VETERINARY EXAMINATIONS

 

The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

 

Race 3             PEEWEE JEANETTE

GENERAL

 

Race meeting was abandoned by Stewards at 7.52pm due to the risk of people or greyhounds being struck by lightning and ongoing heavy rain.  Track had washouts at the 407 and 510m boxes.

 

Race 1 – Maiden Heat 1 407m

Shortly after the start DREAM OF SPEED shifted out and checked ROMELDA.  PERCY’S THRONE raced wide through the catching pen and in the home straight.  SAVANNAH’S GIRL raced extremely wide around the home turn.

 

Race 2 – Maiden Heat 2 407m

Shortly after the start HARDAWAY HOLLY shifted out and caused interference to LITTLE BUMP and LAKODA VIPER causing these greyhounds to check and lose ground.  LITTLE BUMP and CASEY’S BEACH raced tightly at the rear of the field in the back straight. LITTLE BUMP raced wide around the home turn.

 

Race 3 – Novice 407m

FARMOR GREENIES shifted out near the catching pens and checked TIPPETT AND RUN and FARMOR EL DORADO causing FARMOR EL DORADO to lose ground.  DIXIE FERNANDO and PEEWEE JEANETTE checked in the back straight causing PEEWEE JEANETTE to fall.  TOP EARNER raced wide around the home turn.

 

PEEWEE JEANETTE was vetted and no apparent injury was found
