The greyhound DEEP DESPAIR performed a satisfactory 6 month trial over the distance of 431m in a time of 26.00.

Even start with the exception of SPIRITUAL MAN which was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start SLIP MY MIND and SPECTRAILLE collided resulting in SLIP MY MIND to be checked and stumble.  Shortly after SPECTRAILLE and BIG DIPPA collided resulting in BIG DIPPA to be hampered.  Upon entering the 1st turn NIKITA’S GLAMOUR and NANTUCKET KAHN collided resulting in both greyhounds being hampered.  SPECTRAILLE which was trailing was checked and forced wider on the turn as a result.  Shortly after NIKIT’AS GLAMOUR was tightened for room and severely checked.  SLIP MY MIND which was trailing was hampered as a result.  Leaving the turn into the back straight NANTUCKET KAHN was tightened for room and checked.  SLIP MY MIND and SISTA MARGARITA which were trailing were hampered as a result.  Entering turn out of the back straight SLIP MY MIND and SISTA MARGARITA were tightened for room and checked.

 

The greyhound SLIP MY MIND underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

SKY RACING MAIDEN HEAT 2 431M

BRONCO BOY and FROSTY BEJAY were slow to begin.  Shortly after the start FROSTY BEJAY and HARBOUR MISS were tightened for room and hampered.  Upon entering the 1st turn BRONCO BOY, HARBOUR MISS and ISSUE were tightened for room resulting in ISSUE to be hampered and BRONCO BOY to be checked.  FROSTY BEJAY which was tailing was hampered and shifted wider on the turn as a result.  In the back straight POUNCING LILLIE checked inwards across the heels of MIDNIGHT BUTRN and lost ground.  HARBOUR MISS which was trailing was hampered as a result.  Leaving the back straight into the turn POUNCING LILLY checked outwards across the heels of WAY OF SHADOWS.  HARBOUR MISS which was racing to its outside was hampered and forced wider on the turn as a result.  Through the turn out of the back straight MIDNIGHT BURN and ISSUE collided resulting in MIDNIGHT BURN to be checked.  Rounding the turn into the front straight BRONCO BOY checked outwards across the heels of FROSTY BEJAY.

ALPHA FINANCIAL SERVICES MAIDEN FINAL 431M

SAMANTHA BENZ, DROP SHORT and BINALONG ROAD were slow to begin.  Upon entering the 1st turn SPRING DOLLY, ESCALA and SPRING ERNIE were tightened for room and checked.  Shortly after SAMANTHA BENZ shifted outwards colliding with DROP SHORT who was checked.  BINALONG ROAD which was racing to its outside was hampered and forced wider on the turn as a result.  Entering the turn out of the back straight SPRING DOLLY and SPRING ERNIE were tightened for room and severely checked.  Shortly after ESCALA was tightened for room and hampered.  BINALONG ROAD was wide in the back straight.

ICE PANTHER, WILDASH GEE and BENTAXLE were slow to begin.  Shortly after the start SPRING RECALL and FARMOR SNIPPETS bumped resulting in FARMOR SNIPPETS to be hampered.  Approaching the 1st turn WILDASH GEE was tightened for room and checked.  Upon entering the 1st turn BENTAXLE was tightened for room and hampered.  Through the 1st turn NINA ROSE HI was tightened for room and checked.  FARMOR SNIPPETS which was trailling was checked as a result.  Rounding the turn into the back straight SPRING RECALL was tightened for room and hampered.  ICE PANTHER which was trailing was severely checked and forced wider in the back straight as a result.  FARMOR SNIPPETS which was racing to ICE PANTHER’s outside was hampered as a result.  Leaving the back straight into the turn SPRING RECALL was tightened for room and checked.  NINA ROSE HI which was trailling was hampered as a result.  ICE PANTHER was wide in the back straight.

GATTON TYRE SERVICE NOVICE 431M

SPYING GAME was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start ACE was tightened for room and checked.  AUGUST FLAME and TAKEN NOVA which were trailing were checked as a result.  Upon entering the 1st turn AUGUST FLAME was tightened for room and severely checked.  Through the 1st turn SENNI LUCILLE checked outwards across the heels of ON THE WALL and collided with ACE which was also checked as a result.  SPYING GAME which was to its outside was checked and forced wider on the turn.  Leaving the back straight into the turn TAKEN NOVA and ACE were tightened for room and checked.  SENNI LUCILLE and SPYING GAME which were trialling were hampered as a result.  Rounding the turn into the front straight TAKEN NOVA and SENNI LUCILLE bumped resulting in SENNI LUCILLE to be checked and forced wider on the straight.  Shortly after SPYING GAME collided with TAKEN NOVA resulting in both greyhounds being hampered.  SENNI LUCILLE was wide in the back and front straights.

GOLDEN VIEW GREYHOUNDS COMPLEX 5th GRADE 431M

Even start with the exception of DREAM OF SPEED, SPRING TWIG and HOLD MY BEER which were marginally slow to begin.  Shortly after the start DREAM OF SPEED, SPRING TWIG and HOLD MY BEER were tightened for room and checked.  On entering the 1st turn DAYSEAS RIGG and SOCIAL DANCER were tightened for room and checked.  Rounding the turn into the back straight DREAM OF SPEED improved onto the heels of SOCIAL DANCER resulting in SOCIAL DANCER to be hampered and DREAM OF SPEED to be checked.

SPRING AGUSTUS was best to begin.  Shortly after the start PACIFIC HARBOUR, FABULOUS STORM and GAGAN were tightened for room and checked.  Upon entering the 1st turn CROWN EDDIE shifted inwards colliding with SPIKE BENZ which was checked as a result.  Through the 1st turn SPIKE BENZ checked outwards across the heels of CROWN EDDIE.  PACIFIC HARBOUR and FABULOUS STORM which were trailing were checked as a result.  Leaving the turn into the back straight GENERAL CLOUD collided with GAGAN which was checked as a result.  Leaving the back straight into the turn FABULOUS STORM was tightened for room and checked.

 

The greyhound PACIFIC HARBOUR underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

GJ WALSH & CO 4/5th GRADE 520M

MAYWYN’S YING was slow to begin.  Approaching the 1st turn SPLIT SYSTEM was tightened for room and hampered.  Shortly after MAYWYN’S YING bumped MAYWYN’S COPY which was checked as a result.  Through the 1st turn MAYWYN’S YING bumped TECHNO LADY which was checked as a result.  TECHNO LADY was wide in the home straight.

 

The greyhound FASHION ADVICE underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.  After the running of the event stewards questioned trainer Mrs. D Hannon concerning the performance of the greyhound. Stewards were initially concerned with the greyhound appearing to fade rounding the turn out of the back straight and into the front straight. Trainer D. Hannon advised the stewards that the greyhound performed to its potential while racing against a better field of greyhounds. Stewards noted the trainers explanation.

NAOMI ROSE HI was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start VALKYRIE CANDY and AUBERON collided resulting in AUBERON to be checked.  LOTS OF TIME which was trailing was hampered as a result.  Rounding the turn into the back straight NAOMI ROSE HI was tightened for room and momentarily hampered.  Leaving the back straight into the turn VALKYRIE CANDY and AUBERON collided resulting in VALKYRIE CANDY to be hampered.  SPRING TRIXIE was wide in the back straight.

Even start with the exception of FROSTY FLYER and SPRING IT ON which were marginally slow to begin.  Upon entering the 1st turn GRAVITY WOLF, SOUTHERN FLOSS, RHONDDDA MINER and ELL’S ALL CLASS were tightened for room and checked.  FROSTY FLYER and SPRING IT ON which were trailing were checked as a result.  Through the turn into the back straight STELLA ROSE HI was tightened for room and checked.  RHONDDA MINER which was trailing was checked as a result.  Leaving the back straight into the turn ELL’S ALL CLASS rounding the turn into the front straight FROSTY FLYER collided with CINDY CEE which was checked as a result and forced wider on the turn.

 

The greyhound ELL’S ALL CLASS underwent a post-race veterinary examination and found to have suffered an injury to the off side pin and was stood down for a period of 28 days.
