The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

GENERAL

 

Race 1 – RQ Maiden Heat 1 380m

VELOCITY ONO, COOL REALITY and FEAR ALF all began well. MAGIC CHAOS was slowly away. Approaching the top turn ASA TOP AGENT shifted in across the running of TONI’S QUITE which was inconvenienced. Through the top turn WALLEN JOE checked out across the heels of FEAR ALF. MAYWYNS PING which was following was also checked. TONI’S QUITE and ASA TOP AGENT came together at the home turn. TONI’S QUITE was forced wide as a result. 

 

Race 2 – RQ Maiden Heat 2 380m

MAGIC WISP and MY ACHIEVER were both slowly away.  Soon after the start both MAYWYN MACEY and CRUSHED ICE lost ground when tightened between runners.  In the back straight MY ACHIEVER shifted in checking the running of MAGIC WISP.  Approaching the top turn BEHM when in clear running faltered in its action and lost momentum taking no further competitive part in the event.  Through the top turn MY ACHIEVER and MAYWYN MACEY came together.  MY ACHIEVER lost ground.  At the home turn KICKA TIN shifted out abruptly across the heels of ZIPPING BUBBA.

 

The greyhound BEHM was vetted post race and found to have sustained an injury to the off side external pectoral muscle and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

Race 3 – 4/5th Grade Heat 1 380m

CAPTAIN LONESTAR and SOMETHING BAD were both slowly away.  In the back straight ELLY NORA and MR. HOPPINS both lost ground when tightened between runners.  Approaching the top turn SOMETHING BAD improved onto the heels of SMILEY FEE FEE.  As a result of this incident both greyhounds were severely checked.  Soon after SMILEY FEE FEE shifted out severely checking the running of SOMETHING BAD, ELLY NORA and MR. HOPPINS.  SMILEY FEE FEE and MR. HOPPINS came together at the home turn.

 

Race 4 – 4/5th Grade Heat 2 380m

FULL BLOWN was best to begin.  Soon after the start VELOCITY KYZON lost ground when tightened between runners.  Approaching the top turn WHERE’S BLOCKER was inconvenienced when racing tight to the inside of JACK SPRITE.  Through the top turn BIG BAD TOM shifted out bumping with BLACK DENIM.  BIG BAD TOM lost ground.  HENRY JUDGE which was following was also inconvenienced.  At the home turn VELOCITY KYZON shifted out abruptly across the heels of BLACK DENIM.  HENRY JUDGE and BIG BAD TOM came together on straightening.  Both greyhounds were inconvenienced.

 

When questioned in relation to the seemingly improved performance of the greyhound FULL BLOWN Trainer Mr R Lound stated that the greyhound had met with severe interference at its 2 most recent starts and previous to that had been spelled for an extended period in order to recover from a severe achilles tendon injury suffered during a southern campaign.  Mr Lound also stated that in his opinion the greyhound possesses good ability and is now back to somewhere near its best and should hold form provided it can remain injury free.

 

Race 5 – 4/5th Grade Heat 3 380m

ON DECK was best to begin.  Soon after the start WINDTRACKER lost ground when tightened between runners.  Approaching the top turn KEWIN UP improved onto the heels of ZINGALONG SHEEDS.  Both greyhounds were checked and shifted ground wide checking the running of VAPOUR FLIGHT and WINDTRACKER.  KEWIN UP was wide at the home turn.

 

Race 6 – 4/5th Grade 498m

KNOCK THE TOP was slowly away.  Through the catching pen DEBORAH ROSE shifted in checking the running of LAID BACK LAD.  As a result of this incident LAID BACK LAD shifted out onto the running of STRAIT ATE.  Both greyhounds were unbalanced.  IGNORE THE NOISE which was following was also inconvenienced. Entering the back straight LAID BACK LAD shifted out onto the running of IGNORE THE NOISE which was inconvenienced.  Approaching the top turn KNIGHTS TEMPLAR shifted in checking the running of STRAIT ATE.

 

Race 7 – Open 498m

ZAMBEZI ROCK dwelt at the start.  POST BOX, STARZAR GOLD and ZAMBEZI ROCK came together approaching the catching pen.  ZAMBEZI ROCK and BLUE HOUDINI were both wide in the back straight.  Approaching the top turn POST BOX shifted in onto the running of ZIPPING CARLTON.  Both greyhounds were severely checked.

 

Race 8 – Best 8 380m

MAYWYNS MARTY was slowly away.  Approaching the top turn BENEDICT GEOFF shifted in severely checking the running of SINDARYN and GUNNADOO DELTA.  REECY GOGOLAC which was following shifted ground wide and in doing so checked the running of GUNNADOO SECRET and GUNNADOO RACER.  Those 2 greyhounds both raced wide as a result.  On straightening MAYWYNS MARTY shifted out abruptly across the heels of GUNNADOO DELTA.

 

Race 9 – 4/5th Grade Heat 4 380m

Even start.  Soon after the start COBBIN, THANK YOU POP and BRIGHT REBEL were all severely checked and lost significant ground when tightened between runners.  Approaching the top turn PRINCE OF DOOM shifted in checking the running of PACIFIC SPRING which lost ground.  Through the top turn BRIGHT REBEL and PACIFIC SPRING came together heavily.  BRIGHT REBEL was severely checked and lost significant ground.  PACIFIC SPRING was wide at the home turn.

 

Race 10 – 4/5th Grade Heat 5 380m

HOTSHOT HERO and BOOTYDO both began well.  In the back straight BUCKLED lost ground when tightened between runners.  Approaching the top turn CUT OUT PASS and BUCKLED were racing tight when CUT OUT PASS appeared to become awkward in it action and lose momentum taking no further competitive part in the event.  Through the top turn BOOTYDO shifted in checking the running of HOTSHOT HERO. MAGIC BEAU and SNAKE PROOF were also inconvenienced in this incident.  Soon after SNAKE PROOF was severely checked when tightened between runners.

 

The greyhound CUT OUT PASS was vetted post race and no abnormalities were revealed. Trainer Mr J Barrow was advised that the greyhound CUT OUT PASS would be charged under the provisions of GAR71 Unsatisfactory Performance and must trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to being permitted to race again.
