Even start. JAGGER LILLY was tightened for racing room shortly after the start. Approaching the turn into the back straight TEETH GRIEF and SWEET DIMPLE collided, resulting in SWEET DIMPLE being checked. Rounding the turn into the back straight RYLI’S MIA was tightened for racing room, checked and lost some ground. Rounding the turn into the back straight SILK SCEPTRE contacted the heels of SWIFT ATTITUDE, was hampered and lost some ground. In the back straight SWEET DIMPLE shifted in and contacted PENNYLESS causing that greyhound to be checked and lose some ground. In the back straight RYLI’S MIA was tightened for racing room and lost some ground. JAGGER LILLY raced wide rounding the home turn and into the front straight.
The greyhound RYLI’S MIA was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.
The greyhound SILK SCEPTRE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.
The lure in the initial stages malfunctioned stewards were of the view that this did not materially effect and did not have a bearing on the start of the race therefore the ‘all clear’ was given.
PEPE LEPEW was best to begin. Shortly after the start BIRCHY REX and TELEX FINGERS came together causing TELEX FINGERS to be checked. Shortly afterwards ROCKING RONNY and LAUGHING DEVIL came together resulting in both greyhound to become unbalanced and lose some ground. Approaching the turn into the back straight GALWAY LIGHTNING shifted in and made contact with BIRCHY REX causing both greyhounds to be checked. TELEX FINGERS which was trailing was checked as a consequence of this incident. Rounding the turn into the back straight ROCKING RONNY and LAUGHING DEVIL came together, resulting in LAUGHING DEVIL to be checked and race wide. RYAN ROAD raced wide in the back straight. Rounding the turn out of the back straight TELEX FINGERS contacted the heels of GALWAY LIGHTNING and lost ground. Rounding the turn into the front straight GALWAY LIGHTNING and TELEX FINGERS collided. Both greyhounds were checked as a consequence.
The greyhound BIRCHY REX was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.
Race 3 – Maiden Final 431m
GOTTA GET UP, BUSH SPIRIT and SITELLA were best to begin. MCCAW MCCAW was slow to begin. Rounding the turn into the back straight SPRING RAYMOND shifted in and tightened the racing room of BUSH SPIRIT causing that greyhound to be checked and lose ground. MUM GOTTA GUN commenced to give ground in the back straight and finished a considerable distance from the remainder of the field.
The
greyhound MUM GOTTA GUN was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the
off side wrist and was stood down for a period of 14 days.
Race 4 – Novice 431m
RYLI’S DREAMER, SPICY ATTITUDE and BOLD AS BRASH were best to begin. Shortly after the start MOONSTONE MAGIC and PAPER SHOT were tightened for racing room and were checked and lost ground. Rounding the turn into the back straight PAPER SHOT checked off the heels of STEALTH FIGHTER and lost momentum. In the back straight STEALTH FIGHTER and PAPER SHOT came together this caused both greyhounds to be checked. SPICY ATTITUDE raced wide over various stages of the race.
Race 5 – 4/5th
Grade 431m
BIG YELLOW TAXI was best to begin. Approaching the turn into the back straight RYLI’S RANGA and BARCELLA came together, this resulted in BARCELLA being checked and to lose ground. Entering the back straight RYLI’S RANGA contacted the heels of HABANA FLEX causing it to be checked and lost ground. Rounding the turn into the front straight RYLI’S RANGA came into contact with BARCELLA causing RYLI’S RANGA to be severely checked and lose ground.
The greyhound RYLI’S RANGA was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.
Race 6 – 4/5th
Grade Heat 1 520m
JUST LIKE TINA was best to begin. Shortly after the start BASHFUL BABE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground. Rounding the turn out of the front straight IRINKA SHANE shifted out and bumped ISSY COOL, which then in turn shifted out and checked RATATAT. As a consequence BASHFUL BABE made heavy contact with RATATAT and both greyhounds were severely checked and lost considerable ground. In the back straight FAR FROM FEAR checked off the heels of MAYWYN’S YING and lost ground. Leaving the back straight MAYWYN’S YING and IRINKA SHANE came together causing both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.
Race 7 – 4/5th Grade Heat 2 520m
Even start. BRALYN AMY was checked and tightened for racing room shortly after the start. Rounding the turn out of the front straight PACIFIC CHAMP shifted off and made contact on 2 occasions with PEARLS ANGEL causing both greyhounds to be severely checked and lose considerable ground. Entering the front straight in the run to the finish BUN’S GUNS turned its head and made contact with BRALYN AMY.
The greyhound PACIFIC CHAMP was vetted and no apparent injuries were found. Stewards advised trainer Mr. T Tzouvelis that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 (A) Failing to Pursue, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 520m all tracks.
Stewards advised trainer Mr. J Perrett that the greyhound BUN’S GUN would be charged under Rule 69 Marring, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 520m all tracks.
Race 8 – 5th Grade Final 520m
Even start. Shortly after the start MOCHA LATTE was checked for racing room and lost ground. Rounding the turn out of the front straight TRAP MAN contacted the heels of MISS GLENREAGH and was checked as a consequence. Shortly afterwards TRAP MAN shifted out and made contact with SPRING OUT which in turn shifted out and made contact with BLACK CASPER causing all 3 greyhounds to be checked. Approaching the turn into back straight SPRING OUT shifted in and made contact with HER FAULT causing HER FAULT to be checked and lose ground. In the back straight MOCHA LATTE shifted in and made contact with SPRING OUT causing that greyhound to be checked. Rounding the home turn BLACK CASPER and TRAP MAN bumped causing both greyhounds to be hampered. Entering the front straight MOCHA LATTE and SPRING OUT collided, this caused both greyhounds to be hampered.
Race 9 – 5th Grade 431m
The greyhound RYLI’S CAM was vetted pre race and no apparent injuries were found and passed fit to compete.
Even start. RYLI’S CAM and ZARA GIRL came together approaching the turn into the back straight, both greyhounds were checked and lost ground. In the back straight RYLI’S CAM was tightened for racing room and lost some ground.
Race 10 – 5th Grade 431m
FAMECHON and FEARLESS DUK were best to begin. ROYAL ALBERT was slow to begin. Approaching the turn into the back straight TASER SHOCK and FAMECHON collided causing both greyhounds to be checked. HARA’S LUKEY and NEVER ENDS were inconvenienced as a result of this incident. Leading into the back straight HARA’S LUKEY contacted the heels of FAMECHON causing both greyhounds to be checked.
