Stewards Trial 1 – 431m

The greyhound SALUDOS performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial over the distance of 520m in a time of 30.85 and is now cleared all tracks.

 

The track was turned over on Monday 21 August 2017.

 

RACE REPORTS

 

1.

Stewards withheld the ‘all clear’ to allow them the opportunity to review the start of the race to determine whether any greyhound was disadvantaged during the boxing period.  After viewing the official race film stewards were satisfied that no greyhound was disadvantaged and therefore gave the ‘all clear’.  Even start.  Shortly after the start SHORT SESSION and BLAZING collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Shortly after BONDI GIRL and SIN CITY KITTY collided.  Through the 1st turn BLUE GIRL BLUE and SHORT SESSION collided.  At the same time SIN CITY KITTY and BONDI GIRL collided.  Approaching the turn into the back straight METRO MANILA and BARNEY’S BOUNTY raced wide.  Leaving the back straight SHORT SESSION shifted in and made contact with the running rail.

 

The greyhound SHORT SESSION underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

SKY RACING MAIDEN HEAT 2 431M

WILLY TOULA and REEF AND BEEF were best to begin.  THUG and SNOWBALL OTTO were slow to begin.  Approaching the turn into the back straight SNOWBALL OTTO was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight THUG improved onto the heels of WILLY TOULA and was checked as a consequence.

ALPHA 390 FINANCE MAIDEN FINAL 431M

FARMOR IN TIME and MISS AMELIA were best to begin.  Shortly after the start MR. LEO and CRUZ RAMIREZ collided which resulted in CRUZ RAMIREZ to be checked and lose ground.  Through the 1st turn FARMOR PERHAPS and WAYCOL BILL collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Entering the back straight FARMOR IN TIME was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight FARMOR IN TIME and MR. LEO collided resulting in MR. LEO to be checked and lose ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight  WAYCOL BILL and MR. LEO collided resulting in WAYCOL BILL to be checked and lose ground.

 

The greyhound WAYCOL BILL underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

WILDASH PEBBLES and WHITE EAGLE were best to begin.  Through the 1st turn all greyhounds with the exception of WILDASH PEBBLES and WHITE EAGLE collided resulting in all greyhounds to be checked to varying degrees with ELOISE, BRASS ROAD and LAZZA MANAZZA losing the most ground.  Rounding the turn into the front straight and for the majority of the straight SPRING ROY and SURFBOARD raced tight colliding on a number of occasions.

TREMBATH TYRE REPAIRS NOVICE 431M

MY BLU, STAR RISE, OUTLAW ANNIE and WOOLOOGA were best to begin.  Shortly after the start TOPAZ TAN and IRISH SPICE were tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Through the 1st turn OUTLAW ANNIE and WOOLOOGA collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight IRISH SPICE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Entering the back straight TOPAZ TAN and PARIS QUEEN collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  IRISH SPICE which was trailing was checked as a consequence and lost ground.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight WOOLOOGA improved onto the heels of TOPAZ TAN and lost ground.

O’REILLY PET FOOD 5th GRADE 431M

Even start with the exception of LOOK THE PART which was marginally slow to begin.  Shortly after the start GUNLEE ROCKER and HEADGEAR collided.  Through the 1st turn HEADGEAR and BENTAXLE collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight PRINCESS IVY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  At the same time RUM RUNNER was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight HEADGEAR was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn into the front straight PRINCESS IVY improved onto the hindquarters of SPRING NOVA resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  HEADGEAR which was trailing was checked as a consequence and lost ground.

 

The greyhound PRINCESS IVY underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound SPRING NOVA underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

C2C CONSTRUCTIONS 5th GRADE FINAL 520M

FABRIQUE, EDGE OF FOREVER and PRATER’S PROMISE were best to begin.  Shortly after the start PRATER’S ACE and YANCY BALE were tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight FABRIQUE and EDGE OF FOREVER bumped.  Entering the back straight FABRIQUE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight DISCO DOLLY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

 

The greyhound FABRIQUE underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound FABRIQUE underwent a further post race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off side hip support and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

GREG STERNBRG VET SURGEON 4/5th GRADE 431M

Even start.  Through the 1st turn all greyhounds were tightened for racing room with the exception of DODGY DANCER and SOCIAL resulting in LARRIKAN LASS, MONDELLA and DIAMOND JAKEY being worst effected and lost ground.  Entering the back straight MAKE TODAY COUNT was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  SPRING HOUDINI which was racing to its outside was checked as a consequence and lost ground.  LIL MISS PINKY and LARRIKAN LASS raced wide in the front straight.

Even start with the exception of RUNAWAY KITTY which was slow to begin.  Through the 1st turn RUNAWAY KITTY improved onto the hindquarters of SNOZZSTA shifted out and collided with ASTIN’S WARRIOR resulting in all greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight RUNAWAY KITTY was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  SNOZZSTA commenced to give ground in the back straight to finish a considerable distance from the remainder of the field.

 

The greyhound SNOZZSTA underwent a post race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off side pin and was stood down for a period of 10 days.
