The greyhound ROGUE NINJA performed a satisfactory 6 month trial over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.50.
The greyhound TRAP MAN performed a satisfactory Return to Racing Trial 3 over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.35.
The greyhound ANNIE ELLEN performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.57 and is now cleared to nominate all tracks.
THOMAS GOOD was slow to begin. SHELIA DOOLEY was best to begin. Through the 1st turn SHELIA DOOLEY shifted in tightening SWEET MANTRA, BILLS GINGER RAP, DASHING CHARGER and FLASHING FEAR, resulting in BILLS GINGER RAP and FLASHING FEAR losing ground. SMASHNIAK HARE and MUGGED ON TOUR who were following were also checked. Approaching the top turn SMASHNIAK HARE checked off the heels of MUGGED ON TOUR, resulting in SMASHNIAK HARE losing ground. Through the top turn DASHING CHARGER raced extremely wide and took no further competitive part in the event.
The greyhound BILLS GINGER RAP was vetted and no apparent injuries were found. Stewards advised trainer Mr. M Geraghty that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 (A) Failing to Pursue, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 431m all tracks.
The
greyhound SMASHNIAK HARE was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the
near side wrist and was stood down for a period of 10 days.
ELECTRIC BUNDY and GO FOR HOME were slow to begin. Shortly after the start HOBO JANE and MAJOR GENERAL bumped. Through the 1st turn STIRLING BLUE checked off the heels of NAN’S NIRO. Entering the back straight CLAYBRO NINJA checked off the heels of LEHMAN BENZ. Approaching the top turn MAJOR GENERAL appeared to become unbalanced. Through the top turn NAN’S NIRO checked off the heels of ELECTRIC BUNDY. Entering the home straight MAJOR GENERAL shifted wider on the track. Entering the home straight STIRLING BLUE, ELECTRIC BUNDY and HOBO JANE all raced tight.
The greyhound MAJOR GENERAL was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

3 – Novice 431m
BASHFUL BABE was best to begin. Shortly after the start GALWAY SUNSET was tightened for room and lost ground between CHARMING GIRL and RIDES ON SCOOTER. Entering the back straight CHARMING GIRL and FULL OF DREAMS bumped. Through the top turn CHARMING GIRL shifted out turning its head towards SMART ILLUSION.
The greyhound CHARMING GIRL was vetted and no apparent injuries were found. Stewards advised trainer Ms. H Wendy that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 (A) Failing to Pursue, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 431m all tracks.
The
greyhound SMART ILLUSION was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the
near side pin and was stood down for a period of 28 days.

4 – Novice 431m
DOOLEY’S HOBO was best to begin. KAR BLU was slow to begin. Shortly after the start SMASH TO FEAR was tightened for room and lost ground between BONTEMPELLI and IMA COUNTRY BOY. Entering the back straight IMA COUNTRY BOY checked off the heels of BONTEMPELLI taking KAR BLU wider on the track. Through the top turn DOOLEY’S HOBO checked off the heels of FEAR THE RECALL. Through the top turn IMA COUNTRY BOY shifted out making muzzle contact with KAR BLU.
The
greyhound IMA COUNTRY BOY was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to
the near fore webbing and was stood down for a period of 10 days. Stewards advised trainer Mr. P Hay that the
greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 Marring, 2nd offence, 3
months plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 431m all tracks.

5 – 4/5th Grade Heat 1 431m
ROYAL ALBERT was slow to begin. Shortly after the start REGINALD BENZ was tightened for room and lost ground between CELS PRIDE and FULL OF ATTITUDE. Entering the back straight CELS PRIDE and COIN OF PHRASE raced tight resulting in REGINALD BENZ being taken wider on the track.

6 – 4/5th Grade 520m
SAHARA GIRL was slow to begin. Through the front straight on the 1st occasion LAYLA ROSE HI checked off the heels of WILL MEND, resulting in WILL MEND becoming unbalanced. Through the 1st turn DARE TO TELL shifted wider on the track forcing JUST LIKE TINA extremely wide. Through the top turn LAYLA ROSE HI checked off the heels of SLEEPY MIME.
The
greyhound DARE TO TELL was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the
off hind back muscle and was stood down for a period of 6 weeks.

7 – 4/5th Grade Heat 2 431m
VICKI ROSE HI was best to begin. Through the 1st turn CHEEKY CHARMER checked off the heels of VICKI ROSE HI, causing interference to DIRTY DESSA. In the back straight ROCK ON ROLLA checked off the heels of DIRTY DESSA and lost ground resulting in SPRITELY CHARM being checked and falling, taking no further competitive part in the event. Entering the home straight DIANNE’S PEARL shifted out bumping ROCK ON ROLLA. DIANNE’S PEARL and ROCK ON ROLLA raced tight throughout the home straight.
The greyhound SPRITELY CHARM was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

8 – 4/5th Grade Heat 3 431m
ROXY ROCKET, DESIGN BOY and SPRING BLUESTONE were best to begin. TWICE AS NICE was slow to begin. Through the 1st turn general tightening was causing to all runners with the exception of TWICE AS NICE and SPRING BLUESTONE. TWICE AS NICE raced wide entering the back straight. MEMGEEBEE yielded ground in the back straight. Entering the home straight ROXY ROCKET shifted out making muzzle contact with DESIGN BOY.
The greyhound MEMGEEBEE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found. Stewards advised that a warning would be placed on the greyhound for a performance bordering on unsatisfactory. Trainer D Mulhall stated the greyhound works itself up in the kennels prior to racing and would not be giving the greyhound any previews in the future. Stewards noted his comments.
Stewards advised trainer Mr. G Pearce that the greyhound ROXY ROCKET would be charged under Rule 69 Marring, 2nd offence, 3 months plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 431m all tracks.

9 – 4/5th Grade Heat 4 431m
BOUNCER BENZ was best to begin. CAUSEWAY CHARLIE was slow to begin. Shortly after the start STEV and JOHN SNOW bumped. Through the top turn JOHN SNOW, STEV, SHIVERANCE and SIZE WON’T MATTER all raced tight resulting in all greyhounds becoming unbalanced. Entering the home straight CAUSEWAY CHARLIE shifted out making muzzle contact with SIZE WON’T MATTER.
The
greyhound CAUSEWAY CHARLIE was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to
the near hind leg and was stood down for a period of 10 days. Stewards advised trainer Mr. K Ollerton that
the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 Marring, 1st
offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 431m all tracks.
Race
10 – 4/5th Grade Heat 5 431m
HARNEY and LANCASTER ROSE were best to begin. SPRING CHOICE was slow to begin. Through the top turn SPLIT IT, BONGANI and HOLYWOOD ROSE HI were all tightened for room and lost ground between AMY’S ELITE and BIG YELLOW TAXI. SPRING CHOICE who was following was also inconvenienced. In the back straight HOLYWOOD ROSE HI appeared to sustain an injury and took no further competitive part in the event.
The
greyhound HOLYWOOD ROSE HI was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to
the off hind back muscle and was stood down for a period of 6 weeks.
