The greyhound APOLLO DRYVA performed a satisfactory 6 month trial over the distance of 431m in a time of 25.58.

 

RACE REPORTS

 

1.

SPRING JENNY and FROSTY VANE were best to begin.  Approaching the 1st turn BLUE GIRL BLUE and SPRING IVAN raced tight and checked.  BLUE GIRL BLUE and FANCY A BOHERNA raced wide in the back straight.  Approaching the top turn FROSTY VANE was tightened for racing room and was checked and lost ground as a result.  THUG was momentarily impeded leaving the turn into the front straight and shifted wide as a result.

 

The greyhound FROSTY VANE underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found. Trainer Victor Osbourne was questioned by stewards into the performance of the greyhound.  He stated that he expected a more forward showing from the greyhound in future with a change of diet proving detrimental to its performance and he will revert back to the original diet plan moving forward.

SKY RACING NOVICE 431M

Even start with the exception of INDIANA PRINCESS which was marginally slow to begin.  In the 1st turn MAYWYN OFTEN and INDIANA PRINCESS raced tight and checked resulting in MAYWYN OFTEN to become unbalanced and lose significant ground.  Shortly after LA BAMBA and BLACK KOALA raced tight causing BLACK KOALA to become unbalanced and lose ground.  Approaching the top turn NITRO NIC shifted in and checked INDIANA PRINCESS causing NITRO NIC to lose considerable ground.  Through the turn into the front straight NITRO NIC and MAYWYN OFTEN raced tight and bumped on a number of occasions.

 

The greyhound NITRO NIC underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

MIDNIGHT TO ONE was best to begin.  BRASS ROAD and SNOWBALL CREED were both marginally slow.  In the 1st turn RUMBLING JAKE, SPRING GARY and MIDNIGHT TO ONE raced tight with SPRING GARY improving onto the hindquarters of MIDNIGHT TO ONE causing it to stumble and become unbalanced.  SNOWBALL CREED and FARMOR IN TUNE which were trailing collided with MIDNIGHT TO ONE causing SNOWBALL CREED and MIDNIGHT TO ONE to lose ground.  RUMBLING JAKE raced wide into the front straight and down the front straight.

CITY COUNTRY FOOD SERVICE 5th GRADE 431M

KENSA was best to begin.  SHAYLOR LES was slow.  Approaching the 1st turn BIG SHOW HAWKO and GIFTED ANGEL raced tight and bumped causing GIFTED ANGEL to lose ground.  BIG SHOW HAWKO shifted out and raced wide in the back straight.

JUST LIKE YAZZA was best to begin.  CAWFOURNE BIGRED was slow.  Shortly after the start FARMOR PERHAPS checked SWARAVSKI who in turn checked onto MUSTANG NOVA causing SWARAVSKI and MUSTANG NOVA to lose ground.  At the 1st turn JUST LIKE YAZZA shifted in and checked REDNECK BANJO causing both greyhounds to lose momentum.  At the same time CHINA ROB checked off heels and lost ground.  In the back straight CHINA ROB improved onto the hindquarters of REDNECK BANJO causing both greyhounds to lose ground.  Approaching the top turn MUSTANG NOVA was tightened for racing room and checked off heels losing ground.  Leaving the turn into the front straight REDNECK BANJO was impeded behind CAWBOURNE BIGRED and became unbalanced losing ground.

 

The greyhound REDNECK BANJO underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS 5th GRADE HEAT 2 431M

ZOU BISOU BISOU and GOOD DAZE AHEAD were both marginally slow to begin.  At the 1st turn the entire field came together and checked resulting in all greyhounds losing ground to differing degrees with the exception of PUNCH RIGHT OUT which fell and GOOD DAZE AHEAD who was severely impeded by GOOD DAZE AHEAD falling and lost considerable ground.  Approaching the top turn SONNY GEORGE checked off heels and lost ground.  GOOD DAZE AHEAD raced wide in the front straight.

 

The greyhound PUNCH RIGHT OUT underwent a post race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

MISTLETOE 3/4th GRADE 431M

JIGGLE SPLAT was best to begin.  SNOWBALL OTTO was marginally slow.  At the 1st turn RUNAWAY KITTY and SNOWBALL OTTO checked with SNOWBALL OTTO losing ground.  Shortly after BINALONG ROAD and RUNAWAY KITTY raced tight with BINALONG ROAD becoming unbalanced.  Approaching the top turn SPRING BENNY checked off heels and lost ground.  BINALONG ROAD and SPRING BENNY raced tight over the concluding stages of the race.

CANDY CANES 5th GRADE FINAL 431M

WHITE EAGLE and KYLE THE TANK were both best to begin.  REGAL WAZ and SPRING LOYAL were marginally slow.  REGAL WAZ and SPRING LOYAL collided leaving the 1st turn causing both greyhounds to lose ground as a result. Shortly after WHITE EAGLE, I’VE GOT CENTS, KYLE THE TANK and DORREGO raced tight with DORREGO becoming unbalanced and losing ground.  Approaching the top turn DORREGO checked off heels and lost ground.

REINDEER 5th GRADE HEAT 3 431M

MAYWYN PROMISES was best to begin.  MADRE was slow.  BRONCO BOY, HESPERIDES, COSMIC REX, NOTORIOUS HERO and IT’S ABOUT TIME came together at the 1st turn with all greyhounds checking to differing degrees.  Approaching the top turn HESPERIDES stumbled and became unbalanced.  Leaving the turn into the front straight IT’S ABOUT TIME shifted out and collided into BRONCO BOY causing both greyhounds to lose significant ground.

JINGLE BELLS 5th GRADE HEAT 4 431M

DOLLY’S WALLY was best to begin.  ZILLIE BEAN was very slow.  Leaving the turn into the back straight BATMAN BAIL checked off heels and lost ground.  SURE SHOT and INDOMINOUS DANE raced tight and checked on a number of occasions leaving the turn into the front straight.  BATMAN BAIL was momentarily impeded behind these greyhounds approaching the front straight.
