The greyhound CLASSY MOVER failed a stewards’ trial over the distance of 431m.
The greyhound PIKELET performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 3 over the distance of 520m in a time of 30.65.
The greyhound OUTSIDE PASS performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 3 over the distance of 520m in a time of 30.37.
The greyhound COSMIC BOSS performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 3 over the distance of 520m in a time of 30.55.
The greyhound VEGAS BOUND performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 3 over the distance of 520m in a time of 30.84.
HAWTHORN BUDDY was slow to begin. Shortly after the start MISS MAGNOLIA and COVERT AFFAIR were tightened between BY GOLLY MOLLY and DON’T GO, both of which shifted. Passing the winning post on the 1st occasion HAWTHORN BUDDY appeared to ease when in clear running. Entering the 1st turn MISS MAGNOLIA and COVERT AFFAIR raced tight and unbalanced and were forced to race wide through the turn. Continuing through the turn DEVELOPER shifted out off the heels of DON’T GO and hampered FOCUS ME. Through the back straight COVERT AFFAIR shifted in checking MISS MAGNOLIA. Down the home straight BY GOLLY MOLLY and DON’T GO collided.
The greyhound HAWTHORN BUDDY was vetted and no apparent injuries were found. Stewards advised trainer Mr. K Keenan that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 (A) Failing to Pursue, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 520m all tracks.
The
greyhound MISS MAGNOLIA was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the
off side Achilles tendon and was stood down for a period of 6 weeks.
Even start. Shortly after the start YOU THERE JOAN and GALI BAARRI DUK were tightened between HOBO JANE and MURBAH GOLD. Entering the 1st turn YOU THERE JOAN made contact with the running rail and then shifted out abruptly, severely inconveniencing GALI BAARRI DUK. At the same time HOBO JANE, MURBAH GOLD and CLASSY BAMQUIN were all tight. Continuing through the turn HOBO JANE and MURBAH GOLD collided. Entering the back straight MONKEY’S UNCLE and CLASSY BAMQUIN came together.
The greyhound GALI BAARRI DUK was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.
Race 3 – Novice520m
RAGING THUNDER was best to begin with KAHUNA WEST and SAPPHIRE LILLY slow. Approaching the 1st turn VISIONARY shifted in tightening GALWAY GALE. Entering the 1st turn KAHUNA WEST appeared to ease in clear running and took no further competitive part in the event.
The greyhound KAHUNA WEST was vetted and no apparent injuries were found. Stewards advised trainer Mr. P Carleton that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 (A) Failing to Pursue, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 520m all tracks.
Stewards spoke to the trainer of DETROIT MUSCLE Mr. C Blaney in regards to the greyhound’s below market expectation performance. Mr. Blaney stated to stewards that the greyhound had run to his expectations in this event, noting the quick time posted by the winner. Mr. Blaney also stated that the greyhound does prefer to be boxed in a wider position. Stewards accepted Mr. Blaney’s comments.
Race 4 – Novice 520m
MR. REALITY was slow to begin. Passing the winning post on the 1st occasion IN THE PICTURE, MAYWYN’S COPY and VILVANDA were tight and bumping. As a result VILVANDA shifted out colliding with GALWAY RAIN. Shortly after, MOSS WIN QUEEN was forced to shift out off the heels of VILVANDA colliding with GALWAY RAIN and both greyhounds were forced wide through the 1st turn losing ground. Through the turn BEEJAY MCROCKET, BRALYN LUIGI and IN THE PICTURE raced tight and became unbalanced and BRALYN LUIGI lost ground and inconvenienced MAYWYN’S COPY which was following. Approaching the top turn BRALYN LUIGI shifted in checking VILVANDA which lost ground and inconvenienced MOSS WIN QUEEN which was following.
The
greyhound GALWAY RAIN was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the
off side pin and was stood down for a period of 7 days.
Race 5 – 5th
Grade Heat 1 520m
CHEVALEIR NUIT began awkwardly. Shortly after the start HOUSO DELIGHT, SOLO MISS and DOUBLE STORM were tight. Approaching the 1st turn MINI OREO and BERRY IN LOVE came together. Entering the back straight DOUBLE STORM shifted out off the heels of HOUSO DELIGHT.
The greyhound CHEVALEIR NUIT was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.
Race 6 – 5th
Grade Het 2 520m
SIVAMET was slow to begin. Shortly after the start POCAHONTAS shifted out tightening FASHION GURU and CHEEKY FREYER. Down the home straight on the 1st occasion SIVAMET improved onto the heels of CHEEKY FREYER and both greyhounds became unbalanced. Shortly after, POCAHONTAS shifted out colliding with FASHION GURU and became unbalanced and as a result CHEEKY FREYER was forced to check off the heels of this greyhound and collide with SIVAMET. Both greyhounds became severely unbalanced and lost ground. FASHION GURU and POCAHONTAS bumped entering the home straight.
The
greyhound ESPRESS SHOT was vetted and found to have suffered post race distress
syndrome and no penalty.
Race 7 – Open Final 732m
OKAY YETTA was best to begin with NUREYEV and STARGATE SYSTEM slow. Approaching the 1st turn HOUGENIE and CYNDIE’S MAGIC came together forcing CYNDIE’S MAGIC out onto the running of KILLARA. As a result KILLARA was forced to shift out and check MULLAWAY and REALITY GHOST causing MULLAWAY to fall and take no further competitive part in the event.
The greyhound MULLAWAY was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.
Race 8 – 4/5th Grade 431m
STRONG STANLEY was best to begin. Entering the 1st turn SURE YOU CAN checked IT’S MY TIME which was forced to shift in and tighten TOURMALINE and GRAVITY WOLF. As a result GRAVITY WOLF shifted out abruptly and collided heavily with SURE YOU CAN, YALINGA and LANCASTER ROSE and all greyhounds became severely unbalanced. Entering the back straight LANCASTER ROSE and GRAVITY WOLF came together. Through the top turn STRONG STANLEY and IT’S MY TIME were tight. Entering the home straight SPECIAL GIRL and TOURMALINE came together.
Race 9 – 5th Grade 431m
BLACKJACK GENT was slow to begin. Through the 1st turn GLENOIT shifted out off the heels of WILDASH WARRIOR and collided with CANDY CRUSH, FASHION ADVICE and CHEEKY CHARMER. Entering the home straight FASHION ADVICE shifted out hampering YA ACE YA. GLENOIT and CANDY CRUSH raced tight through the home straight.
Race 10 – 5th Grade 431m
HELLO JOAN was slow to begin. Shortly after the start SPRITE AND POWER, GUNNER MAGIC and TEMNICK came together. Shortly after, INSIDE PASS was tightened between ROXY ROCKET and BOGIE FLYER. Continuing through the turn ROXY ROCKET shifted out off the heels of BOGIE FLYER onto the running of INSIDE PASS and TEMNICK. As a result INSIDE PASS was checked and fell, taking no further competitive part in the event. Entering the home straight BOGIE FLYER and GUNNER MAGIC collided.
The greyhound INSIDE PASS was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.
