BLUE MIRACLE was best to begin, EYE LIKE CAKE was marginally slow.  Shortly after the start, IVY’S BOUQUET was checked become unbalanced and lost ground.  Leaving the 1st turn, GOTCHA GIFT checked off heels and lost ground.  IVY’S BOUQUET, which was trailing, was severely impeded, shifted out and checked heavily into EYE LIKE CAKE, causing both greyhounds to lose substantial ground as a consequence.  In the back straight, TECHNO’S GLORY shifted out, checked off heels and lost ground.  Leaving the top turn, EYE LIKE CAKE checked into GOTCHA GIFT, causing both greyhounds to become unbalanced and lose considerable ground as a result.

 

The greyhound GOTCHA GIFT underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

SKY RACING MAIDEN – 431M

 

BACK PLAY and FARMOR KA CHING were both best to begin, AYE JOHNS was slow.  At the 1st turn, AYE JOHNS checked off heels, became severely unbalanced then checked into LADYLIKE GRACE, causing LADYLIKE GRACE to lose substantial ground and AYE JOHNS to fall.  In the back straight, BONITA DE KAHN checked off heels and lost ground. 

 

The greyhound AYE JOHNS underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off fore leg and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

ROSDUE GYPSY and MASTER BULLET were both marginally slow to begin.  Approaching the 1st turn, MASTER BULLET was tightened for racing room and checked into FARMOR SUSPENSE, causing both greyhounds to lose ground as a result.  Leaving the top turn, TOP SCORE and ROSDUE SHAKA raced tight and checked.  SNOW GIRL, which was trailing, checked into the rear of ROSDUE SHAKA causing it to race wide.  ROSDUE SHAKA and ROSDUE GYPSY raced tight and checked on a number of occasions over the concluding stages of the race.

ASTIN’S WARRIOR was best to begin.  DORREGO and BARNEY’S BOUNTY were both marginally slow.  Leaving the 1st turn, HAD BETTER DAZE was tightened for racing room, stumbled and lost ground.  VENOM STRIKES, BARNEY’S BOUNTY and ENZO JAZZ, which were trailing, were all severely inconvenienced as a result, checking into each other and all losing substantial ground as a consequence.

 

The greyhound BARNEY’S BOUNTY underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

CITY COUNTRY FOOD SERVICE  BEST 8 – 431M

 

HOOP DREAMS was best to begin, PRINCESS EMALYS and OUTBACK SUNSHINE were both marginally slow.  The entire field came together and raced tight through the 1st turn, causing OUTBACK SUNSHINE to be impeded and lose ground.  Leaving the 1st turn, PRINCESS EMALYS and GET SHORTY were both tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  HOOP DREAMS, which was trailing, was inconvenienced and lost ground as a result.  Approaching the top turn, OUTBACK SUNSHINE was tightened for racing room, checked off heels and lost ground.  Leaving the top turn, PRINCESS EMALYS checked off heels and lost ground.  WAYNE OUTWIDE and GET SHORTY raced tight and checked on a number of occasions over the concluding stages of the race.

HYPO SHOW was best to begin, ONE DOLLAR and VELOCITY LINDER were both marginally slow.  Approaching the 1st turn, FIRED UP AGAIN and HAY NANNY raced tight and checked.  Shortly after, HONEY TRAP was tightened for racing room, checked off heels and lost ground.  HAY NANNY, which was trailing HONEY TRAP, was impeded and became severely unbalanced, and lost considerable ground as a result. Midway down the back straight, HIGH CLASS BELLE commenced to yield ground and took no further competitive part in the race thereafter.  Approaching the top turn, VELOCITY LINDER was impeded, causing it to stumble and lose momentum.  BUNDY BUCKS and FIRED UP AGAIN raced tight and checked leaving the turn into the front straight. 

 

The greyhound HIGH CLASS BELLE underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the off hind back muscle and was stood down for a period of 28 days.

KAYPAT LODGE 5TH GRADE HEAT 2 – 431M

 

PAN YOKO was best to begin, CLICK COWAN was slow.  Approaching the 1st turn, WONDERLAND was tightened for racing room, shifted out and checked into SPRING SAL and MAM’S MAGIC, causing those three greyhounds to lose considerable ground.  Leaving the 1st turn, WONDERLAND and ARFA SHOW OFF came together and checked, causing ARFA SHOW OFF to become unbalanced and to lose momentum.  Approaching the top turn, BLACK KOALA was tightened for racing room, impeded and lost significant ground. 

 

The greyhound WONDERLAND underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

CAKE IT ON was best to begin, ASH TIDE and HAY BILLY were both marginally slow.  Approaching the 1st turn, SPRING RUBY, SPRING LEMON and RAZZIAI RAIN raced tight and checked.  ASH TIDE, which was trailing, was impeded as a result and lost considerable ground.  Leaving the turn into the back straight, CAWBOURNE BIGRED improved onto the rear of GITCHA HUMMIN’ causing both greyhounds to become unbalanced and to lose momentum.  Approaching the top turn, ASH TIDE was tightened for racing room, impeded and lost ground.

GREG STERNBERG VET SURGEON 5TH GRADE HEAT 3 – 431M

 

AVA SURPRISE was clearly best to begin.  Shortly after the start, PIPELINE PIP, APOLLO’S WARRIOR and REGAL CYNDIE came together and checked, with all losing ground as a result. Shortly after, PIPELINE PIP commenced to yield ground and took no further competitive part in the race thereafter. Approaching the turn into the back straight, AVA SURPRISE shifted in which severely impeded REDNECK BANJO, causing REDNECK BANJO to stumble, become unbalanced and lose considerable ground.  RANGER DANGER, which was trailing, checked off the rear of REDNECK BANJO causing it to stumble, become severely unbalanced and lose significant ground as a consequence.  MOOSE MAN and SWEET KARMAR, which were trailing those greyhounds were tightened and checked, causing both greyhounds to become unbalanced and lose considerable ground as a result. Leaving the turn into the front straight, AVA SURPISE shifted out and raced wide for the remainder of the race.

 

The greyhound PIPELINE PIP underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the near side groin muscle and was stood down for a period of 28 days.

SWARAVSKI and GOOD DAZE AHEAD were both marginally slow to begin.  Approaching the 1st turn, GOOD DAZE AHEAD was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the turn into the back straight, WE KNOW was tightened for racing room, checked off heels and lost significant ground as a consequence.  Approaching the top turn, SWARAVKSI was momentarily impeded and lost momentum.
