Stewards’ Trial

The greyhound KALANI KARL performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial, over a distance of 431m, in a time of

 25.49, and is now cleared to race.

The greyhound GUNLEE ROCKER performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial, over a distance of 431m, in a time

)of 25.43, and is now cleared to race all tracks.

RACE REPORTS

 

1.

SPRING RUSSELL was slow to begin.  In the 1st turn, ROSDUE KOLA and GOTCHA GIFT raced tight and checked.  Shortly after, SUGAR BOY was impeded and lost momentum.  Approaching the top turn, ROSDUE KOLA was tightened for racing room, checked off heels and lost ground.  FROSTY BLACK JAY, which was trailing, improved onto the rear of ROSEDUE KOLA causing both greyhounds to lose substantial ground as a consequence. In the turn into the front straight, SPRING RUSSELL and GOTCHA GIFT raced tight and checked.  

 

The greyhound ROSDUE KOLA underwent a pre and post race (2 x veterinary examinations) and no apparent injuries were found.

2.

SKY RACING NOVICE – 431M

SIN CITY KITTY and CRYSTAL BLAST were both best to begin, GALWAY BLUEBIRD was marginally slow.  Leaving the 1st turn, MIA’S KARMAR, LADY CRIMSON, ROSDUE BARISTA and GALWAY BLUEBIRD raced tight and checked, with MIA’S KARMAR coming into contact with the running rail and losing ground, and LADY CRIMSON losing significant ground as a consequence of the contact. In the back straight, GALWAY BLUEBIRD checked off heels and lost ground. MIA’S KARMAR raced wide around GALWAY BLUEBIRD to avoid contact.  LADY CRIMSON and GALWAY BLUEBIRD collided at the top turn, and lost substantial ground as a consequence. 

 

The greyhound MIA’S KARMAR underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

GREYHOUND_DATA.COM BEST 8 – 431M

LITTLE ACH CEE was best to begin, SPRING WATTLE and SWIPE RIGHT were both marginally slow.  The field, apart from LITTLE ACH CHEE, raced tight and checked at the 1st turn, with all losing ground to varying degrees.  Shortly after, SWIPE RIGHT checked off heels and lost ground.  CHULU CHULULU and SPRING REINAL, which were trailing, were hampered and lost ground as a result.  Approaching the turn into the front straight, SPRING REINA collided with SPRING WATTLE, causing both greyhounds to lose ground.  Shortly after, SPRING WATTLE and CHULU CHULULU collided heavily, with both greyhounds losing substantial ground as a result.

 

The greyhound CHULU CHULULU underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

THUNDER OF FIRE was best to begin, SLICE OF CAKE was slow.  Approaching the 1st turn, ROCKY SPIES checked off heels and lost ground.  Leaving the 1st turn, ROCKY SPIES and SLICE OF CAKE raced tight and bumped, and continued to race tight and bump on a number of occasions shortly after. Leaving the top turn, CASEY WHISPER was momentarily impeded and lost momentum.  CHIPPIES raced wide through the turn into the front straight.

CITY COUNTRY FOOD SERVICE MA5  – 431M

GUY FAWKES and DO THAT PHOEBEE were both best to begin, AILLA was very slow.  At the 1st turn, BUNDY BUCKS and HAVANA BLACK checked.  HAVANA BLACK shifted out and raced wide down the back straight.  Approaching the top turn, MAMMA’S BOY checked off heels and lost ground.  LAZZA MANAZZA, which was trailing, was severely inconvenienced, then shifting out colliding into AILLA, causing both greyhounds to lose substantial ground as a consequence.  HAVANA BLACK raced wide through the turn into the front straight, and for the remainder of the race.

HOME LUCK and NIVEK RETSERROF were both marginally slow to begin.  HOME LUCK and NIVEK RETSERROF raced tight and bumped on occasion at the 1st turn.  Leaving the 1st turn, ARE JAY DEE checked off heels and lost ground.  SWEET KARMAR, which was trailing, was impeded and lost momentum.  Approaching the turn into the front straight, NIVEK RETSERROF shifted out and raced wide.  Leaving the turn into the front straight, HOME LUCK shifted out and collided with JOHN’S CHOICE, causing both greyhounds to lose ground as a result.

TREMBATH TYRE REPAIRS 5TH GRADE HEAT 2 – 431M

LA BELLA MIMI was best to begin, MALUTKI was marginally slow.  Shortly after the start, HAD BETTER DAZE, ODESSA and LILY’S BEAN raced tight and bumped, resulting in ODESSA and HAD BETTER DAZE to become unbalanced and lose ground.  Approaching the 1st turn, LONG ROAD HOME was tightened for racing room, checked off heels and lost ground.  HAD BETTER DAZE, which was trailing, was inconvenienced and lost significant ground as a result.  Approaching the top turn, BARNEY BE GOOD was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

ELEGANT DUK was best to begin, NEVER A DOUBT, SECOND GEAR and FROSTY FLYER were all marginally slow.  In the 1st turn, SPRING ROY was tightened for racing room, stumbled and lost ground.  Leaving the 1st turn, ASTIN’S WARRIOR was tightened for racing room, forced to shift out and race wide as a result.  At the top turn, GET SHORTY was tightened for racing room, and lost momentum.  NEVER A DOUBT raced wide through the turn into the home straight.

BUTCHER CO 5TH GRADE HEAT 3 – 431M

GOOD GOLLY OLLY was best to begin, SPRING LOYAL was slow.  Approaching the 1st turn, MASTER DEAN and FOLLOW THE DUK checked, causing both greyhounds to become unbalanced and to lose ground.  MAN OF LEISURE, which was racing to the outside of those greyhounds, was checked and lost momentum as a result.  MAN OF LEISURE raced wide in the back straight.  Approaching the top turn, MASTER DEAN was impeded, causing it to stumble and to lose ground.  FOLLOW THE DUK and MAN OF LEISURE, which were trailing, were inconvenienced as a result of this.  Approaching the turn into the front straight, FOLLOW THE DUK checked off heels, shifted out wide through the turn into the front straight. Shortly after SPRING LOYAL was tightened for racing room, checked into MASTER DEAN and became unbalanced as a result.  BRASS ROAD and SPRING LOYAL raced tight and bumped leaving the turn into the front straight.

PATTAYA GIRL and ASH TIDE were both very slow to begin.  Approaching the 1st turn, JUST LIKE YAZZA checked into ROAD SCHOLAR and lost significant ground as a result.  SUNNY GEORGE, which was trailing, was inconvenienced as a result of that contact and lost momentum.  Approaching the top turn, PATTAYA GIRL commenced to yield ground and took no further competitive part in the race thereafter.  Leaving the top turn, SUNNY GEORGE checked off heels and lost ground.

 

The greyhound PATTAYA GIRL underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off side hock and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

Stewards were advised on Monday 29/05/18 by Mrs Field,that an injury had occurred to the hock of ROAD SCHOLAR that was noticed the following day. The greyhound was taken to their veterinarian and is being treated accordingly.
