VETERINARY EXAMINATIONS

The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

GENERAL

The greyhound PACIFIC CHAMP performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 520m in a time of 31.18 and is now cleared to nominate all tracks.

Race 1 – Maiden 431m

TRANSMEDIA was best to begin. SMASHNIAK HARA was tightened for room on jumping away. Out of the 1^st turn KAMIKAZE TURTLE was checked and lost ground.

The greyhound SMASHNIAK HARE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

The greyhound KAMIKAZE TURTLE was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the near hind foot and was stood down for a period of 14 days.

Race 2 – Maiden 431m

HOBO JANE, INDIGO EBBE and DASHING CHARGER were best to begin. Through the 1^st turn BULK TOOTH BUCKY was checked off heels and shifted out checking WINDORAH JACK and INDIGO EBBE, resulting in all greyhounds losing ground. Out of the 1^st turn WINDORAH JACK shifted in checking BULK TOOTH BUCKY resulting in BULK TOOTH BUCKY losing ground.

The greyhound BULK TOOTH BUCKY was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

Race 3 – Novice 431m

Even start. Into the 1^st turn ITALIAN MAGIC, STEALTH FIGHTER and DOOLEY’S SPRITE all raced tight. Through the 1^st turn FAMOUS FOR FUN was checked off heels, resulting in DOOLEY’S SPRITE which was following to be inconvenienced and forced wider. TEETH GRIEF raced wide throughout the event. Over the concluding stages DOOLEY’S SPRITE was checked off heels.

Race 4 – Novice 431m

MAYWYN NEVER and JASMINE HOLLY were slow to begin. Into the 1^st turn SHE’S ALL BLONDE shifted out bumping HOOP DREAMS which then in turn put SMASHNIAK MARS into racing line of MAYWYN NEVER, BIG BAGO and JASMINE HOLLY, which were following resulting in all greyhounds being severely checked and losing considerable ground. Out of the 1^st turn HOOP DREAMS was checked off the heels of SHELIA DOOLEY. Rounding the home turn SHE’S ALL BLONDE turned its head out marring the running of HOOP DREAMS. MAYWYN NEVER raced very wide rounding the home turn and concluding stages.

Stewards advised trainer Mr. D Sykes that the greyhound SHE’S ALL BLONDE would be charged under Rule 69 Marring, 1^st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 431m all tracks.

Race 5 – 4/5^th Grade Heat 1 431m

MAYWYN ZILCH was best to begin. Into the 1^st turn CANE D’ORO was bumped and became unbalanced. Rounding the home turn MELODY SERENADE shifted out bumping BEAR FOR BREAKY, resulting in that greyhound and KIKEM SPRINGER which was following became unbalanced.

Race 6 - 4/5^th Grade Heat 2 431m

MARINER’S BEACH was best to begin. HABANA FLEX, ULTIMATE BOMBER and SIR TIGER OSTI were all tightened for room racing through the 1^st turn. MR. REALITY which was following was checked off heels and forced wider. Through the home turn ARABIAN MELODY was checked off heels and lost ground.

Race 7 – 5^th Grade Final 431m

FYRE GAL was slow to begin. Through the 1^st turn BIG RED DEVIL was tightened for room and forced wider. Through the home turn COST A QUID was inconvenienced and raced wide.

Race 8 – 4/5^th Grade 520m

SHE CAN DO was slow to begin. Shortly after the start INDIANA RUMBLE was tightened for room. Through the home turn INSIDE PASS was checked off heels and lost ground.

Race 9 – 4/5^th Grade Heat 3 431m

Even start. MAGIC FLY HIGH raced wide through the 1^st turn until a point rounding the home turn.

Race 10 – 4/5^th Grade Heat 4 431m

BOO BOO CHILD and GUNNER were both slow to begin. Into the 1^st turn ROYAL ALBERT and POCAHONTAS were both tightened for room and lost ground. In this incident IT’S MY TIME also became unbalanced. Into the home turn BOO BOO CHILD was checked off heels and lost ground.
