SIGARLA and KNOCKER KNOCK were best to begin.  Shortly after the start SPIRITUAL MAN and TRANQUILO DIABLO bumped resulting in TRANQUILO DIABLO to be hampered.  On entering the 1st turn BIG BOY BATINA was tightened for room and checked.  Rounding the 1st turn into the back straight SPRING ROCCA shifted outwards across the heels of SPECIAL SHOW and collided with DROP SHORT and SPIRITUAL MAN resulting in all greyhounds being checked.  On entering the back straight SIGARLA was tightened for room and checked.  Leaving the back straight BIG BOY BATINA was tightened for room and checked.  Rounding the turn into the front straight SIGARLA was tightened for room and checked.  BIG BOY BATINA which was trailing was hampered and forced wider on the turn as a result of this incident.  SPIRITUAL MAN was wide in the back straight.  BIG BOY BATINA was wide in the front straight.

 

The greyhound SPRING ROCCA underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

SKY RACING MAIDEN HEAT 2 431M

SPYING GAME, TITLE and BOGIE COMET were best to begin.  At the start NAUGHTY MAX abruptly shifted inwards making heavy contact with YOU JANE which was checked.  IT’S ABOUT TIME which was to its inside was severely checked as a result of this incident.  On entering the 1st turn SPRING DOTTIE and TITLE were tightened for room and checked.  Rounding the 1st turn TITLE, IT’S ABOUT TIME, NAUGHTY MAX and PASS THE AMMO were all tightened for room and checked.  Leaving the back straight into the turn IT’S ABOUT TIME was tightened for room and hampered.  Shortly after TITLE contacted the heels of SPRING DOTTIE resulting in TITLE to be checked and shift wider on the turn and SPRING DOTTIE being hampered.  IT’S ABOUT TIME was wide in the back and front straight.

 

After the running of this event trainer Mr. P Hay was questioned on the difficulty of the greyhound BRONCO BOY being placed in the starting boxes. Mr. Hay was notified that if the greyhound was difficult to place again in its next start it would be declared as a ‘hard to box’ greyhound.

 

The greyhound IT’S ABOUT TIME underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

ALPHA FINANCIAL SERVICES MAIDEN FINAL 431M

PETITE LA FEMME and SPRING ELLIE were best to begin.  DU HAST was very slow to begin.  Rounding the turn into the back straight GET SHORTY was tightened for room and checked.  Leaving the back straight into the turn PETITE LA FEMME was tightened for room and hampered. RUN RIVA RUN and DON’T TOUCH raced wide in the back and front straights.

Even start.  Shortly after the start NOVA PARTY, WHAT A MESS, THUNDER OF FIRE and KERRYZA GUNN all raced tight and were checked.  On entering the back straight THUNDER OF FIRE collided with WHAT A MESS resulting in WHAT A MESS to fall and take no further competitive part in the event. NOVA PARTY which was trailing collided with WHAT A MESS and to also fall taking no further competitive part in the event.  KERRYZA GUNN and SENNI LUCILLE were wide in the back and front straight.

 

The greyhound NOVA PARTY underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

GATTON TYRE SERVICE 5th GRADE 431M

NO NONSENSE was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start TWO SIZE’S ALL, SPRING BIG IRON, LIL’ BIT SPARKY and BARTHOLOMEW all raced tight and were checked.  Rounding the turn into the back straight NO NONSENSE improved onto the heels of TWO SIZE’S ALL resulting in both greyhounds being checked.  Leaving the back straight into the turn HARA’S BLAZE was tightened for room and checked.  Rounding the turn into the front straight LIL’ BIT SPARKY contacted the heels of MAX WEDGE resulting in MAX WEDGE to be checked and shift outwards.  MR. DEXTER which was racing to its outside was hampered as a consequence.  NO NONSENSE was wide in the back straight.

GOLDEN VIEW GREYHOUND COMPLEX 4/5th GRADE 431M

Even start.  Shortly after the start GAGAN NANCY and HARA’S SAMUEL all raced tight and were checked.  On entering the 1st turn GAGAN NANCY abruptly shifted outwards across the heels of HARA’S SAMUEL and was severely checked.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight BLACKWOOD BURST was tightened for room and checked.  Rounding the turn into the front straight GAGAN NANCY collided with HARA’S SAMUEL resulting in both greyhounds being checked.  Shortly after BLACKWOOD BURST made contact with the running rail.

 

Mr. G Boody was fined $50 for negligence in beginning to place his greyhound in the starting boxes before being directed by the starter.

 

The greyhound BLACKWOOD BURST underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

GIFTED ANGEL and NOT THE ONE were best to begin.  TARA MARRIE, NACEY’S HERO and TABBERER were slow to begin.  On entering the 1st turn HURUNUI HAMISH was tightened for room and checked.  Shortly after TARA MARRIE contacted the heels of GIFTED ANGEL resulting in TARA MARRIE to be checked and GIFTED ANGEL to be hampered.  Leaving the turn into the back straight TABBERER was tightened for room and checked.  Rounding the turn into the front straight TABBERER shifted outwards across the heels of TARA MARRIE and was checked.

GJ WALSH &CO BEST 8 431M

Even start.  Shortly after the start SON OF PRADA and SIMPLY MAGIC collided resulting in both greyhounds being momentarily hampered.  On entering the 1st turn HARRY BAILEY, DODGY DANCER, SON OF PRADA and HARA’S BRACELET all raced tight and were checked.  SIMPLY MAGIC and BIRKDALE BEAUTY which were trailing were hampered as a result.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight HARA’S BRACELET was tightened for room and checked.  DODGY DANCER and BIRKDALE BEAUTY were wide in the back straight.  DODGY DANCER was wide in the front straight.

 

The greyhound HARA’S BRACELEY underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the near side pin and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

GENTABLUE PET FOOD 5th GRADE 431M

LIGHTNING WHITE and SPRING HONEY were slow to begin.  Shortly after the start RHONDDA MINER and HURRICANE CHANCE collided resulting in both greyhounds being checked.  On entering the 1st turn SPRING HONEY contacted the hindquarters of STEP BACK LASS resulting in both greyhounds being checked.  Leaving the 1st turn into the back straight LIGHTNING WHITE was tightened for room and checked.  Leaving the back straight into the turn HURRICANE CHANCE was tightened for room and checked. In the back straight RHONDDA MINER and MAYWYN WILL WIN were wide. In the front straight RHONDDA MINER was wide.

DRAGON DANCER and SPRING CRUSHER were best to begin.  SPRING TWIG was slow to begin.  Entering the 1st turn DASH OF FAITH and MONLOR KIM collided resulting in both greyhounds being checked.  GENERAL HUNTER which was trailing was hampered as a consequence and shifted wider on the turn.  Leaving the back straight into the turn CLASSIC TERRA was tightened for room and checked.  MONLOR KIM which was trailing was hampered as a result.  In the front straight GRAVITY WOLF improved onto the heels of SPRING CRUSHER and collided with that runner resulting in SPRING CRUSHER being checked.  GENERAL HUNTER was wide in the back straight.

 

The greyhound SPRING CRUSHER underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.
