The greyhound CYNO KING performed a satisfactory 6 month trial over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.38.

 

RACE REPORTS

 

1.

GOODNA RUGBY LEAGUE QLD BOYS INC MAIDEN 520M

MR. BELLISSIMO was slow to begin.  PHANTOM PETE was tightened shortly after the start.  Approaching the 1st turn FREEWAY KING, SWEET KARMAR and SPECIAL COVER collided.  Entering the back straight SPRING PETE and FREEWAY KING collided.  Approaching the top turn SPRING PETE checked off heels.

GOODNA & DIST RUBGY LEAGUE FOOTBALL CLUB NOVICE 520M

Even start.  Shortly after the start PHANTOM HENRY, SALUDOS, SUPER SCOOTER and PRATER’S ACE were inconvenienced.  Entering the 1st turn FLYING TWISTER checked off heels.  SUPER SCOOTER was wide in the 1st turn and back straight.  Approaching the top turn PRATER’S ACE improved onto the heels of PHANTOM HENRY and both greyhounds were checked.  THUNDER OF FIRE was tightened in the top turn.

 

The greyhound SALUDOS underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.  Handler of the greyhound Mr. W. Dunstall was questioned in regards to the greyhound’s performance particularly over the concluding stages, in which it appeared to give ground.  Mr. Dunstall advised that connections were confident of the greyhound’s chances in this event, however he felt the greyhound was forced wide throughout the race. He believed this might have contributed to the greyhound’s weakening over the concluding stages. Stewards noted Mr. Dunstall’s comments.

GOODNA & DIST JUNIOR RUGBY LEAGUE NOVICE 431M

MADIES was best to begin while RUMBLING JAKE and BITTA BLUE were slow.  Shortly after the start OPAL NERA shifted in, tightening HURUNUI ALYSSA and WILDASH DIVA and colliding with WILDASH CECIL.  In the 1st turn BITTA BLUE and HURUNUI ALYSSA collided and lost ground causing WILDASH DIVA to be hampered as a result.

Even start.  Shortly after the start PENTADOG was tightened and lost ground.  Entering the 1st turn SHEZA GOOD SIZE checked off heels and raced wide.  Entering the back straight PENTADOG checked off heels.

GOODNA PRODUCE 5th GRADE 431M

WILDASH BAM BAM was best to begin.  In the 1st turn FABIARNA, LIGHTNING WHITE and WITHCOTT FLYER collided and became unbalanced and lost ground.  Shortly after, RAGNAR LOTHBROK shifted out and collided with LIGHTNING WHITE.  Entering the top turn LADY SHOW SNOWY gave ground in clear running and WILDASH BAM BAM that was following was hampered and lost ground as a result.  In the top turn VELOCITY CLOVER shifted out and turned its head towards LATE SHOW SNOWY which was racing to its outside.

 

The greyhound LIGHTNING WHITE underwent a post-race veterinary examination, was found to have suffered an injury to the off hind toenail, and was stood down for a period of 14 days.

 

The greyhound FABIARNA underwent a post-race veterinary examination, was found to have suffered an injury to the near side hip support, and was stood down for a period of 14 days.

 

The greyhound LATE SHOW SNOWY underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.  Stewards advised trainer Mr. W Scannella that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 (A) Failing to Pursue, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trail 431m all tracks.

 

The greyhound VELOCITY CLOVER underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.  Stewards advised trainer Mr. N Eastell that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69 (A) Failing to Pursue, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trail 431m all tracks.

 

The greyhound RAGNAR LOTHBROK underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.  Stewards raised concerns with trainer Mr. G. Pearce in regards to the greyhound’s actions entering the back straight, particularly as to whether the greyhound had pursued the lure with due commitment.  After taking evidence from Mr. Pearce and viewing the available films, stewards could not be comfortably satisfied with the evidence to pursue a charge against the greyhound.

JO-ANN MILLER MP - BUNDAMBA 5th GRADE 431M

OPTIMYSTIC was slow to begin.  In the 1st turn ELLAH TERROR, OPTIMYSTIC and LOOK THE PART all collided and lost ground.  Entering the top turn ELLAH TERROR shifted out and hampered LOOK THE PART that was following.

 

The greyhound LOOK THE PART underwent a post-race veterinary examination, was found to have suffered an injury to the near hind webbing, and was stood down for a period of 14 days.

KERWICK HOTEL 5th GRADE 431M

SPILLING SECRETS was best to begin.  In the 1st turn TOO MANY BILLS checked off heels and collided with MAYWYN’S ACE and both greyhounds lost ground.  Entering the top turn SPILLING SECRETS checked off heels and collided with TOO MANY BILLS causing that greyhound to lose ground.  Approaching the top turn MAYWYN’S ACE gave ground in clear running.

 

The greyhound MAYWYN’S ACE underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off side wrist and was stood down for a period of 14 days.

LIFT LOGISTICS PTY LTD 5th GRADE 520M

BLACK OPS VERA was best to begin.  Entering the 1st turn JUST MY SIZE was tightened and forced to shift wide, causing this greyhound to lose significant ground.

 

The greyhound JUST MY SIZE underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found. Trainer of JUST MY SIZE Mr. S. Waterhouse was questioned on the greyhound’s performance in this event. Mr. Waterhouse stated that in hindsight the greyhound should have been trialled over the 520m distance prior to this start and that his plan is to trial the greyhound over the 520m prior to nominating further.  Stewards noted the interference suffered by the greyhound in the 1st turn although did advise Mr. Waterhouse that this performance was bordering on unsatisfactory.

SKY BOND was best to begin while PRATER’S PROMISE was slowly away.  Approaching the 1st turn CYNO GENERAL was hampered as LOVED OUT shifted in causing CYNO GENERAL and PRATER’S PROMISE to race tight.  Nearing the top turn LOVED UP was checked.

 

The greyhound PRATER’S PROMISE underwent a post-race veterinary examination after falling in the catching pen and no apparent injuries were found.
