The greyhound LEST WE performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 520m in a time of 32.01 and is now cleared all tracks except Launceston.

BLUE GIRL BLUE, CATCH ME KEITH and ROSDUE AVALON were best to begin.  Shortly after the start HAY MISS KNOCKA and DRUID PRINCE bumped.  In the 1st turn KNOCKA ON FIRE and HAY MISS KNOCKA bumped.  In the back straight JAY AYE ran wide.  In the top turn BLUE GIRL BLUE was tightened for racing room and hampered.

SKY RACING MAIDEN 431M

SPRING PETE was marginally slow to begin.  In the 1st turn TOPAZ TAN, SIGHTZ and FREE PASS all collided resulting in SIGHTZ and FREE PASS to lose ground.  In the top turn  SIGHTZ hit the running rail and lost ground.

 

The greyhound SIGHTZ underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

SPRING ROY was best to begin with HOT slow.  In the 1st turn SHEZA SHOCKER, WHO SAID SO and WOODY’S SPECIAL collided.  Rounding the turn BONDI GIRL and TECHNO’S GLORY bumped.  Entering the turn into the back straight SHEZA SHOCKER clipped heels and was hampered.  In the back straight WOODY’S SPECIAL clipped heels and lost ground.  At the same time TECHNO’S GLORY and WHO SAID SO collided resulting in both greyhounds to be hampered.

 

The greyhound WOODY’S SPECIAL underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the near hind leg and was stood down for a period of 7 days.

Even start  with AILIA slow to begin.  In the 1st turn DUDE PERFECT clipped heels and shifted out.  Rounding the turn into the back straight SAIL SURFER clipped heels and checked MAYWYN EMERALDS resulting in both greyhounds to lose ground.  Rounding the turn into the front straight AILIA and SELECT CASEY collided resulting in AILIA to lose ground.  In the front straight MAYWYN OPALS ran wide.  Approaching the finishing line SELECT CASEY and SHOT TO FAME collided.

CLINT’S CARAVAN WAREHOUSE 5th GRADE HEAT 1 431M

COSADO SUN and GIFTED ANGEL were best to begin.  Shortly after the start SAY GOOD DAY and SPRING POLLY bumped.  In the 1st turn GIFTED ANGEL and LUCKMAN bumped.  At the same time SPRING POLLY and SAY GOOD DAY bumped.  Rounding the turn into the home straight LUCKMAN clipped heels and lost ground.

GOLDEN VIEW GREYHOUND COMPLEX 5th GRADE HEAT 2 431M

KNEW YOU WOULD was best to begin with TOUGH GUY FRIDAY slow.  Shortly after the start LONESOME HERO was tightened for room and lost ground.  In the 1st turn HEART FELT CLOUD and SOCIAL bumped.  Rounding the turn into the back straight TOUGH GUY FRIDAY and LONESOME HERO shifted out running wide in the back straight.  Entering the top turn BIG DIPPA and SOCIAL collided resulting in both greyhounds to be hampered.  Leaving the top turn BIG DIPPA was tightened for racing room and lost ground.  In the home straight BIG DIPPA and SOCIAL collided.

ISSUE was best to begin.  In the 1st turn all greyhounds except ISSUE collided and lost ground to differing degrees.  Entering the turn into the back straight SAMANTHA BENZ clipped heels.  MONDELLA which was trailing was hampered.  In the top turn MONDELLA was checked and hampered.  Rounding the turn into the home straight MONDELLA ran wide.

GJ WALSH & CO 3/4th GRADE 431M

ON THE WALL was best to begin with TOO MANY BILLS slow.  In the 1st turn MAYWYN’S COPY and ONYA BENZ collided.  In the back straight TOO MANY BILLS ran wide.  Entering the top turn ON THE WALL and COSMIC REVENGE collided resulting in COSMIC REVENGE to lose ground.  Rounding the turn into the home straight COSMIC REVENGE turned is head outward and didn’t make  muzzle contact.  Approaching the finishing line COSMIC REVENGE clipped heels and lost ground.

 

Stewards advised trainer Mr. K Mackenroth that the greyhound COSMIC REVENGE would be charged under Rule 69 (B) Failing to Pursue plus injury, 1st offence, 10 days, off side pin plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 431m all tracks.

GENTABLUE PET FOOD 5th GRADE HEAT 3 431M

SNOZZSTA was best to begin with LORD LACHLAN slow.  Shortly after the start ME HAPPY was tightened for racing room.  GRAND ANGEL which was trailing was checked and hampered.  In the 1st turn ME HAPPY and GRAND ANGEL collided resulting in both greyhounds to be hampered.  Entering the back straight HAVANA BLACK was tightened for racing room and hampered.  In the front straight DULCAFAY, HAVANA BLACK and ME HAPPY all raced wide.

TECHNO LADY was best to begin with LIL’ BIT SPARKY slow.  Shortly after the start FIREFLY JAMES and SPECIAL VISION bumped.  In the 1st turn FIREFLY JAMES was checked and hampered.  In the back straight TECHNO LADY ran wide.  In the front straight FIREFLY JAMES and SHAYLOR CLEDUS bumped.

 

The greyhound TECHNO LADY underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found. Stewards question trainer Mr Graham Heaton on the performance of the greyhound, which he stated that the greyhound had trialled well during  the week but have decided to retired the greyhound after this race.
