The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

GENERAL

 

 

Race 1 – Maiden Heat 1 407m

Clean start.  Shortly after the start KUBU BEACH shifted in and forced IZZYOTIC to check with BOB’S JOKER causing IZZYOTIC and BOB’S JOKER to lose ground.  In the back straight KUBU BEACH shifted in and crossed GEE TEE JOKER causing GEE TEE JOKER to lose ground.  Near the 630m boxes AIR RAIDER shifted out sharply and checked with GEE TEE JOKER and IZZYOTIC.  AIR RAIDER and BOB’S JOKER both raced wide around the home turn.

 

Race 2 – Maiden Heat 2 407m

IN JUDES KEEPING was slow to begin.  Near the catching pen GUN’S N ROSIE shifted in and checked LAKODA VIPER.  LAKODA VIPER raced wide in the early and middle stages of the race.

 

IN JUDES KEEPING was vet checked and no apparent injury was found.

 

Race 3 – Novice 407m

KOTA MAY and DIXIE FERNANDO were both slow to begin. NICKO FERNANDO and AKUMA TREBLE raced wide in the early and middle stages of the race. KOTA MAY raced wide for the second half of the race.

 

Race 4 – 5th Grade 407m

LAKODA MAGIC was slow to begin.  Near the catching pen LIVY’S BEACH shifted out and checked CHUCK A BOMB forcing CHUCK A BOMB to shift out sharply and check heavily with READY TO WIN.  CHUCK A BOMB and READY TO WIN both lost ground.  SWEET WILLOW and CHUCK A BOMB checked on the home turn and both greyhounds lost ground.  READY TO WIN raced wide throughout the race.

 

LIVY’S BEACH was vet checked and no apparent was found.

 

Trainer P Sear was fined $50 for carrying his greyhound towards the boxes. This action was observed by stewards before the start of the race.

 

Race 5 – 5th Grade 407m

PERFECT MUM, HALFA and OVERDRIVE SPEED were all slow to begin.  Near the catching pen VELOCITY ECLIPSE shifted out and checked with RED GUN and OVERDRIVE SPEED resulting in RED GUN falling.  In the back straight PERFECT MUM shifted out and checked heavily with VELOCITY ECLIPSE and HALFA.  As a result of this incident PERFECT MUM fell and HALFA lost considerable ground.  On entering the home straight PERFECT MUM who had fell has reentered the race by crossing through the centre of the track.  PERFECT MUM has not interfered with any other greyhounds when rejoined the race in sixth position.  Stewards declared that PERFECT MUM failed to finish the event due to the cutting across the centre of the track.

 

PERFECT MUM, HALFA and OVERDRIVE SPEED were all vet checked but no apparent injuries were found.

 

RED GUN was vet checked and was found to have sustained a near side stifle injury and was suspended for a period of 21 days.

 

Race 6 – 4th Grade 407m

GENTLE JOAN was slow to begin.  Near the catching pen WHAT MAGIC crossed VELOCITY ANNE.  SHAYLOR BACARDI and SHE’S SO CLASSY both raced wide throughout the race.

 

Race 7 – 4th Grade 407m

VALENTINE RAY was slow to begin.  Near the catching pen BUSBY shifted out and checked with PACIFIC SPRING and RAPTIS causing PACIFIC SPRING and RAPTIS to lose ground.  Shortly after the catching pen COSMIC CYCLONE broke down and failed to finish the event.

 

COSMIC CYCLONE was vet checked and was found to have sustained a broken off side hock and was humanely euthanised.

 

Race 8 – Best 8 407m

LAKODA LOCHIE was slow to begin.  Near the catching pen KELLER BEACH checked with DYNAMITE SPEED causing DYNAMITE SPEED to lose ground.  WILDASH WILDFIRE and MAKE THE SWITCH both raced wide throughout the race.

 

Race 9 – 5th Grade 407m

WILDASH REV was slow to begin.  Near the 630m boxes WILDASH REV shifted out and checked MARINA’S PRINCE causing MARINA’S PRINCE to lose ground.

 

Race 10 – Masters 407m

TROPICAL SANDS and PAR DE FIR were slow to begin.  ICKLE PICKLE and PAR DE FIR both raced wide throughout the race.  SUPERCELL raced wide for the second half of the race.
