Stewards Trial 1 – 431m

The greyhound PRATER’S RECRUIT performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.45 and is now cleared all tracks except Ipswich until after 4 July 2017.

Even start.  Approaching the first turn SUPER FLICK was tightened for racing room and checked.  Through the first turn SPRING COMMAND, SIN CITY KITTY, RATHNAIT and TERRANORA were all tightened for racing room resulting in SPRING COMMAND and RATHNAIT to be checked and SIN CITY KITTY and TERRANORA to be severely checked and lose ground.  Rounding the turn into the back straight SPRING COMMAND was tightened for racing room, checked and shifted outwards.  SUPER FLICK which was racing to its outside was hampered as a consequence. 
Approaching the turn into the front straight SPRING COMMAND checked off heels.  In the home straight SIN CITY KITTY and SUPER FLICK were wide.

SKY RACING MAIDEN HEAT 2 431M

GALAWAY PUMA and ALISSA’S ANGEL were slow to begin.  Rounding the turn into the back straight ZAZU’S HEADACHE, POSSESSION and BUD’S DELIGHT all raced tight. ADAM ROSE HI which was trailing shifted outwards to avoid those runners heels.  When shifting outwards ADAM ROSE HI collided with BONDI GIRL which resulted in both runners to be checked.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight ZAZU’S HEADACHE was tightened for racing room and momentarily hampered.  Shortly after GALAWAY PUMA shifted inwards, made contact with the running rail, was severely checked and lost ground as a consequence.  Rounding the turn into the front straight ZAZU’S HEADACHE and BUD’S DELIGHT collided resulting in ZAZU’S HEADACHE to be checked and lose ground.

 

The greyhound GALAWAY PUMA underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the near hind leg and was stood down for a period of 7 days.

ALPHA 390 FINANCE MAIDEN FINAL 431M

TOPAZ TAN, WAYCOL BILL and DAZE LIKE THESE were all marginally slow to begin.  At the start TOPAZ TAN was tightened for racing room and momentarily hampered.  Entering the first turn CHIPPIE ROSE HI was tightened for racing room, severely checked and fell taking no further competitive part in the event.  LAZZA MANAZZA, WAYCOL BILL, DAZE LIKE THESE and TOPAZ TAN which were trailing were all checked to varying degrees as a consequence.  Rounding the turn into the back straight WAYCOL BILL and LAZZA MANAZZA were tightened for racing room and checked.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight WAYCOL BILL was tightened for racing room and momentarily hampered.  Rounding the turn into the front straight LAZZA MANAZZA checked off heels.  In the home straight SWARAVSKI was tightened for racing room and momentarily hampered.

 

The greyhound CHIPPIE ROSE HI underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

ASICLAO, NOVELLA and PEANUT were all best to begin.  Shortly after the start SPRING DOLLY bumped MIDNIGHT BURN resulting in that runner to be momentarily hampered.  Approaching the first turn SPRING LOYAL was tightened for racing room and checked.  Rounding the turn into the back straight BERRACH and SPRING LOYAL were tightened for racing room, severely checked and lost considerable ground.  In the back straight SPRING DOLLY was wide.  Entering the turn out of the back straight NOVELLA bumped ASICLAO resulting in that runner to shift outwards and in doing so PEANUT which was trailing was checked and forced out wide on the turn as a consequence.

TREMBATH TYRE REPAIRS NOVICE 431M

HOPEFUL MISS and WHITE EAGLE were best to begin.  TEFLON FLYER and GAS UP ISA were marginally slow to begin.  Shortly after the start NINPIN and CASEY WHISPER raced tight.  Through the first turn GAS UP ISA, SPOT ROSE HI and FOXY BE GOOD were all tightened for racing room and checked.  CASEY WHISPER which was trailing was checked and lost ground as a consequence.  Rounding the turn into the back straight FOXY BE GOOD improved onto the heels of NINPIN resulting in FOXY BE GOOD to be checked and lose ground.  Entering the turn out of the back straight CASEY WHISPER and SPOT ROSE HI were tightened for racing room resulting in CASEY WHISPER to be momentarily hampered and SPOT ROSE HI to be severely checked and lose considerable ground.  Shortly after FOXY BE GOOD collided with NINPIN resulting in FOXY BE GOOD to be hampered and NINPIN to be checked and lose ground.  Rounding the turn into the front straight SPOT ROSE HI checked off heels.

O’REILLY PET FOOD 4/5th GRADE 431M

ASTIN’S WARRIOR was marginally slow to begin.  Entering the first turn ELEGANT STRIDER and MAGOOLEY bumped resulting in both runners to be momentarily hampered.  Through the first turn SECOND GEAR and AILIA were tightened for racing room and checked.  MAGOOLEY which was trailing shifted out to avoid those runners heels.  Rounding the turn into the back straight ON THE WALL and RUNYA DOWN bumped resulting in both runners to be momentarily hampered.  ELEGANT STRIDER, MAGOOLEY and AILIA which were trailing were all checked to varying degrees as a consequence.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight ON THE WALL was tightened for racing room and momentarily hampered.  Rounding the turn into the front straight ASTIN’S WARRIOR was tightened for racing room, checked and shifted outwards.  ELEGANT STRIDER which was racing to its outside was forced out wide entering the front straight as a consequence.

 

The greyhound RUNYA DOWN underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

SWITCH BLADE and HOOP DREAMS were marginally slow to begin.  Rounding the turn into the front straight SWITCH BLADE was tightened for racing room and momentarily hampered.

 

The greyhound KIKEM STORMY underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

C2C CONSTRUCTIONS 5th GRADE FINAL 520M

ALPHA HECTOR and PRATER’S PROMISE were marginally slow to begin with AZTEC FLASH and SIZEABLE slow to begin.  Shortly after the start AZTEC FLASH commenced to give ground and finished a considerable distance from the remainder of the field.  Entering the turn, out of the front straight, PRATER’S PROMISE was tightened for racing room, severely checked and lost ground.

 

The greyhound AZTEC FLASH underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the chest muscle and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

GREG STERNBERG VET SURGEON 5th GRADE 431M

SAIL SURFER and MYRNIONG FLOYD were best to begin.  Entering the first turn NINA ROSE HI and IT’S ABOUT TIME bumped resulting in both runners to be momentarily hampered.  Rounding the turn into the back straight SANDAVE BELLAIRE and NINA ROSE HI collided resulting in NINA ROSE HI to be momentarily hampered and SANDAVE BELLAIRE to be checked and lose ground.  Entering the turn out of the back straight SPRING BENNY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  At the same time LOOK THE PART and IT’S ABOUT TIME were tightened for racing room and checked.  Rounding the turn into the front straight MYRNIONG FLOYD and SPRING ERNIE collided resulting in SPRING ERNIE to be checked.  In the home straight SPRING BENNY was tightened for racing room and checked.  Over the concluding stages of the event IT’S ABOUT TIME shifted outwards resulting in SPRING ERNIE which was racing to its outside to be checked and lose ground.

KYLE THE TANK was best to begin.  Through the first turn SHAYLOR BART, HESA BIRD, WESTMEAD DAFFIE, SPRING POLLY and FANCY FREEL were all tightened for racing room resulting in SHAYLOR BART and WESTMEAD DAFFIE to be hampered, SPRING POLLY and FANCY FREEL to be checked and HESA BIRD to be severely checked and lose ground.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight RUM RUNNER improved onto the heels of KYLE THE TANK resulting in both runners to be checked.
