The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury

Race 1 RHONDA’S RAVEN Performance bordering on unsatisfactory

GENERAL

Race 1 – Maiden 380m

PETITE MAGIC was best to begin. RHONDA’S RAVEN was very slowly away. Approaching the top turn FREAKS AT and PETITE MAGIC both lost ground when tightened for running by WILDASH WHISPER which was shifting in. MAGIC CHAOS which was following was also inconvenienced and raced wide. Soon after FREAKS AT shifted out across the running of PETITE MAGIC which lost further ground as a result.

The greyhound RHONDA’S RAVEN was vetted post race and no abnormalities were detected. Trainer Ms. R Goodwin was advised that a warning would be placed on the greyhound RHONDA’S RAVEN for performance bordering on unsatisfactory.

Race 2 – Novice 380m

EXPRESS PASS, BRIGHT DEBREE and DEMORIC FIT all dwelt at the start. Approaching the top turn MIDNIGHT EDITION shifted in severely checking the running of WHERE’S BLOCKER and MANCHU WOK. As a result of this incident WHERE’S BLOCKER lost significant ground and MANCHU WOK fell taking no further competitive part in the event. EXPRESS PASS, BRIGHT DEBREE, DEMORIC FIT and EBONY SPECIAL which were following were also checked to varying degrees. At the home turn EXPRESS PASS shifted out inconveniencing the running of EBONY SPECIAL. Approaching the winning post KEWIN UP shifted in across the running of MIDNIGHT EDITION.

The greyhound MANCHU WOK was vetted post race and was found to have sustained injuries to its back muscle and both wrists and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

Race 3 – 5^th Grade 498m

SOMETHING BAD and OBLIVION both began well. Soon after the start SCORPIO Jay and KNOCK THE TOP came together. KNOCK THE TOP lost ground as a result. Leaving the catching pen OBLIVION shifted in checking the running of COSMIC FREEZE. Entering the back straight LISTEN shifted out checking the running of SCOTTISH CLAN which lost significant ground.

Race 4 – 4/5^th Grade 498m

Even start. Soon after the start GUNNADOO DELTA lost ground when tightened for running between BEACH FRONT and RAILROAD ROCKET both of which were shifting ground. Entering the catching pen MINGELA COSMO shifted in checking the running of KLONDIKE RUSH which lost ground. Approaching the top turn MINGELA COSMO shifted in severely checking the running of GUNNADOO DELTA. At the home turn MINGELA COSMO shifted out across the running of POWER CELL which was inconvenienced.

Race 5 – 4/5^th Grade 380m

JACK SPRITE and WILLIAM MAC began well. VELOCITY KYZON and LISTEN NOW both dwelt at the start. Approaching the top turn SAVIOUR shifted in checking the running of VELOCITY KYZON which lost ground. BENEDICT GEOFF raced wide through the top turn. Approaching the home turn SLEEPY MIME shifted out across the heels of BENEDICT GEOFF and raced wide. On straightening SNAKE PROOF shifted out across the heels of BENEDICT GEOFF onto the running of SLEEPY MIME. Both greyhounds were unbalanced.

Race 6 – 4^th Grade 380m

MOO MOO and BLUE STITCH both began well. GUNNADOO RACER dwelt at the start. SENOR AL was slowly into stride. WIND TRACKER raced wide through the top turn. EUNICE LILLIAN and WIND TRACKER came together down the running both greyhounds were unbalanced.

Race 7 – 2/3^rd Grade 380m

PHOTO BOOTH was best to begin. Soon after the start SEE SENORA lost ground when tightened for running between SAHARA DESERT and ALL BUT CENTRE which was shifting in. Approaching the top turn MAYWYNS MARTY shifted in severely checking the running of SAHARA DESERT which raced wide and lost significant ground.

Race 8 – Open Final 498m

LILLY BELLEBIRD which was a late withdrawal at 9:06pm on veterinary advice due to gastritis, was stood down for a period of 10 days.

BLUE HOUDINI dwelt at the start. Soon after the start POISED TO POUNCE and PRIVATE TALK both lost ground when tightened for running between CUT OUT PASS and ZAMBEZI ROCK which was shifting out. Through the catching pen BIG BAD TOM shifted in onto the running of CUT OUT PASS, ZAMBEZI ROCK, POISED TO POUNCE and PRIVATE TALK. All 4 greyhounds were checked to varying degrees. POISED TO POUNCE was wide in the back straight.

Race 9 – 5^th Grade 380m

NANIERNA began well. LAID BACK LAD and BLACK PEPPERCORN were both slowly into stride. Soon after the start BLACK PEPPERCORN checked out across the heels of VERY SPRITELY. Approaching the top turn LAID BACK LAD shifted out across the running of VERY SPRITELY which was severely checked. LAID BACK LAD and BLACK PEPPERCORN were also inconvenienced in this incident. LAID BACK LAD and BLINGLE were both wide at the home turn.

Race 10 – 5^th Grade 380m

WILDASH MONTE and BELIMBA HUSTLER both dwelt at the start. Approaching the top turn BELLE SIND checked out across the heels of VAPOUR FLIGHT. Soon after VAPOUR FLIGHT was inconvenienced when improving onto the heels of GUNNADOO SECRET. At the home turn WILDASH MONTE shifted out across the heels of BELLE SIND and raced wide.
