VETERINARY EXAMINATIONS

 

The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

Race 3             BOY DODO                          Injured in running, near side neck muscle, 10 days

Race 4             SHAKE YA TUSH                Injured in running, off side hind foot, 10 days

 

GENERAL

 

Race 1 – Maiden 380m

SMILEY FEE FEE and EBONY SPECIAL both began well.  BUCKAROO SUE and FIVE STARS came together shortly after the start.  Approaching the 1st turn EBONY SPECIAL shifted out inconveniencing the running of MIDNIGHT EDITION. GAP YEAR was wide throughout.

 

Race 2 – 5th Grade 380m

VAR MONTE CARLO and POISED TO POUNCE both began well.  SNAKE PROOF and DEMORIC FIT came together shortly after the start. BLACK DENIM was wide at the home turn.

 

Race 3 – 5th Grade 380m

BEACH FRONT and SCORPIO JAY both began well.  MORAN’S WEIR and MAYWYN’S JOSH came together on jumping.  Shortly after the start LONESOME MAX lost ground when tightened for running between MR. CRUSTACEAN and MORAN’S WEIR which was shifting in.  Approaching the 1st turn BOY DODO, when in clear running, faltered in its action and lost momentum, taking no further competitive part in the event.  At the 1st turn MAYWYN’S JOSH lost ground after improving onto the heels of BEACH FRONT.

 

The greyhound BOY DODO was vetted post race, and was found to have sustained an injury to the near side neck muscle, and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

Race 4 – 4/5th Grade 380m

WILDASH MONTE was very slow to begin.  Shortly after the start RHONDA’S TEARS lost ground when tightened for running between BUCKLED and SHAKE YA TUSH which was shifting in.  General interference at the 1st turn resulted in BUCKLED, RHONDA’S TEARS, SHAKE YA TUSH, EUNICE LILLIAN and ON DECK all being severely checked and losing significant ground.  WILDASH MONTE was wide at the home turn.

 

The greyhound SHAKE YA TUSH was vetted post race, and was found to have sustained an injury to the off side hind foot, and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

Race 5 – 4th Grade 380m

SUPERMAC was best to begin.  At the 1st turn WINFIELD ROCKY was inconvenienced after improving onto the heels of ABBI’S PRINCESS.  WIND TRACKER and MINGELA COSMO were both wide throughout.

 

Race 6 – Best 8 380m

PHOTO BOOTH, DIVVY UP and SINDARYN all began well.  At the 1st turn SINDARYN shifted in severely checking the running of DIVVY UP and PHOTO BOOTH.  Both greyhounds lost significant ground.  ARLANDRIA and GUNNADOO RACER which were following were also severely checked.

 

Race 7 – Open 498m

CUT OUT PASS was best to begin.  Shortly after the start DEBORAH ROSE shifted in across the running of BLUE HOUDINI which was inconvenienced.  At the 1st turn PRIVATE TALK shifted in tightening the running of POST BOX and AVONDALE TARA.  Both greyhounds lost ground. POST BOX and BLUE HOUDINI were both wide in the back straight.
