The greyhound GRIM CREEPER performed a satisfactory 6 month trial over the distance of 431m in a time of 24.98.

 

RACE REPORTS

 

1.

CRANNEY’S NURSERY MAIDEN 431M

HAVANA BLACK was best to begin.  Shortly after the start YOU JANE and BIG BOY BATINA collided.  Through the 1st turn YOU JANE, BIG BOY BATINA and PASS THE AMMO were all checked through tight racing and lost some ground.  Entering the back straight BIG BOY BATINA was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn into the front straight HAVANA BLACK was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

PORTA LAWYERS MAIDEN FINAL 520M

GEAR UP was best to begin.  Shortly after the start DIAMOND FLUSH and FROSTY ZERO collided.  Approaching the turn out of the front straight FROSTY ZERO which was tightened for racing room, checked and fell as a consequence taking no further competitive part in the race.  PORT LISA which was trailing was checked as a result of this incident.  Approaching the turn into the back straight PORT LISA pulled up and took no further part in the event.  Entering the back straight DIAMOND FLUSH checked across the heels of VELOCITY ALLY and was momentarily hampered.  DIAMOND ROBYNE raced wide in the back straight.

 

The greyhound FROSTY ZERO underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound POST LISA underwent a post race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the near hind back muscle and was stood down for a period of 14 days.

INFLATABLE WORLD IPSWICH NOVICE 520M

Even start.  Leaving the front straight WATCH OUT RENALD checked across the heels of TAKEN NOVA and MIGHTY NOVA and was checked as a consequence and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight REAL CALL was tightened for racing room, checked and fell as a consequence taking no further competitive part in the race. WATCH OUT RENALD which was trailing was severely checked as a consequence.  Rounding the turn into the front straight GUN POWER and MIGHTY NOVA collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked.

 

The greyhound REAL CALL underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound GUN POWER underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.  When questioned trainer Mr. R Kedge reported that in his view GUN POWER received some minor interference leaving the back straight which then placed his greyhound at a disadvantage and raced on the wrong foot for some distance which may have contributed to the greyhound losing ground at that stage of the event.  After considering the evidence stewards noted Mr. Kedge’s explanation.

WINN PLUMBING 5th GRADE 520M

SHUNT MAN and SHEZA RULER were best to begin.  BUSH SPIRIT and SIZEABLE were slow to begin.  Approaching the turn out of the front straight CYNO MIRAGE checked across the heels of VELOCITY KALINA and was momentarily hampered.  Leaving the back straight SIZEABLE ane SHEZA RULER collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  UNIQUE GHOSTY which was trailing was checked as a consequence.  Entering the front straight VELOCITY KALINA and SHUNT MAN collided resulting in both greyhounds to be momentarily hampered.

5.

THE PITKINS 5th GRADE 431M

Even start.  Shortly after the start DAZE FLYBY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Through the 1st turn TINY TURBO, HURRICANE CHANCE, BLITZ ‘EM, MAD WEDGE, PEBBLE BAY and DAZE FLYBY were all tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

 

The greyhound WATCH OUT RENAUD underwent a post race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off side pin and was stood down for a period of 14 days.

MCNAMARA & ASSOCIATES 5th GRADE 431M

Even start with the exception of SILVER CROWN and BLUE TARTAN which were marginally slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn THRILLA MACHINE, SPRING AGUSTUS, HYDROGEN and CHAMPAGNE BENZ all raced tight resulting in all greyhounds to be checked and lose ground to varying degrees.  Shortly after SILVER CROWN and HYDROGEN collided resulting in HYDROGEN to be checked and lose ground.  BLUE TARTAN which was trailing was checked as a consequence.  Entering the back straight SILVER CROWN was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  BOXING ROO GIRL raced wide rounding the home turn.  RUM RAMBLER which was racing to its outside was hampered as a consequence.

CENTENARY GLASS AND MIRROR 4/5th GRADE FINAL 431M

Even start with the exception of JANE’S JEZABEL which was slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn MARLO GOOD shifted in and made contact with the running rail then shifted out and made heavy contact with JANE’S JEZABEL resulting in both greyhounds to be severely checked and lose considerable ground.

 

The greyhound MARLO GOOD underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

8.

ACTION INDOOR SPORTS QLD 4/5th GRADE 520M

Even start.  Shortly after the start ASTON JADORE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Entering the back straight ASTON JADORE improved onto the heels of MAGIC SPARKLE and was checked as a consequence.  MAGIC SPARKLE commenced to give ground rounding the home turn and finished a considerable distance from the remainder of the field.

 

The greyhound MAGIC SPARKLE underwent a post race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off side hock and was stood down for a period of 12 weeks.

ACTION INDOOR SPORTS VICTORIA POINT 5th GRADE 431M

SURE YOU CAN, SOUTHERN FLOSS and AVAMAY were best to begin.  VELOCITY EBONY was extremely slow to begin.  Approaching the 1st turn GUY FAWKES checked across the heels of ICY GIRL and was momentarily hampered.  In the front straight SOUTHERN FLOSS checked across the heels of HOLD MY BEER and was momentarily hampered.

10.

THE GENERALS LAST HOORAH 5th GRADE 431M

Even start.  Through the 1st turn ZABDON NUGGET and THROTTLE ON collided.  Shortly after COST A QUID and SPRING TWIG collided.  In the front straight during the later stages of the race SUNNYSIDE PARK and DRAGON DANCER collided.
