MR. BELLISSIMO, ZABDON MCGREGOR and BRIGHTEST STAR were best to begin.  KIMARI MARIA was marginally slow to begin.  Approaching the 1st turn WOODY’S PRINCE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  JOJO BELLE which was racing to its inside was checked as a consequence and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight WOODY’S PRINCE improved onto the heels of ZABDON MCGREGOR and both greyhounds lost ground as a consequence.  BRIGHTEST STAR raced wide rounding the turn into the front straight.

SKY RACING MAIDEN 431M

Even start.  Shortly after the start DAVE THE RAVE and SMOKIN’ ALICE collided.  Through the 1st turn SMOKIN’ ALICE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight DAVE THE RAVE checked across the heels of HESA REBEL stumbled and lost considerable ground.  In the back straight TEE BE GOOD was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  TEE BE GOOD raced wide rounding the turn into the front straight.

 

The greyhound DAVE THE RAVE underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

CLINT’S CARAVAN WAREHOUSE MAIDEN 520M

UMBRELLA HARRY was best to begin.  PHANTOM HOUDINI was slow to begin.  Leaving the front straight SIMMSY’S NINERON was tightened for racing room, checked, stumbled and lost considerable ground.  Leaving the back straight UMBRELLA HARRY eased.  SHEZA JEWEL raced wide round the turn into the front straight.

 

The greyhound UMBRELLA HARRY underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.  Stewards advised trainer Mr. A Bebbington that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 71 Unsatisfactory Performance and must perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial 520m all tracks prior to nominating.

 

The greyhound SIMMYS’S NINERON underwent a post race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off side hock and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

STAR RISE was best to begin.  PRATER’S ACE was marginally slow to begin.  Approaching the 1st turn PRATER’S ACE improved onto the heels of AFTER GLOW and lost ground.  Rounding the turn into the back straight WERINA LIGHTNING was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight STAR RISE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn into the front straight PRATER’S ACE checked across the heels of KNOCKA ON FIRE and collided with STAR RISE resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  WERINA LIGHTNING raced wide rounding the home turn.

GOLDEN VIEW GREYHOUND COMPLEX NOVICE 520M

THUNDER OF FIRE was best to begin.  NINPIN stumbled shortly after the start shifted out and collided with FI FI RUMBLE resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight THUNDER OF FIRE, NOTHING ELSE, SELECT CASEY and CELS EXPRESS raced tight which resulted in SELECT CASEY and CELS EXPRESS to lose ground.  SUPER SCOOTER which was trailing was checked as a consequence and raced wide.  SELECT CASEY gave ground rounding the turn out of the back straight to finish a considerable distance from the remainder of the field.

 

The greyhound SELECT CASEY underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.  When questioned over the performance of the greyhound trainer Mr. D Thirtle was of the view that  the greyhound does not race well when being crowded and after receiving a check on the 1st turn he was of the opinion that this may have contributed to its overall performance.  He stated that SELECT CASEY had trialled well when entering his kennel however,he has been disappointed with its efforts over its previous starts and may review whether it remains in his kennel.

TORQUE FLIGHT and THIS TIME MADDIE were best to begin.  LITE ME UP was slow to begin.  MAYWYN PETTYCASH was tightened for racing room shortly after the start.  Through the 1st turn CAKE IT ON was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the  front straight GUY FAWKES and THIS TIME MADDIE collided resulting in GUY FAWKES to be checked and lose ground.  LIGHTNING WHITE which was trailing was checked as a consequence.

 

The greyhound CAKE IT ON underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.  When questioned over the performance of the greyhound trainer Mr. S Neary said that the greyhound normally begins well and has led in its previous races where it has won however tonight it slipped shortly after the start and then received some interference through the 1st turn which in his view was a direct effect on where the greyhound had finished in tonight’s event.  He further stated that when there was 2 greyhounds that proved some difficulty to box may have contributed to the manner that CAKE IT ON started the event and whilst it had finished only moderately he was satisfied with its performance in the race.

Even start with the exception of KOORINGA BUD which was marginally slow to begin.  Shortly after the start VELOCITY CLOVER was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the 1st turn HARBOUR DRIVE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight ON THE WALL was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

SNOW GIRL and COOKIE NO CREAM were best to begin.  Leaving the front straight SNOW GIRL was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  AVAMAY, MAURICE MINOR and GIFTED ANGEL were all checked as a result of this incident.  In the front straight during the run to the finish DOLLAR AND CENT was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

 

The greyhound FATHER NOEL underwent a post race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off side hip and was stood down for a period of 14 days.

GENTABLUE PET FOOD 3/4th GRADE 520M

Even start.  Shortly after the start NATURAL LAD was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Shortly after TORPEDO MAN and FLAPPING GUMS collided.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight TORPEDO MAN checked across the heels of FLAPPING GUMS and lost ground.  NATURAL LAD and REPTAR which were trailing were checked as a consequence and lost considerable ground.

Even start with the exception of FAB HARRIET which was marginally slow to begin.  Approaching the 1st turn WEE REMI and COLD NIGHTS collided.  PERFECT LADY which was trailing was checked as a consequence.  CUT THE CAKE and COLD NIGHTS raced tight rounding the turn out of the back straight to entering the front straight.  Rounding the turn into the front straight PERFECT LADY and FAB HARRIET raced tight.
