The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

GENERAL

 

 

Race 1 – Maiden Heat 1 431m

KAMILAROI DUK was best to begin.  Shortly after the start SWEET MANTRA and CELESTIAL SELENE were tightened for racing room between TILLY NO TAIL and SWEET DIMPLE.  Approaching the turn into the back straight TILLY NO TAIL, SWEET MANTRA, CELESTIAL SELENE, NASHOTA and HOBO JANE all raced tight resulting in all greyhounds being tightened for racing and were checked to varying degrees.  Shortly after CELESTIAL SELENE and NASHOTA became unbalanced and stumbled losing considerable ground.  Leaving the back straight SWEET DIMPLE contacted the heels of SWIFT ATTITUDE causing both greyhounds to be checked.  Approaching the turn into the front straight TILLY NO TAIL contacted the heels of HOBO JANE and lost momentum.

 

The greyhound TILLY NO TAIL was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 2 – Maiden Heat 2 431m

SNOWBALL BAZZA and RYAN ROAD were best to begin.  GO FOR HOME was slow out.  Approaching the turn into the back straight SNOWBALL BAZZA and SPRING DODGER collided resulting in SPRING DODGER losing ground.  RYAN ROAD was checked as a result.  Leaving the back straight RYAN ROAD shifted in and made contact with SPRING DODGER causing the greyhound to be checked.

 

Race 3 – Maiden Final 431m

DASH OF FAITH and OIDOS EXTRANOS were best to begin.  AVOID DAMAGE was slow out.  Shortly after the start GAGAN NANCY and SPRING RAYMOND came together resulting in SPRING RAYMOND losing ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight BOOTY BEACH contacted the heels of DASH OF FAITH causing DASH OF FAITH to lose ground.  In the back straight DASH OF FAITH and BOOTY BEACH came together resulting in BOOTY BEACH losing ground.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight ARRIRA came into contact with DASH OF FAITH causing it to shift out and make contact with GAGAN NANCY, which then shifted out and made contact with BOOTY BEACH, resulting in both GAGAN NANCY and BOOTY BEACH being severely checked.

 

The greyhound BOOTY BEACH was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 4 – Novice 431m

SPRING AGUSTUS and TWO BEERS were best to begin.  Shortly after the start WHAT’S FOREVER was tightened for room between LOCH BEN and SNUBBING UNIT and lost some ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight GOOD BYE JOAN and SNUBBING UNIT came together resulting in both greyhounds being checked.  LOCH BEN and WHAT’S FOREVER were checked as a result of this incident.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight GOOD BYE JOAN and SNUBBING UNIT came together resulting in GOOD BYE JOAN losing ground.  Leaving the back straight ASTON UGO contacted the heels of TWO BEERS and was inconvenienced.

 

Race 5 – 5th Grade Final 520m

Even start.  JUST LIKE TINA was best to begin.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight STRING QUARTET contacted the heels of JUST LIKE TINA causing that greyhound to be hampered.  Shortly after BRALYN COOKIE contacted the heels of MACIE’S DINGO and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight PEARLS ANGEL shifted out and tightened the racing room of JUST LIKE TINA causing that greyhound to be checked.  In the front straight PRATER’S PROBLEM turned its head and made muzzle contact with JUST LIKE TINA.

 

Stewards advised trainer Mr. B Prater that the greyhound PRATER’S PROBLEM would be charged under Rule 69 Marring, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 520m all tracks.

 

Race 6 – 4/5th Grade Heat 1 520m

Even start.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight AMY’S ELITE raced tight between PRINCESS CANUTE and NOIR DIABLO resulting in AMY’S ELITE being severely checked and fall.  It was noted that PRINCESS CANUTE and NOIR DIABLO were both checked as a result of this incident.  Shortly thereafter SPRING FIRECHIEF and IRINKA SHANE were both severely checked when clearing the fallen greyhound.

 

The greyhound AMY’S ELITE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 7 – 4/5th Grade Heat 2 520m

ALLEZ DE BRAVE was best to begin.  MR. REALITY stumbled when the boxes were released and as a result was slow out.  Approaching the turn out of the front straight SOLO MISS shifted in and made contact with SHIVERANCE causing that greyhound to become unbalanced and lose ground.  COST A QUID was inconvenienced as a result.  Shortly afterwards SHIVERANCE and HER FAULT came together resulting in SHIVERANCE being checked.  MR. REALITY was inconvenienced as a result of this incident.  Rounding the turn into the back straight COOGAN’S REGRET contacted the heels of COST A QUID causing that greyhound to be inconvenienced.

 

The greyhound SHIVERANCE was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the near side hip support and was stood down for a period of 14 days.

 

Race 8 – 3rd Grade 431m

Even start.  Shortly after the start RHYMTHIC BLUES was tightened for racing room between WINNING NOVA and HOPPING HOUDINI and lost some ground.  Entering the back straight MR. TRANSPORTER shifted out and contacted the heels of SPRING MILLIE and lost some ground.  BROTHER DUK was checked as a result of this incident.  Leaving the back straight WINNING NOVA contacted the heels of SPRING MILLIE and shifted out resulting in it coming into contact with MR. TRANSPORTER and both greyhounds lost ground.

 

Race 9 – 4/5th Grade 431m

LONESOME DUK was best to begin.  SNOWBALL BOB was slow out.  Approaching the turn into the back straight BIG YELLOW TAXI shifted down and made contact with LUKAKU causing that greyhound to lose ground.  Entering the back straight SNOWBALL BOB contacted the heels of MIDNIGHT OWL and lost some ground.  In the back straight BIG YELLOW TAXI shifted out and contacted the hind legs of SPRING TWIG causing that greyhound to be checked and lose ground.  In the back straight SPRING TWIG was tightened for racing room when racing between LIL’ BIT SPARKY and LUKAKU, resulting in SPRING TWIG losing considerable ground.  SNOWBALL BOB raced wide round the home turn.

 

The greyhound SNOWBALL BOB was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the near side hip support and was stood down for a period of 14 days.

 

Race 10 – 5th Grade 431m

SHAYLOR NORRIS, TUKULA, LOAD ME UP and SUNDAY SUNRISE were all best to begin.  KILTY JACK and BRALYN AMY were slow out.  Approaching the turn into the back straight SHAYLOR NORRIS, TUKULA and LOAD ME UP all raced tight, which resulted in LOAD ME UP being checked and lose some ground.  Entering the back straight FYRE GAL contacted the heels of SHAYLOR NORRIS and lost some ground.
