The greyhound LUKAKU performed a successful satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 520m in a time of 30.84 and is now cleared all tracks except Bundaberg.
RHYTHMIC EARNER was best to begin. Shortly after the start COVERT AFFAIR was checked. Approaching the 1st turn ROCKET’S ANGEL and RYAN ROAD collided. TWICE COOKED was wide through the 1st turn. In the 1st turn COVERT AFFAIR checked off heels. Entering the back straight ROCKET’S ANGEL and DEAD END came together and ROCKET’S ANGEL lost ground. CLASSY BAMQUIN was wide in the back straight. RHYTHMIC EARNER was wide in the top turn.
FLYING CIRCUS, DRAGON DUK and PENNYLESS were best to begin. In the home straight on the 1st occasion SPRING BLONDE checked off the heels of REIGNS. BUSH SPIRIT which was following was inconvenienced and became severely unbalanced. Entering the 1st turn DRAGON DUK and REIGNS came together. DRAGON DUK and SPRING BLONDE raced wide in the 1st turn. Continuing through the turn DRAGON DUK improved onto the heels of REIGNS and both greyhounds became unbalanced. In the top turn DEVELOPER shifted out turning its head towards PENNYLESS which was racing to its outside. Shortly after, both greyhounds collided with BUSH SPIRIT which was following inconvenienced. Through the turn REIGNS turned its head and marred the running of BUSH SPIRIT.
The greyhound DEVELOPER was vetted and no apparent injuries were found. Stewards advised trainer Mr. A Fitzsimmons that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 (A) Failing to Pursue, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 520m all tracks.
Stewards advised trainer’s representative Mr. A Dargusch that the greyhound REIGNS would be charged under Rule 69 Marring, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 520m all tracks.

3 – Novice 431m
Even start. Through the 1st turn FEAR OF JUDY, MAYWYN MOOLA, SHE’S ALL BLONDE, YOWIE HUNTER and QUEEN OF SHOW were tightened and lost ground. YOWIE HUNTER and MAYWYN MOOLA were wide in the back straight. QUEEN OF SHOW and SHE’S ALL BLONDE came together in the home straight.

4 – Novice 520m
Even start. Shortly after the start SOCCER’S OFF was checked. Approaching the 1st turn PEPE LEPEW, BELLA LEE and FOCUE ME were tightened as MURBAH GOLD shifted in and all 3 greyhounds lost ground. ALPHA MIMOS was wide in the 1st turn. Racing through the 1st turn MURBAH GOLD and TOKYO SWIFT collided and TOYKO SWIFT lost ground.
When questioned on the poor performance of PEPE LEPEW trainer Mrs. K Tribe acknowledged that this was the greyhound’s 1st start over the 520m distance and it was evident that the greyhound did not run out the distance. Mrs. Tribe advised that she believed the greyhound may be better suited to the shorter distance and that her plans are to nominate the greyhound over the shorter distance in the future. Stewards advised that the greyhound’s performance was bordering on unsatisfactory.

5 – 5th Grade 431m
KAMILAROI DUK was best to begin. Through the 1st turn SPICY ATTITUDE shifted in tightening IMA SUAREZ and MAGICAL YESSAM. IMA SUAREZ was wide in the back straight. Entering the home straight MAJOR LACHY and SPICY ATTITUDE came together. Through the home straight KAMILAROI DUK was checked as MAGICAL YESSAM improved to its outside. MAJOR LACHY was wide in the home straight.
Race 6 – 5th Grade 520m
MACIE’S DINGO and MISS OLYMPIA were best to begin. Immediately after the start KINLOCH DEE and NO WAY ARNI came together. Shortly after this MISS OLYMPIA shifted in tightening SPLIT SYSTEM. In the home straight on the 1st occasion NO WAY ARNI was tightened. Entering the 1st turn DARCY’S CURSE and GUN LEGACY came together forcing GUN LEGACY onto the running of MACIE’S DINGO which in turn collided with SMART SPIRIT forcing this greyhound wide through the turn. Passing the catching pen SPLIT SYSTEM checked off heels and became unbalanced.

7 – 4/5th Grade 520m
GLOBAL DEEJAY was best to begin. Shortly after the start ARABIAN MELODY and SPECIAL GIRL came together. Entering the 1st turn SPECIAL GIRL and PRINCESS CANUTE were tight and PRINCESS CANUTE lost ground and raced wide through the 1st turn. BRALYN COOKIE was wide through the turn. In the back straight SPECIAL GIRL and BIG YELLOW TAXI were tight and unbalanced. Entering the top SPECIAL GIRL and BIG YELLOW TAXI came together with BIG YELLOW TAXI losing ground.

8 – 5th Grade Final 520m
SHANIA SIND was best to begin. Shortly after the start NOIR DIABLO and MAYWYN’S COPY came together. Approaching the 1st turn SIDBO tightened MISS JAX which lost ground. Shortly after ,EL CHAD shifted out hampering SIDBO. Entering the back straight HARLEY ARE shifted out hampering SIDBO. MISS JAX was wide in the back and home straights.

FEARLESS DUK was best to begin. Through the 1st turn JAXON’S PEDRO checked off heels. Shortly after BLUE SCORPION, SUNDAY SUNRISE, BLACK PARADOX, RYLI’S RANGO and BROTHER DUK were all tight and unbalanced with SUNDAY SUNRISE losing ground. Entering the top turn BROTHER DUK shifted in and lost some ground.
The greyhound BROTHER DUK was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

10 – 5th Grade 431m
MOONLIGHT TYCOON and HEZ SO FAST were best to begin. Through the 1st turn HARA’S SAMUEL checked off heels and WINNING NOVA and GUNNER came together. ZAFONIC’S LADY was forced wider as a result. WINNING NOVA was wide in the back straight. Leaving the back straight HARA’S SAMUEL improved onto the heels of RYLI’S RAMBO. RYLI’S RASMBO was severely checked and took no further competitive part in the event. Over the concluding stages FYRE GAL shifted in tightening MOONLIGHT TYCOON.
The
greyhound RYLI’S RAMBO was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the
near side shoulder and was stood down for a period of 6 weeks.
