Rockhampton Greyhounds

Weather: Fine

General:

·       Stewards spoke with trainer Dallas Becket regarding his actions during kennelling in the yard with the greyhound Bank Heist

·       At the conclusion of race 4 due to localised storm activity stewards deliberated and pushed back the remainder of the program by one race. After this the storms intensified, and the track was washed out in the back straight.  Stewards deemed it was unsafe for racing due to track conditions and on advice from the track curator, remedial measures would not be able to be performed within a reasonable period and the decision was made to abandon the meeting.

Race 1 - GARRARD'S HORSE AND HOUND MAIDEN 407m

 

4 Magani – Slowed and deviated attention from the lure towards another runner in the back straight. and also slowed and deviated its attention in the front straight. A veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards spoke with trainer Mr Michael Boody regarding the greyhounds actions during the event and charged the greyhound with Fail to pursue first offence and stood down for 28 days at Rockhampton and must perform a satisfactory stewards trial.

 

6 Rosa's Wish – Hampered approaching the exit onto the back straight.

 

 

Race 2 - SKY RACING NOVICE (1) 407m

 

3 Tokin Beach – Slow to begin.

 

6 Counter Proposal – Checked exiting the turn onto the front straight.

 

7 Swerve – Tightened for racing room and lost footing exiting the turn onto the back straight. A veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

 

8 Silky Ripple – Checked exiting the turn onto the front straight.

 

 

Race 3 - TAB NOVICE (2) 407m

 

2 Tiger Mum – Checked shortly after the start.

 

3 Solitary One – Hampered exiting the turn onto the front straight.

 

4 Last Date – Slow to begin. Checked off the heels of another runner and lost ground around the first turn. A veterinary examination revealed a lumbar muscle strain and stood down for 10 days.

 

6 Shona's Fury – Shifted wider in the back straight. Raced wider in the front straight.

 

8 City Way –Slow to begin. Shifted towards running rail in the back straight.

 

 

Race 4 - DINKY DI WEB DESIGN MIXED 4/5 510m

 

1 Mean Pop – Bumped shortly after the start.

 

2 Bank Heist – Bumped shortly after the start. Checked off the heels of another runner entering the first turn. Checked entering the first turn. Checked exiting the turn onto the front straight.

 

3 Off Break -  Checked on the heels entering the first turn.

 

4 Deadly Choice – Shifted wider and checked exiting the turn onto the front straight.

 

7 Misunderstood – Checked entering the first turn.
