The greyhound SWEET DIMPLE performed a satisfactory 6 month trial over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.66.
ARRIRA was best to begin. FEAR THE SURF was slow to begin. Through the 1st turn SHE’S NO SAINT, RYAN ROAD, DRAGON DUK and DASH OF FAITH all raced tight, resulting in DRAGON DUK losing ground. Entering the back straight SHE’S NO SAINT checked off the heels of RYAN ROAD, resulting in SHE’S NO SAINT falling and taking no further competitive part in the event. DRAGON DUK who was following was checked as a result. Entering the top turn ARRIRA checked off heels of GAGAN NANCY, resulting in that greyhound losing ground. RYAN ROAD and DAH OF FAITH raced wide throughout the home straight. Approaching the finishing line FEAR THE SURF shifted in turning its head inwards and making muzzle contact with GAGAN NANCY.
The greyhound SHE’S NO SAINT was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.
Stewards advised trainer Mr. C Curtis that the greyhound FEAR THE SURF would be charged under Rule 69 Marring, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 431m all tracks.
GOTTA GET UP and OIDOS EXTRANOS were best to begin. GOLDEN PHEONIX was slow to begin. Shortly after the start CARLTON CREW and SNOWBALL BAZZA collided. Through the 1st turn SPRING RAYMOND shifted in tightening SNOWBALL BAZZA and CARLTON CREW, resulting in both these greyhounds losing ground. In the back straight SNOWBALL BAZZA was tightened between CARLTON CREW and GOLDEN PHEONIX, resulting in SNOWBALL BAZZA losing ground. AVOID DAMAGE raced extremely wide throughout the back straight. Entering the top turn GOLDEN PHEONIX checked off the heels of CARLTON CREW. Through the top turn GOTTA GET UP and SPRING RAYMOND raced tight.
Race 3 – Maiden Final 431m
The start of this race was delayed due to holding for an interstate event.
Even start. Through the 1st turn WEST MEAD BLUE and RAPID ROSE were tightened for room and lost ground between SPLIT SYSTEM, ROCKING RONNY, SWEET MANTRA and ROCKET’S ANGEL who were following also were checked. Through the top turn ROCKET’S ANGEL checked off the heels of WEST MEAD BLUE.
Race 4 – Novice 431m
DRAGON DANCER was best to begin. SPRING CRYSTAL was slow to begin. Through the 1st turn GOOD BYE JOAN and VELOCITY TINA collided checking SHAYLOR DAISEY. Also at that point OVIE’S RAGING shifted in checking SPRING MORNING. OVIE’S RAGING raced wide throughout the back straight. Also in the back straight DRAGON DANCER checked off the heels of ROGUE NINJA. Approaching the top turn SHAYLOR DAISEY checked off the heels of OVIE’S RAGING and lost ground. Entering the home straight DRAGON DANCER shifted off the heels of GOOD BYE JOAN and was forced to race wider on the track. SPRING CRYSTAL lost considerable ground over the concluding stages.
Stewards advised trainer Ms. B Leary that the greyhound SPRING CRYSTAL would be charged under Rule 71 Unsatisfactory Performance, must perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial 431m all tracks.
Race 5 – 5th
Grade Heat 1 520m
NOIR DIABLO and BRALYN COOKIE were best to begin. MAYWYN’S COPY was slow to begin. Through the front straight on the 1st occasion LORRY DRYVA and BRALYN COOKIE collided, resulting in VALKYRIE ELLA being checked. Approaching the 1st turn MAYWY’S COPY made contact with the running rail, resulting in this greyhound becoming extremely unbalanced, then shifting out checking VALKYRIE ELLA and LORRY DRYVA. Also at that stage SPRING QUARTET checked off the heels of NOIR DIABLO. Through the top turn LORRY DRYVA improved onto the heels of NOIR DIABLO dragging that greyhound down. MAYWYN’S COPY who was following was severely checked, becoming unbalanced and also falling. Entering the home straight VALKYRIE ELLA and LORRY DRYVA collided.
The greyhound MAYWYN’S COPY was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.
Race 6 – 5th
Grade Heat 2 520m
PEARLS ANGEL was best to begin. Shortly after the start SLIP SLIDING and DARK BLAST were both checked and lost ground between BEC’S SECRET and GLENOIT. Through the front straight on the 1st occasion DARK BLAST checked off the heels of SLIP SLIDING. Entering the 1st turn GLENOIT checked off the heels of PEARLS ANGEL which shifted out. Entering the top turn MACIE’S DINGO checked off the heels of TEMNICK, resulting in BEC’S SECRET also being checked. Through the top turn DARK BLAST checked off the heels of LA LUCCIOLA.
Race 7 – 4/5th Grade Final 520m
Even start. Shortly after the start EL CAPO shifted in checking MAGIC KITCHEN, SPRING MILLIE, ASTOUND YA and FAR FROM FEAR. Through the front straight on the 1st occasion EL CAPO continued to shift in also tightening SOLO MISS and POCAHONTAS. Entering the 1st turn SOLO MISS and FAR FROM FEAR collided. Through the 1st turn ASTOUND YA shifted out hampering SOLO MISS. SPRING MILLIE who was following was also inconvenienced. Through the front straight on the 1st occasion EL CAPO continued to shift in also tightening SOLO MISS and POCAHONTAS. Entering the 1st turn SOLO MISS and FAR FROM FEAR collided. Through the 1st turn ASTOUND YA shifted out hampering SOLO MISS. SPRING MILLIE who was following was also inconvenienced. Through the home straight SPRING MILLIE checked off the heels of FAR FROM FEAR and was forced to race wider on the track.
Race 8 – 3/4th Grade 431m
SUPER LUIGI was best to begin. LOTUS BLOSSOM and SENOR SOCKS were slow to begin. Through the 1st turn general tightening occurred to OUTA TEMPO, BIG DAC, FULL OF ATTITUDE and GIGGLING BEACH, resulting in FULL OF ATTITUDE losing ground checking LOTUS BLOSSOM. Entering the top turn SENOR SOCKS shifted in checking LOTUS BLOSSOM, resulting in LOTUS BLOSSOM losing ground. SENOR SOCKS and GIGGLING BEACH raced tight throughout the home straight.
The greyhound LOTUS BLOSSOM was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.
Race 9 – 4/5th Grade 431m
FASHION ADVICE and GIVE YOU CREDIT were best to begin. Shortly after the start ESSAY SPOK shifted out checking KILTY JACK and NINJA LLOYDIE. Entering the back straight NINJA LLOYDIE checked off the heels of SECRET OCTANE and fell, resulting in NINJA LLOYDIE taking no further competitive part in the event. Approaching the top turn GIVE YOU CREDIT checked off the heels of LIL’ BIT SPARKY, resulting in this greyhound losing considerable ground. Shortly after ESSAY SPOK checked off the heels of GIVE YOU CREDIT, resulting in both greyhounds losing ground. SNOWBALL BOB raced extremely wide throughout the home turn.
The greyhound NINJA LLOYDIE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.
Race 10 – 5th Grade 431m
HABABA FLEX and CANDY CRUSH were best to begin. LUKAKU was slow to begin. Through the 1st turn MIGHTY OAK shifted in colliding with PRATER’S FORTUNE, resulting in CANDY CRUSH being checked.
