The greyhound APACHE VILLA performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial, over a distance of 431m, in a time of

25.13 and is now cleared to race all tracks, 431m.

Even start, with SILVER LUX and EYE LIKE CAKE marginally slow.  Shortly after the start, FARMOR RUSH, STORM POWER and ROSDUE JAFFA collided, causing all greyhounds to be hampered.  In the 1st turn, EYE LIKE CAKE and SIENNA’S BOY bumped. Entering the back straight, EYE LIKE CAKE and BONITA DE KAHN collided, causing both greyhounds to lose ground.  In the back straight, EYE LIKE CAKE, STORM POWER and SIENNA’S BOY all raced wide.  Approaching the top turn, SIENNA’S BOY and EYE LIKE CAKE bumped on numerous occasions.

2.

SKY RACING MAIDEN HEAT 2 – 431M

 

Even start, with SPRING PHOENIX extremely slow.  Approaching the 1st turn, NOIRE DREAM and EARLY SETTLER bumped.  Rounding the turn into the back straight, EARLY SETTLER was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Approaching the top turn, IVY’S BOUQUET was tightened for racing room and lost ground.  In the top turn, NOIRE DREAM was tightened for racing room and lost ground. 

 

Stewards’ questioned connections of SPRING PHOENIX on the greyhounds starting manners, which the connections stated that SPRING PHOENIX usually begins well. Stewards stated that the performance was bordering on unsatisfactory. Stewards will continue to watch the greyhound in up coming events.

 

The greyhound NOIRE DEAM underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

COST A PENNY was best to begin, with BAN CHI BABY marginally slow.  Approaching the 1st turn, BAN CHI BABY clipped heels and was hampered.  Rounding the turn into the back straight, ROSIE GAZE, GALWAY CLARA collided, causing GALWAY CLARA to lose ground.  In the back straight, COST A PENNY shifted in colliding with SPRING RITCHIE, causing both greyhounds to lose ground.  Rounding the turn into the front straight, GALWAY CLARA and ROSIE GAZE collided, causing both greyhounds to lose ground.

ALPHA 390 FINANCE NOVICE – 431M

 

Even start.  Approaching the 1st turn, GALWAY WOLFGANG, HONEY’S PRINCESS and BONDI GIRL collided, causing all greyhounds to be hampered.  Rounding the turn into the back straight, GALWAY WOLFGANG, BONDI GIRL and SPRING RUSSELL all collided, causing BONDI GIRL to lose ground.  Entering the back straight, GALWAY WOLFGANG shifted in colliding with SPRING RUSSELL, causing both greyhounds to lose ground.  Rounding the top turn, FULL OF TRICKS and HONEY’S PRINCESS collided, causing both greyhounds to shift out and lose ground.  In the front straight, BONDI GIRL and FULL OF TRICKS bump on numerous occasions.

Even start, with WILD SPARK marginally slow.  In the 1st turn, SPRING REBEL and DAVE THE RAVE collided, causing both greyhounds to be hampered, at the same time BALLYMAC JAY and DOREAS raced tight, causing SPRING FESTIVAL to be checked and all greyhounds to be hampered.  Entering the back straight,   WILD SPARK clipped heels and was hampered.  In the back straight, SPRING REBEL and SPRING FESTIVAL collided, causing both greyhounds to be hampered.  In the front and back straight, NEVER raced wide.

JUST GREYHOUND PHOTOS BEST 8 – 431M

 

Even start.  Leaving the 1st turn all greyhounds, except FARMOR CHIPS, collided and lost ground at differing degrees.  Rounding the turn into the front straight, ASTIN’S WARRIOR, REGAL WAZ and CAKE IT ON collided, causing all greyhounds to be hampered.  Approaching the top turn, AIM was tightened for racing room and lost ground.

Even start.  Shortly after the start, ELUSIVE ARROW and RULE THE ROAD were tightened for racing room and lost ground.  Entering the 1st turn, ALLPA MAMA and SURFBOARD collided, resulting in RULE THE ROAD to clip heels and all greyhounds to be hampered.  Rounding the turn into the front straight, ELUSIVE ARROW and RULE THE ROAD collided, causing both greyhounds to lose ground.  Approaching the finishing line, BLUEMENTRIT and ELUSIVE ARROW collided.

 

The greyhound SURFBOARD underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound RULE THE ROAD underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

8.

GJ WALSH & CO MIXED 4/5TH GRADE – 431M

 

Even start.  In the 1st turn, all greyhounds raced tight and all greyhounds lost ground at differing degrees.  Approaching the turn into the front straight, GOOD DAZE AHEAD shifted out, checking off the heels of COOL VANE, resulting in HONEY TRAP to be checked and HONEY TRAP and GOOD DAZE AHEAD to run wide. In the front straight, SPRING LOTTIE and SNOWBALL CREED bumped.     

 

Stewards’ questioned licensed trainer, Mr V Osborn, about the performance of greyhound COOL VANE.  Mr Osborn stated the he did expect the greyhound to have a strong performance, but further added that the greyhound needs to lead to win the race and some interference in the race hampered its position.  Mr Osborn stated that he will be continuing to race the greyhound over this distance.

 

The greyhound COOL VANE underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

The greyhound HONEY TRAP underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

GIFTED ANGEL was best to begin.  In the 1st turn all greyhounds, except GIFTED ANGEL, BUD’S DELIGHT, collided, causing all greyhounds to lose at differing degrees.  Approaching the top turn, ZILLIE BEAN and GIFTED ANGEL collided, REGAL TOPAZ was checked as a result, causing REGAL TOPAZ to shift out and lose ground.  Rounding the turn into the front straight, WAYCOL BILL and RICHMOND ROAD collided, causing both greyhounds to lose ground. 

 

The greyhound RICHMOND ROAD underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

10.

SKY RACING 5TH GRADE (2) – 431M

 

TRY COMB was best to begin.  In the 1st turn, MOOSE MAN, NO LAYING BACK, DOUBLE OAK and FANCY FREEL all raced tight, causing all greyhounds to be hampered.  In the back straight, NO LAYING BACK clipped heels and lost ground.  Approaching the top turn, MOOSE MAN shifted out checking DOUBLE OAK, causing both greyhounds to lose ground.
