Race 1 - TAB LONG MAY WE PLAY MAIDEN (1) 288m

 

2 Sad Eyes – Slow to begin, checked in the back straight then trailed the field. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Stewards spoke to trainer Paul Sutton regarding the greyhound’s performance, Mr Sutton stated although he was disappointed in the greyhound’s performance in today’s event the greyhound and is still young and inexperienced and did not begin as well as it had in its previous starts and is also better suited to racing further forward. Stewards noted his submissions.

 

4 Burn One Out – Bumped with another runner in the home straight.

 

5 Summer's Lost – Checked entering the home turn, bumped with another runner in the home straight.

 

6 Chasing Bucks – Slow to begin, trailed the field throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

 

 

Race 2 - SKY RACING MAIDEN (2) 288m

 

1 Summer Classic – Checked entering the home turn, checked across heels entering the home straight, marred by another runner in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

 

2 Pokie Cash – Checked entering the home turn.

 

3 Bonnie Cairn Do – Checked entering the home turn.

 

4 Summer Fiesta – Checked entering the home turn.

 

5 Vecna – Turned its head outwards towards another runner in the back straight, checked and lost ground entering the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Steward’s spoke to trainer Jedda Cutlack regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. After viewing the video replay and considered submissions from the trainer and the veterinary report, Stewards invoked GAR 124 Fail to Pursue 1st offence - 28 day stand down at Ipswich and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next.

 

6 Dipsy Girl – Slow to begin.

 

7 Theodore Rose – Checked entering the home turn, turned its head outwards making contact with another runner in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Steward’s spoke to trainer Phillip Shaxson regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. After viewing the video replay and considered submissions from the trainer and the veterinary report, Stewards invoked GAR 123 Marring 2nd offence - 28 day stand down at all tracks and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial prior to racing next. Mr Shaxson advised the greyhound will now be retired.

 

8 Blue Sensation – Checked entering the home turn.

2 Sent From Heaven – Checked on the first turn, checked off heels rounding the home turn.

1 Black Patch – Checked on the first turn, raced wide throughout.

 

2 Victim Of Crime - Late scratching at 2.42pm - Stewards permission.

 

4 Adventure Queen – Checked on the first turn.

 

5 Boxing On – Checked on the first turn.

 

6 Codrington Queen – Checked on the first turn, bumped with another runner in the home straight.

 

7 Tuta Edge – Checked on the first turn, bumped with another in the home straight.

 

8 Yesterday Knight – Checked on the first turn, checked entering the home turn, became unbalanced and shifted out abruptly rounding the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a back strain injury, the greyhound has been stood down for 10 days. Stewards spoke to trainer Shane Topping in regard to the greyhounds racing manners rounding the home turn. After considering all available evidence and the severity of the injury, the greyhound was given the benefit of the doubt if it had contravened any rule.

3 Tuta Delta - Stewards spoke with trainers representative Lisa Druery in relations to the greyhound manners whilst being boxes, it was determined that the greyhound had caught the handler off guard, therefore Stewards have taken no further action at this stage but will monitor the greyhound at future events.

 

6 Rolling Start – Slow to begin, collided with another runner rounding the home turn.

 

7 Slate's Girl – Checked in the back straight, collided with another runner rounding the home turn.

 

8 Jedi Return – Checked off heels rounding the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed off hind leg injury, the greyhound has been stood down for 10 days.
