Even start with the exception of AKKATOR which was marginally slow to begin.  Shortly after the start PHANTOM HENRY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight DEL REY and SALUDOS collided resulting in SALUDOS to be checked and lose ground.  Shortly after KIOWA BROOK and PRATER’S PROMISE collided resulting in PRATER’S PROMISE to be checked and lose ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight DORIE’S PICK and DEL REY collided resulting in DORIE’S PICK to be checked and lose ground.  KIOWA BROOK and JALAPENO bumped on several occasions in the back straight.

GOLDEN VIEW GREYHOUND COMPLEX MAIDEN HEAT 2 520M

Even start.  Shortly after the start BONKNOCKA LASS was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Shortly after WAZZA QUEEN was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight MAURICE MINOR and CODRINGTON KID collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  PALLINGTON which was trailing was checked as a consequence and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight BONKNOCKA PRINCE and CODRINGTON KID collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight MUSTANG NOVA was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  WAZZA QUEEN which was racing to its outside was checked as a consequence and lost ground.  Entering the front straight CYCLONE BARCI and CODRINGTON KID collided.  Shortly after BONKNOCKA LASS and PALLINGTON collided.

GREYHOUND OF THE YEAR – HARRY BAILEY NOVICE 520M

VELOCITY ALLY was best to begin.  Shortly after the start KAPPA NU was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  KAPPA NU raced wide rounding the turn out of the front straight.  Approaching the turn into the back straight THUNDER OF FIRE checked across heels and collided with CYNO ROSA resulting in CYNO ROSA to be checked and lose ground.

FASHION ADVICE was best to begin.  NACEY’S HERO was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start PATRONUS was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Through the first turn PEBBLE BAY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight LITTLE ACH CEE and THIS TIME MADDIE collided resulting in THIS TIME MADDIE to be checked and lose ground.  SPRING BONANZA and NACEY’S HERO were both checked as a result of this incident and lost ground.  Entering the back straight PEBBLE BAY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

GENTABLUE PET FOOD 5th GRADE 431M

Even start with the exception of SAMANTHA BENZ which was slow to begin.  Through the first turn GUN DANCER, TRISHA NOLAN, DARK SMIFFY, ENKA ALLEN, SAMANTHA BENZ, ALEEAH JET and SENOR’S HEIR were all tightened for racing room and checked to varying degrees.  Approaching the turn into the back straight DARK SMIFFY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn into the front straight TRISHA NOLAN and SENOR’S HEIR collided resulting in SENOR’S HEIR to be checked and lose ground.

 

The greyhound ALEEAH JET underwent a post-race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

MALE TRAINER OF THE YEAR – COLIN BYERS 5th GRADE HEAT 1 520M

Even start.  Shortly after the start ONE IN SIX was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  In the front straight on the first occasion OUTBACK SUNSHINE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight INVERGARRY LADY shifted out and raced wide.  MUST BE MAX which was trailing was checked as a consequence and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight OUTBACK SUNSHINE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight OUTBACK SUNSHINE and MIGHTY NOVA collided resulting in OUTBACK SUNSHINE to be checked and lose ground.  Rounding the turn into the front straight MUST BE MAX was tightened for racing room, checked across heels and raced wide.  In the front straight over the latter stages of the race SIZEABLE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

 

The greyhound OUTBACK SUNSHINE underwent a post-race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off side wrist and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

GJ WALSH & CO 5th GRADE HEAT 2 520M

FENRIR and CHILLED HEAT were best to begin.  LORD LACHLAN, DUSTY WAY, NASH TATO and AZA ZEUS were slow to begin. Leaving the front straight BEACH FRONT and NASH TATO were tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight LORD LACHLAN, AVAMAY and AZA ZEUS raced tight resulting in all greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight NACH TATO was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Entering the back straight BEACH FRONT was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight AZA ZEUS was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  DUSTY WAY raced wide rounding the turn into the front straight.

 

The greyhound NASH TATO underwent a post-race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the near side hip and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

VINCE CURRY MEMORIAL MAIDEN FINAL 520M

FIRE TO RAIN, SNUG, LOCKETY BRIN and ROLL SO DEEP were best to begin.  RATHER DAPPER was slow to begin.  Leaving the front straight SNUG was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  LOCKETY BRIN which was trailing was checked as a consequence and raced wide.  Approaching the turn into the back straight OPAL NERA and SNUG collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  SCIPIO AFRICANUS which was trailing was checked as a consequence and lost ground.  Shortly after OPAL NERA and LOCKETY BRIN collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Entering the back straight FABRIQUE checked across the heels of FIRE TO RAIN and was momentarily hampered.  In the back straight OPAL NERA and LOCKETY BRIN collided resulting in LOCKETY BRIN to be checked and lose ground.  Leaving the back straight RATHER DAPPER was tightened for racing room, checked and momentarily hampered.

 

The greyhound OPAL NERA underwent a post-race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

TOLL EVASION and PRINCESS EMALYS were best to begin.  Shortly after the start TITLE and PENTADOG were slow to begin.  Shortly after the start DODGY DANCER was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Through the first turn DODGY DANCER and SPRING ELLIE bumped.  Approaching the turn into the back straight TOLL EVASION was tightened for racing room, checked and momentarily hampered.  DODGY DANCER raced wide in the back straight.  Rounding the turn into the front straight ZABDON CHEVY, SPRING ELLIE and TITLE were all tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

Even start with the exception of ARABELLA which was slow to begin.  All runners with the exception of ARABELLA raced tight through the first turn resulting in KLOEIS PRIDE, PENCIL, ASTIN’S WARRIOR and KIKEM ZEST to be tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Entering the back straight SPRING AUDREY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  KLOEIS PRIDE and KIKEM ZEST which were trailing were checked as a consequence and lost ground.  In the back straight GET SHORTY and ARABELLA collided resulting in GET SHORTY to be checked and lose ground.  In the back straight KLOEIS PRIDE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  KIKEM ZEST which was trailing was checked as a consequence.  Rounding the turn into the front straight PENCIL checked across heels of ASTIN’S WARRIOR and raced wide.
