The greyhound MISS HIPSTA performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial, over a distance of 288, in a time of 17.39, and is now cleared to race.

2CC’S COLDROOMS MAIDEN – 288M

WICKLA was best to begin.  BAN CHI BABY was very slow away.  Approaching the top turn, WHAT’S THE FEAR shifted out, checked into FARMOR SUSPENSE causing both greyhounds to become unbalanced and lose significant ground as a consequence.  MINNIE BLUE raced wide through the turn into the front straight.

MYRTLE JONES MEMORIAL MAIDEN – 520M

BUTTERFLY IS SHE was best to begin, BONITA DE KAHN was marginally slow.  Approaching the 1st turn, MISS MAMIE was impeded then checked off heels.  NEVER, which was trailing, collided into MISS MAMIE, causing both greyhounds to lose substantial ground as a consequence.  STOP IT LACHLAN was also inconvenienced as a result of that contact and lost ground.  NEVER raced wide through the turn into to the front straight.

 

The greyhound NEVER underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound MISS MAMIE underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

SONNY SCOTT MEMORIAL MAIDEN – 520M

BOGAN LAD and REGAL TOPAZ were best to begin, GALWAY PANTHER and PHANTOM HOUDINI were both marginally slow.  BOGAN LAD and DOUBLE SPUR raced tight and bumped at the 1st turn.  Shortly after, SPEEDY MARINA was tightened for racing room, become unbalanced and lost ground.  GALWAY PANTHER, which was racing to its outside, was hampered and lost significant ground as a result.  Approaching the top turn, DOUBLE SPUR came into contact with the running rail, and lost considerable ground as a consequence.  GALWAY PANTHER raced wide through the turn into the front straight.

 

The greyhound DOUBLE SPUR underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

AJ VELLACOTT SERVICES 5TH GRADE (1) – 431M

CAWBOURNE BIGRED was best to begin.  The entire field, apart from CAWBOURNE BIGRED and SPANISH HARBOUR, came together and checked at the 1st turn, with all losing significant ground to varying degrees.  Leaving the turn into the back straight, FROSTY AJAY checked off heels and lost substantial ground as a consequence.  In the top turn, WILLY TOULA was impeded and lost momentum.

 

The greyhound KIA BE GOOD underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound FONIC LASS underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained a near hind laceration and was stood down for a period of 14 days.

CENTENARY DISPOSALS 5TH GRADE (2) – 431M

LAGOON LUCKY was slow to begin, SASSY OAKS, CATCH ME KEITH and HOT EMBER raced tight and checked at the 1st turn.  WERINA MAGIC, which was trailing, was impeded and lost momentum.  Leaving the 1st turn, WILDASH HAWKO commenced to yield ground and dropped back through the field.  CATCH ME KEITH and HOT EMBER shifted wide to avoid WILDASH HAWKO.  WERINA MAGIC which was trailing, was impeded and lost momentum.  Leaving the top turn, WERINA MAGIC was impeded and lost ground.  Leaving the turn into the front straight, WERINA MAGIC deviated its attention, from the lure, towards WILDASH HAWKO.

 

The greyhound WERINA MAGIC underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the near hind toes and was stood down for a period of 21 days.

 

The greyhound WILDASH HAWKO underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off side hip and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

Stewards’ advised trainer, Mr N Evans, the greyhound WERINA MAGIC would be charged under Rule 69 (b) Failing to Pursue with Injury, 21 days and greyhound to perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial, 431m Ipswich track.

GOODNA OLD BOYS 5TH GRADE HEAT 1 – 520M

MR. BELVEDERE, AFTER GLOW and IZY MAGIC were all best to begin.  AFTER GLOW, STAR RING and IZY MAGIC raced tight and checked at the 1st turn, with all losing ground as a result.  Leaving the 1st turn, VOLKEY checked off heels and lost significant ground as a consequence.

GOODNA PRODUCE 5TH GRADE HEAT 2 – 520M

POWER OF PENNY and GUTENBERG were best to begin.  GOT THERE was marginally slow.  In the 1st turn, SMOKEY WISHES was tightened for racing room, checked off heels and lost significant ground as a result.  HESPERIDES, which was trailing, was impeded and lost considerable ground.  Leaving the top turn, MONDELLA was tightened for racing room and lost ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight, MONDELLA checked off heels and lost ground.  Leaving the turn into the front straight, SMOKEY WISHES and BOGAN BELLE checked, resulting in both becoming unbalanced and losing significant ground as a result. SMOKEY WISHES deviated its attention from the lure towards BOGAN BELLE after that contact.

 

The greyhound SMOKEY WISHES underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off side hip and was stood down for a period of 10 days

 

Stewards’ advised trainer, Mr P O’Rielly, the greyhound SMOKEY WISHES would be charged under Rule 69 (b) Failing to Pursue with Injury, 10 days and greyhound to perform a satisfactory stewards’ trial, 520m Ipswich track.

DAVE WELGE MEMORIAL MIXED 3/4 – 431M

JOHN’S LAST was best to begin, KAAN PAKMAK was marginally slow.  Approaching the 1st turn, SHAKEY RANDLE was tightened for racing room, became unbalanced and fell, taking no further competitive part in the race thereafter.  Approaching the top turn, KAAN PAKMAK and WILDASH NITRO collided, resulting in WILDASH NITRO to fall and KAAN PAKMAK to lose significant ground as a consequence.

 

The greyhound KAAN PAKMAK underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound SHAKEY RANDLE underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound WILDASH NITRO underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

COUNCILLOR PAUL TULLY 5TH GRADE (3) – 431M

I’VE GOT CENTS was best to begin, STANKY LEG was marginally slow.  SNOWBALL CREED and SAIL SURFER raced tight into the 1st turn and checked, with SNOWBALL CREED being tightened for racing room, checking off heels and losing significant ground as a result. KYLE THE TANK and STANKY LEG, which were trailing, were severely impeded as a result of that contact.  Approaching the top turn, SAIL SURFER was tightened for racing room and lost ground.

JO-ANN MILLER MP 5TH GRADE – 288M

JOIE ECLAT was best to begin, TAZI BE GOOD and NORTHERN SURFIE were both marginally slow.  Leaving the turn into the front straight, SENNI LUCILLE and TAZI BE GOOD raced tight and checked, with both becoming severely unbalanced and losing significant ground as a consequence.

 

The greyhound TAZI BE GOOD underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off side hip and was stood down for a period of 10 days.
