The greyhound SKIP TO IT failed a stewards’ trial over the distance of 431m.

 

RACE REPORTS

 

1.

FORGOT MY MOUSE, LOWOOD DUK and SPRING REINA were best to begin.  Through the 1st turn FORGOT MY MOUSE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  ATTILA which was trailling was checked as a consequence and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight MAYWYN’S NOMAD and BAD DAN FRANKIE collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Leaving the back straight MAYWYN’S NOMAD was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight MAYWYN’S NOMAD and LOWOOD DUK raced tight over a considerable distance.  Rounding the turn into the front straight ATTILA checked across heels and raced wide.

 

The greyhound MAYWYN’S NOMAD underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.  When questioned over the performance of the greyhound trainer Mr. R Essex explained that the greyhound only began moderately after sitting down in the boxes and after receiving interference throughout the race he was satisfied with the greyhound’s performance.  He stated that MAYWYN’S NOMAD had trailed well leading up to today’s race and expected that greyhound to win the event.

SKY RACING MAIDEN HEAT 2 431M

MAYWYN OFTEN, FROSTY SKY, ZAHARA DYE and GO FOR CHUCK were best to begin.  BIRR was slow to begin.  Approaching the 1st turn ZAHARA DYE and GO FOR CHUCK collided on a number of occasions.  Approaching the back straight ZAHARA DYE and GO FOR CHUCK collided resulting in GO FOR CHUCK to be checked and lose ground.  KAY CEE SAZIA which was trialling was checked as a consequence and lost ground.  At the same time BIRR improved onto the heels of FANCY A BOHERNA and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight GO FOR CHUCK and FROSTY SKY collided resulting in FROSTY SKY to be checked and lose ground.

 

The greyhound FROSTY SKY underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.  When questioned over the performance of FROSTY SKY trainer Mr. K Ollerton was disappointed with the greyhound’s run although acknowledging that it did receive some interference throughout the race.  He stated that it would be his intentions to race FROSTY SKY over the shorter 331m in the near future.

Even start with the exception of ROCKFORD which was marginally slow to begin.  Shortly after the start POWER SERVICE and BLAZIN’ BLUE collided.  Approaching the turn into the back straight ROCKFORD and BLAZIN’ BLUE collided resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Shortly after ROCKFORD shifted in and made contact with the rail and lost ground as a result.  LOVE THE LOOK raced wide rounding the turn into the back straight.  Leaving the back straight EBONNIE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

 

The greyhound ROCKFORD underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

ALPHA 390 FINANCE 5th GRADE 431M

MADIES, HOT and VIKING RED were best to begin.  Through the 1st turn WHO SAID SO and BRASS ROAD collided.  Approaching the turn into the back straight ADHARA GOLD was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  BRASS ROAD, SHE’S FOXY and MR. RALPH which were all trialling were checked as a consequence and lost ground.  Entering the back straight WHO SAID SO was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  In the front straight during the latter stages of the race ADHARA GOLD turned its head and marred the running of HOT resulting in HOT being checked and lose ground.

 

Stewards advised trainer Mr. R Attard that the greyhound ADHARA GOLD would be charged under Rule 69 Marring, 2nd offence, 3 months plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 431m all tracks.

Even start.  Through the 1st turn KISSING CARTER, SWARAVSKI, THROTTLE ON, LITE ME UP and SPRING AUDREY raced tight resulting in all greyhounds to be checked and lose ground to varying degrees with SPRING AUDREY and LITE ME UP being worse effected.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight ASICLAO was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

 

The greyhound KISSING CARTER underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound ASICLAO underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.  When questioned over the performance of the greyhound trainer Mr. N Evans said that the greyhound is only of average ability and after receiving interference throughout the race he was of the view that the Greyhound performed up to its recent form.

 

The greyhound SWARAVSKI underwent a post race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the near hind leg and was stood down for a period of 7 days.

TREMBATH TYRE REPAIRS 4/5th GRADE 520M

Even start.  Shortly after the start MAWYWYN’S COPY and SWIFT NIMROD were tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight COOL VANE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

 

The greyhound LOGAN CITY underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

Even start.  Shortly after the start PANTHER CLOUD and KIA BE GOOD raced tight resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  LIGHTNING WHITE and LOVED UP which were racing to the outside were checked as a consequence and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight FRIENDZ and LITTLE DOTTY TOO collided heavily resulting in both greyhounds to be severely checked and lose considerable ground.  BETTA BE RIGHT, PANTHER CLOUD and LOVED UP which were trailing were checked as a consequence and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight FRIENDZ was momentarily held up for clear running.  Rounding the turn out of the back straight BETTA BE RIGHT and PANTHER CLOUD collided.  Rounding the turn into the front straight LIGHTNING WHITE and PANTHER CLOUD collided.

BUTCHER CO 3/4th GRADE 431M

Even start.  Shortly after the start TITLE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the 1st turn VALKYRIE BLUE, HONEY HORNET and ROAD CAM all raced tight resulting in all greyhounds to be checked to varying degrees.  Approaching the turn out of the back straight ROAD CAM was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

Even start with the exception of LION’S BLUE which was marginally slow to begin.  Shortly after the start MONDELLA, SPRING LOYAL and MAYWYN PROMISES were all tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Shortly after ALLPA MAMA and WILDASH NITRO collided.  Through the 1st turn MONDELLA was tightened for racing room, shifted out and collided with SPRING LOYAL which in turn shifted out and collided with MAYWYN PROMISES resulting in all greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Entering the back straight WILDASH NITRO shifted out and collided with LEST WE resulting in that greyhound to be checked and lose ground.  KYLE THE TANK which was trailing was checked as a consequence and lost ground.  Shortly after KYLE THE TANK shifted out and collided with MONDELLA resulting in that greyhound to be checked and lose ground.  MAYWYN PROMISES which was trailing was checked as a consequence and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight ALLPA MAMA was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  MONDELLA which was trailing was checked as a consequence, shifted out and collided with MAYWYN PROMISES resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.

SKY RACING 5th GRADE 431M

Even start.  Shortly after the start SHOT TO FAME was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Through the 1st turn CLASSY CASSIE and SONNY GEORGE collided.  Entering the back straight SHOT TO FAME was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  SPRING COMMAND which was trailing was checked as a consequence and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight CLASSY CASSIE was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  SONNY GEORGE which was trailing was checked as a consequence and lost ground.

 

The greyhound SPRING COMMAND underwent a post race veterinarian examination and was found to have suffered an injury to the off fore foot and was stood down for a period of 28 days.
