Even start.  Shortly after the start, FARMOR MACKACKEN, BONITA DE KAHN and TOP TACTIC all raced tight, resulting in all greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground.  Through the 1st turn, BELLEEK and TOP TACTIC collide, resulting in both greyhounds to be checked and to lose ground.  FARMOR MACKACKEN, which was trailing, was checked as a consequence and lost ground.  Entering the back straight, BONITA DE KAHN was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight, TOP TACTIC and IRISH TRAVELLER collide, resulting in both greyhounds to lose considerable ground.

Mr R Hazelgrove, the trainer of TOP TACTIC, was advised that there were concerns with the greyhound’s actions in the back straight.  However, after considering all available evidence, Stewards’ could not be comfortably satisfied that the greyhound had offended under any rule, and therefore gave it the benefit of the doubt.

The greyhound IRISH TRAVELLER underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.
