Stewards’ Trial

The greyhound, SISCO RASCAL, performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial at a distance of 520m, in a time of

31.73 and is cleared to race all tracks except Launceston.

BLUE GIRL BLUE was best to begin.  MONBO BEACH was slow.  Approaching the turn into the back straight, MAGIC MALT and ROSDUE LIVEWIRE raced tight and checked.  Shortly after, KAY CEE SAZIA checked off heels then checked heavily into MONBO BEACH, causing both greyhounds to lose ground.  Leaving the turn into the back straight, MAGIC MALT and ROSDUE LIVE WIRE raced tight and checked, causing both greyhounds to lose ground.  KAY CEE SAZIA and ROSDUE LIVE WIRE raced tight, and bumped on occasion over the concluding stages of the race.

SKY RACING MAIDEN (2) – 431m

YOGI BE GOOD was marginally slow to begin.  At the 1st turn, YOGI BE GOOD, FROSTY BLACK JAY, MINNIE BLUE and BONITA DE KAHN raced tight resulting in FROSTY BLACK JAY, MINNIE BLUE and BONITA DE KAHN to be checked and to lose considerable ground as a result.  Leaving the turn into the back straight, DECADENT ENOUGH and ROSDUE BARISTA raced tight, causing both greyhounds to become unbalanced as a result.  Shortly after, DECADENT ENOUGH stumbled and lost ground.

SNOW GIRL was best to begin, FULL OF TRICKS was marginally slow.  Approaching the top turn, SNOW GIRL checked off heels and lost considerable ground.  Leaving the top turn, FULL OF TRICKS checked off heels and lost ground.  In the front straight, DORIE’S PICK was momentarily impeded and shifted to the inside.

Even start, with the exception of ROSDUE LEON which was marginally slow.  Leaving the 1st turn, BLACK KOALA checked off heels and collided heavily into MAYWYN OFTEN and ROSDUE LEON, causing all greyhounds to lose significant ground as a result.

 

The greyhound BLACK KOALA underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off pin and was stood down for a period of 7 days.

CITY COUNTRY FOOD SERVICE MA5 – 431M

Even start, with the exception of FROST BEJAY and KEAVY which were both marginally slow to begin.  Approaching the turn into the back straight, PYRO BOB checked off heels and lost ground.  At the same time, FLASH GEE shifted out and checked KEAVY, causing both greyhounds to lose ground.  FROSTY BEJAY, which was trailing was inconvenienced as a result and lost considerable ground.  Approaching the top turn, FLASH GEE was tightened for racing room causing it to stumble and lose significant ground as a result.  Leaving the top turn, BARNEY’S BOUNTY checked off heels.

 

The greyhound FLASH GEE underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the near hip and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

NIGHT TIME LOVER was best to begin, MR. RALPH was slow.  FARMOR PERHAPS, SPRING LEMON and DOUBLE OAK raced tight at the 1st turn and checked, causing FARMOR PERHAPS and SPRING LEMON to lose ground. 

 

The greyhound SPRING LEMON underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound MR. RALPH underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

VELOCITY ONYX was best to begin, PRATER’S SAINT was slow.  SWARAVSKI and ROLL SO DEEP checked at the 1st turn.  Leaving the top turn, FIRE TO RAIN checked off heels and lost ground.  ROLL SO DEEP, which was trailing, was inconvenienced as a result and lost ground.

BUTCHER CO 5TH GRADE HEAT 2 – 431M

MAN OF LEISURE and LOVED UP were both marginally slow to begin.  NEVER A DOUBT, ACTUALIZE, SPRING GARY and COSMIC REVENGE raced tight and checked at the 1st turn.  ELOISE which was trailing was also inconvenienced with all greyhounds losing ground to varying degrees.  Leaving the turn into the back straight LOVED UP stumbled and commenced to yield ground, taking no further competitive part in the race thereafter.  ELOISE raced wide in the back straight.  COSMIC REVENGE raced wide from the top turn, and for the remainder of the race thereafter.  ELOISE raced wide through the turn into the front straight, and for the remainder of the race thereafter.

 

The greyhound LOVED UP underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the near hock and was humanely euthanised.

NO MORE CAKE was best to begin. The field, apart from NO MORE CAKE and MY NAMES SANDY, raced tight and checked at the 1st turn, with all greyhounds losing ground to varying degrees.  Leaving the turn into the back straight, SPRING LOTTIE checked off heels and lost ground.  LIL MISS PINKY raced wide through the turn into the front straight and for the remainder of the race thereafter.
