VETERINARY EXAMINATIONS

 

The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

GENERAL

 

The greyhound THOMAS GOOD performed a satisfactory 6 month trial over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.96.

 

The greyhound RAPID ROSE performed a satisfactory 6 month trial over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.52.

 

Race 1 – Maiden 431m

MAYWYN MACEY was best to begin.  ELECTRIC BUNDY and GALWAY SUPERSTAR were slow to begin.  Shortly after the start HAPPY GEORGE and SPRING TWIG came together.  Rounding the turn into the back straight TEETH GRIEF and EXPLOSIVE WEAR came together causing EXPLOSIVE WEAR to lose some ground.  GALWAY SUPERSTAR was checked as a result of this incident.  RYLI’S CAM and GALWAY SUPERSTAR bumped on the front straight.

 

The greyhound GALWAY SUPERSTAR was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 2 – Maiden 431m

The start of this race was delayed when DASHING CHARGER proved difficult to box.  After an inquiry with trainer D Weston stewards deemed DASHING CHARGER to be a ‘hard to box’ greyhound.  PARIS FRANCE and TECHNO LEGEND were best to begin.  Shortly after the start GALWAY LIGHTNING and GALWAY THUNDER came together.  Approaching the turn into the back straight EAT LESS CAKE was checked when HAZY GAZE and DASHING CHARGER came together.

 

Race 3 – Novice 431m

MIDNIGHT HUNTER was best to begin.  WESTMEAD LASS and TARA MARRIE were checked when GOOD BYE JOAN and DESIGN BOY came together shortly after the start.  KIKEM SPRINGER shifted out on the turn into the back straight which resulted in GOOD BYE JOAN being checked and lose considerable ground.  SPRING MORNING raced wide in the back straight.  KIKEM SPRINGER and SPRING MORNING came together leaving the back straight which resulted in SPRING MORNING being checked and losing some ground.

 

Race 4 – Novice 431m

The greyhound RYLI’S RAMBO was vetted pre race when it slipped its collar, no apparent injuries were found and passed fit to compete.

 

RYLI’S RAMBO was best to begin.  MOSS WIN QUEEN was slow to begin.  Rounding the turn into the back straight VICKI MORRIS was tightened between AMY’S ELITE and CHARMING GIRL causing VICKI MORRIS to shift out and make heavy contact with EAT SOME CAKE, resulting in both greyhounds losing considerable ground.

 

The greyhound VICKI MORRIS was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 5 – 5th Grade Heat 1 431m

MAGIC ANGEL was best to begin.  MEG’S MAGIC and SHOOP SHOOP SONG were both slow to begin.  Approaching the turn into the back straight BONGANI and COSMIC CATCH were tightened when racing between AL SENOR and SPRING CANDY.  Rounding the turn into the front straight SHOOP SHOOP SONG and SPRING CANDY came together which resulted in SPRING CANDY being checked.

 

Race 6 – 4/5th Grade Final 431m

GEARS OF WAR and DIAMOND OSPREY were best to begin.  Shortly after the start FARMOR MAYHEM and SLAYER RETURN came together.  Shortly afterwards MIGHTY OAK and SHE’S A NIRO raced tight.  Rounding the turn into the back straight GEARS OF WAR was checked when racing between ALEEAH JET and DIAMOND OSPREY and lost some ground.  Leaving the turn out of the back straight FARMOR MAYHEM and SLAYER RETURN came together which resulted in FARMOR MAYHEM losing considerable ground.  Rounding the turn into the front straight FARMOR MAYHEM shifted in and checked GEARS OF WAR.

 

Race 7 – 4/5th Grade 520m

BIG YELLOW TAXI was best to begin.  Shortly after the start NOT THE ONE and SKETCHY AIMY came together resulting in SKETCHY AIMY losing ground.  Approaching the turn out of the front straight ALPHA ACHILLES checked off the heels of WHIRLY WAY when that greyhound crossed which resulted in ALPHA ACHILLES being checked and racing wide losing considerable ground.  EBONY’S SECRET was checked as a result of this incident.  In the back straight ALPHA ACHILLES checked off the heels of SKETCHY AIMY.

 

The greyhound ALPHA ACHILLES was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 8 – 3/4th Grade 431m

Even start. Approaching the turn into the back straight all greyhounds raced tight which resulted in FASHION ADVICE, RYLEE’S RING IN and RYLI’S RANGA being severely checked and all 3 greyhounds falling into the track and thereafter taking no further competitive part in the race.

 

The greyhound FASHION ADVICE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound RYLEE’S RING IN was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound RYLI’S RANGA was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 9 – 5th Grade Heat 2 431m

OAKEY PARK was best to begin.  Shortly after the start TRU RYDER shifted out checking PRINCESS TOUCH and MAGICAL GIRL resulting in MAGICAL GIRL losing some ground.  COIN OF PHRASE was hampered as a result of this incident.

 

The greyhound COIN OF PHRASE was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the off fore toe and was stood down for a period of 7 days.

 

Race 10 – 5th Grade Heat 3 431m

RYLEE’S ROOKIE and STANDOUT were best to begin.  KAR BLU was slow to begin.  Rounding the turn into the back straight STRONG STANLEY clipped the heels of SPANKY’S LEGEND causing it to lose some ground.
