GENERAL

 

 

Race 1 – Vince Curry Memorial Maiden Heat 1 520m

DODGY DANCER was best to begin.  Shortly after there was tightening between SUKHOI, KATIE GELZINNIS, SPEED IT UP and CHILLED HEAT,  all greyhounds suffered interference.  At the same point of the race BLISS BOMB shifted out becoming unbalanced.  Approaching the 1st turn SUKHOI and SPEED IT UP collided.  Into the 1st turn CHILLED HEAT, BLISS BOMB and WINSMIT were all severely checked resulting in BLISS BOMB falling and taking no further competitive part in the event.  KATIE GELZINNIS and SPEED IT UP which were following suffered severe interference, both greyhounds lost considerable ground.  Over the concluding stages SPEED IT UP marred the running of KATIE GELZINNIS.

 

The greyhound BLISS BOMB was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the off side elbow and was humanely euthanised.

 

Stewards advised trainer Mr. T Brett that the greyhound SPEED IT UP would be charged under Rule 69 Marring, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 520m all tracks.

 

Race 2 – Vince Curry Memorial Maiden Heat 2 520m

NOIRE CHERIE was best to begin.  CAVALCADE was slowest.  Shortly after PUNCH RIGHT OUT shifted out making contact with TIP YA CAP, resulting in both greyhounds becoming unbalanced.  Approaching the 1st turn ZALHANI clipped the heels of CYNO STEIN and fell.  LEEROY ROGUE which was following was severely checked and PUNCH RIGHT OUT was inconvenienced and forced wider.  ZALHANI took no further competitive part in the event.  Approaching the back turn TIP YA CAP shifted in tightening the running of CYNO STEIN causing both greyhounds to lose ground.

 

The greyhound ZALHANI was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

Race 3 – Vince Curry Memorial Maiden Heat 3 520m

Even start.  Approaching the 1st turn GOTCHA NOW and SMASHNIAK MARCY were crowded for room, both losing their positions.  Over the concluding stages PARTY VILLAGE marred the running of JUST PRETEND causing JUST PRETEND to lose ground.

 

Stewards advised trainer Ms. V Wisener that the greyhound PARTY VILLAGE would be charged under Rule 69 Marring, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 520m all tracks.

 

Race 4 - Vince Curry Memorial Maiden Heat 4 520m

DASHING BRADSTA and BEC’S DIAMOND were best to begin.  OBI KENOBI, PAUA TO AVOID and LUCY MOO were slowest.  Approaching the 1st turn AFRICANO and MY NAME’S JEFF bumped on several occasions.  Through the 1st turn PAUA TO AVOID shifted in resulting in DASHING BRADSTA being checked across heels.  Approaching the back turn AFRICANO was tightened for room and lost ground.

 

Race 5 – Vince Curry Memorial Maiden Heat 5 520m

The start of this race was delayed 40 minutes due to a lure malfunction.

 

LUCKY SALLY was best to begin,  LITTLE LATE SHOW and JACK’S BLACK were slowest.  Into the 1st turn VAN GISBERGEN checked across the heels of BUCKETTE.  Over the concluding stages LITTLE LATE SHOW failed to pursue.

 

The greyhound LITTLE LATE SHOW was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.  Stewards advised trainer’s representative Mrs. C Harman that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 (A) Failing to Pursue, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 520m all tracks.

 

Race 6 - Vince Curry Memorial Maiden Heat 6 520m

WITCH HUNTER, SPLIT IMAGE and ON THE CLOCK were best to begin.  Shortly after FRENDY bumped CYNO MIRAGE causing it to become unbalanced.  Into the 1st turn MY FIRST SIZE was crowded for room and lost ground.  Leaving the 1st turn MY FIRST SIZE was tightened and lost ground.  Approaching the back turn BENMESSO shifted in resulting in MY FIRST SIZE being checked.

 

Race 7 – Vince Curry Memorial Maiden Heat 7 520m

Even start.  Shortly after all runners with the exception of BEL AIR MIST and WEE BIT LUCKY suffered interference to varying degrees.  Approaching the 1st turn MILES OF SMILES suffered an injury and took no further competitive part in the event.  Approaching the back turn WEE BIT LUCKY was tightened and lost ground.  Through the back turn ARDVARK clipped heels and became unbalanced.  OUTBACK SPARKLE was also tightened resulting in this greyhound falling.  Rounding the home turn FONIC THUNDER and ARDVARK collided.

 

The greyhound OUTBACK SPARKLE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound MILES OF SMILES was vetted and found to have suffered an injury to the near fore leg and was stood down for a period of 14 days.  Stewards advised trainer Mr. M Boody that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 71 Unsatisfactory Performance, must perform a satisfactory

stewards’ trial 520m all tracks prior to nominating.

 

Race 8 – Vince Curry Memorial Maiden Heat 8 520m

The start of this race was delayed due to the electrics on the starting boxes becoming faulty, This start was manually  hand started.

 

Even start.  Shortly after SMACK DAB became unbalanced when bumped.  Approaching the 1st turn WITH HELD was checked and lost ground.  Into the 1st turn MCCAW MCCAW and GUY FAWKES ran out of racing room and were both inconvenienced.  Through the 1st turn MCCAW MCCAW and CYNO SNIP checked across heels.  Both greyhounds lost ground.

 

Race 9 – 4/5th Grade 520m

Due to the electrics on the starting boxes becoming faulty, This start was manually hand started.

 

SPRING SHANGHAI was slow to begin.  SPRING MILLIE was best.  Shortly after VELOCITY MYSTIC was tightened and lost its position.  Approaching the 1st turn SPRING SHANGHAI was tight and lost ground.  Approaching the back turn GIFTED ANGEL was checked off heels.  Rounding the home turn CIGAR SAM checked across the heels of SPRING MILLIE.

 

Race 10 – 4/5th Grade 431m

KILTY JACK was slow to begin.  Into the 1st turn KEWIN UP, SUNDAY SUNRISE and OUR ELITE were all tightened for room, resulting in OUR ELITE becoming unbalanced and KEWIN UP and SUNDAY SUNRISE losing ground.  SUNDAY SUNRISE and KILTY JACK both raced wide for the majority.
