VETERINARY EXAMINATIONS

 

The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

Race 10           BROTHER DUK                   Injured in running, near side hip, 6 weeks

Race 10           BIG YELLOW TAXI                        Injured in running, off side pin, 14 days

 

GENERAL

 

The greyhound ELITE COMANDO performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.46 and is now cleared to nominate all tracks.

 

The greyhound LONE GUN performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.36 and is now cleared to nominate all tracks.

 

Race 1 – Maiden 520m

ARABELLA, DRAGON DUK and BUSH SPIRIT were slow to begin.  On the 1st turn RYAN ROAD shifted in and hampered ARABELLA.  Approaching the top turn ERIN’S OWN shifted in and tightened DRAGON DUK resulting in both greyhounds losing ground.  Rounding the home turn RYAN ROAD shifted out checking BUSH SPIRIT.

 

The greyhound ERIN’S OWN was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 2 – Novice 520m

CARTEL QUEEN was slow to begin.  EL MUFASA raced wide throughout.

 

Race 3 – 5th Grade 431m

HIGHLIFE was best to begin.  Shortly after NEVER THE TRUTH was tightened for room and lost ground.  Entering the back straight PROTO PENNY and TRAP MAN were tightened and lost ground.  Out of the back straight SOCIAL DANCER was checked and lost ground.  Rounding the home turn NEVER THE TRUTH was checked off heels and raced wide from that point.

 

Race 4 – 5th Grade Corporate Dollars Challenge Heat 1 520m

BARCELLA was best to begin.  Shortly after, FLYING CIRCUS shifted in tightening POCAHONTAS and ANNIE ELLEN.  Into the 1st turn FLYING CIRCUS shifted out across the heels of JUST LIKE TINA and lost ground.  In the straight FLYING CIRCUS improved onto the heels of the weakening POCAHONTAS and knuckled, losing ground.

 

Race 5 – 5th Grade Corporate Dollars Challenge Heat 2 520m

Even start.  Approaching the 1st turn HER FAULT was tightened and lost ground.  Passing the catching pen TEXAS TEE improved onto heels and lost ground, resulting in this greyhound racing wide.  Into the back straight NO WAY ARNI sustained an injury and took no further competitive part in the event.

 

The greyhound NO WAY ARNI was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the off side hamstring and was stood down for a period of 21 days.

 

Race 6 - 5th Grade Corporate Dollars Challenge Heat 3 520m

MOCHA LATTE and QUEENIE’S BEST were best to begin.  MAYWYN’S COPY and DOWN THEY CAME were slow to begin.  Shortly after MAYWYN’S COPY contacted the heels of EL CHAD and lost ground.  DOWN THEY CAME raced wide throughout.  Leaving the back straight EL CHAD was severely hampered and lost ground.  MAYWYN’S COPY raced wide rounding the home turn.

 

Race 7 – 5th Grade Corporate Dollars Challenge Heat 4 520m

SHANAE’S MAGIC and TOKYO SWIFT were best to begin with MACIE’S DINGO slow.  Turning in to the back straight ANGRY ALICE was checked and GORILLA EYES and MACIE’S DINGO which were following were inconvenienced and forced wide.

 

Race 8 - 5th Grade Corporate Dollars Challenge Heat 5 520m

LIL’ BIT SPARKY was slow to begin and GIFT BOX was best.  Shortly after INSIDE PASS was crowded for room and lost ground.  MISS JAX which was racing to the inside was inconvenienced, losing its position.  Through the 1st turn EARNING and GIFT BOX bumped, resulting in both greyhounds becoming unbalanced.  MISS JAX raced extremely wide in the home straight.

 

Race 9 – 4/5th Grade 431m

SUNDAY SUNRISE was best to begin.  Through the 1st turn HEZ SO FAST, FEARLESS DUK and PEARLS A PLENTY were all tightened for room.  FEARLESS DUK and PEARLS A PLENTY lost significant ground.  HEZ SO FAST raced wide throughout.

 

Race 10 – 5th Grade 431m

Even start.  Turning into the back straight THREADS and OUT WEST were both checked and lost ground.  In the back straight BROTHER DUK sustained an injury and took no further competitive part in the event.

 

The greyhound BROTHER DUK was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the near side hip and was stood down for a period of 6 weeks.

 

The greyhound BIG YELLOW TAXI was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the off side pin and was stood down for a period of 14 days.
