened ELITE DESSA causing it to be hampered losing some ground. 

 

The greyhound KLOEIS PRIDE was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the off fore leg and was stood down for a period of 10 days.  Trainer Mr. S Armstrong was questioned regarding the performance explained that KLOEIS PRIDE was severely checked at its previous start and may have lost some confidence as a result of that check.  He further stated that KLOEIS PRIDE had a slight back injury which was treated and he was confident that it would race up to expectations.  He further stated that he may restrict KLOEIS PRIDE future racing engagements away from Ipswich until it can gain more confidence.

 

Race 5 – 4/5th Grade 520m

Even start.  Shortly after the start FLASH ZOE shifted in checking BIG YELLOW TAXI, which lost some ground.  Approaching the turn out of the front straight HOLWOOD ROSE HI shifted in contacting SHE CAN DO, causing that greyhound to checked, which in turn shifted out and checked SKETCHY AIMY and BIG YELLOW TAXI.

 

Race 6 – 5th Grade Heat 2 431m

SIG SAUER and TRULY UNIQUE were best to begin.  Shortly after the start URBAN ENFORCER shifted out and SPRING CLOVER shifted in.  As a consequence THAT’S INSANE, MAGIC KITCHEN and NOT WORTH IT were all tightened for racing room, which resulted in MAGIC KITCHEN and NOT WORTH IT being checked and losing considerable ground.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight URBAN ENFORCER and THAT’S INSANE came together causing URBAN ENFORCER to lose momentum.

 

The greyhound MAGIC KITCHEN was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.  Trainer Ms. F Guymer explained that she was confident that the greyhound would perform well in tonight’s race however, when the greyhound was checked on the 1st turn she was of the view that MAGIC KITCHEN does not race well when being tightened for racing room and as a consequence lost in her view her winning chance.  She further stated that she was satisfied with the way MAGIC KITCHEN completed the race.

 

Race 7 – 4/5th Grade Final 431m

Even start.  Approaching the turn into the back straight RYLEE’S RING IN and ROYAL ALBERT bumped.  UP THE ATTITUDE was checked as a result of this incident.  RYLEE’S RING IN lost considerable ground in this incident.  Leaving the back straight SPRING MILLIE shifted in and tightened RYLEE’S RING IN and as a result RYLEE’S RING IN lost momentum.  RYLEE’S RING IN raced wide around the final turn.

 

The greyhound RYLEE’S RING IN was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 8 – 3/4th Grade 431m

Even start with FYRE GAL slow to begin.  Approaching the turn into the back straight RHYTHMIC BLUES and SPRING COLARADO came together losing minimal ground.  Turning into the back straight PEARLS ANGEL was tightened for racing room between FYRE GAL and SPRING COLARADO and lost considerable ground.

 

Race 9 – 5th Grade Heat 3 431m

FEMME JOLIE was best to begin.  Shortly after the start MAGICAL GIRL and PREMIER BEAR came together.  Rounding the turn into the back straight MAGIC IT UP shifted out which tightened BROOKVALE GLORY, which in turn tightened the racing room of SHE’S A NIRO and LITTLE SIZZLER, resulting in BROOKVALE GLORY, SHE’S A NIRO and LITTLE SIZZLER losing considerable ground.  Leaving the back straight PREMIER BEAR shifted out contacting MAGICAL GIRL causing that greyhound to be checked and lose some ground.

 

Race 10 – 5th Grade Heat 4 431m

OUT WEST was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start DEEP DESPAIR shifted in and tightened the racing room of SLAYER RETURN, PAM ROSE HI, DIRTY DESSA, DIAMOND OSPREY and AUSPHIL GIRL, which resulted in PAM ROSE HI and DIRTY DESSA losing considerable ground.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight IMA COUNTRY BOY shifted out and hampered PAM ROSE HI causing it to lose momentum.  Rounding the home turn DIAMOND OSPREY shifted in and tightened SLAYER RETURN causing it to become unbalance and lose momentum.  IMA COUNTRY BOY blundered in the back straight and lost momentum and thereafter raced ungenerously.

 

Trainer Mr. P Hay the trainer of IMA COUNTRY BOY explained that the greyhound had showed signs of kennel stress and in his view it effected the performance of IMA COUNTRY BOY in tonight’s event.  P Hay was instructed to inform stewards of anything that may come amiss with the greyhound in the upcoming days.  In all the circumstances his explanation was noted and a warning was issued against IMA COUNTRY BOY.
