Race 4 Trainer Heath Ardle was fined $50 for No Catcher BLUE HOUDINI Rule 48.
The greyhound BRILLIANT EMMA successfully performed a stewards’ trial over the distance of 380m in a time of 22.05 seconds and is now cleared to nominate at all tracks except Cairns.
The greyhound BUCKAROO SUE successfully performed a Stewards Trial over the distance of 498m in a time of 29.30 seconds and is now cleared to nominate at all tracks.
PETITE MAGIC was best to begin. Through the 1st turn OCTAVIAN and TONI’S QUITE came together heavily. OCTAVIAN became unbalanced and fell taking no further competitive part in the event.
The greyhound PETITE MAGIC was vetted postrace and no abnormalities were revealed. Trainer’s Representative Mr. J Reid undertook to advise Stewards should the greyhound display any sign of injury or soreness in coming days.
The greyhound COMMANCHE was vetted post race and no abnormalities were revealed. Trainer Mr. A Camilleri was advised that a warning would be placed on the greyhound for performance bordering on unsatisfactory.
The greyhound OCTAVIAN was vetted post race and no abnormalities were revealed.
Race 2 – Novice 380m
FREDRIK was best to begin. Approaching the 1st turn FEAR ANDY shifted in checking the running of FREDRIK and ZINGALONG SHEEDS. ZINGALONG SHEEDS lost significant ground in this incident. Through the 1st turn RHONDA JOAN shifted in checking the running of REBEL DICTATOR and ZINGALONG SHEEDS. ZINGALONG SHEEDS was wide at the home turn.
Race 3 – 4/5th
Grade 380m
COSMIC FREEZE was best to begin. Soon after the start PRINCE OF DOOM and WILDASH MONTE were both tightened for running and lost ground. Approaching the 1st turn SLEEPY MIME shifted in tightening the running of WHERE’S BLOCKER which lost ground.
Race 4 – 4th
Grade 380m
SNAKE PROOF, BLUE STITCH and ON DECK all began well. Through the 1st turn FROM THE TAP and SNAKE PROOF were both checked when tightened for running to the inside of RAZOR ROSE. SNAKE PROOF lost significant ground in this incident. BLACK DENIM was wide at the home turn.
Race 5 – 4/5th
Grade 498m
POWER CELL and MR. HOPPINS both began well. Soon after the start MAYWYN OODLES and KNIGHTS TEMPLAR both lost ground when tightened between runners. POWER CELL and DEBORAH ROSE were racing tight and bumping through the catching pen. Leaving the catching pen POWER CELL shifted ground outwards inconveniencing the running of DEBORAH ROSE. Entering the back straight BELIMBA HUSTLER lost ground when tightened for running. DEBORAH ROSE raced wide into the back straight. Approaching the top turn VELOCITY KYZON shifted in checking the running of KNIGHTS TEMPLAR. BELIMBA HUSTLER and DEBORAH ROSE came together at the home turn. DEBORAH ROSE became unbalanced.
The greyhound DEBORAH ROSE was vetted post-race and no abnormalities were revealed. Stewards questioned Trainer Mr. M McGuire in relation to the seemingly disappointing performance of the greyhound DEBORAH ROSE. Mr. McGuire advised that he had expected the greyhound to race well in tonight’s event, but in his opinion it had been disadvantaged by having to race wide in the early stages and not being able to obtain reasonably clear running until well into the back straight. Nonetheless Mr. McGuire stated that he was disappointed in the performance and undertook to advise Stewards should the greyhound display any sign of injury or soreness in coming days. A swab sample was obtained from the greyhound DEBORAH ROSE.
Race 6 – RQ Young Guns Heat

SCORPIO JAY was slowly into stride. General tightening through the catching pen resulted in interference to the running of MAYWYN MACEY, LIBERTY LEGS, SOMETHING BAD and ROCKET’S MAGIC. SOMETHING BAD raced wide through the back straight. Approaching the top turn BRIGHT REBEL shifted in checking the running of LIBRTY LEGS. SOMETHING BAD and ROCKET’S MAGIC which were following were also inconvenienced. SCORPIO JAY and BRIGHT REBEL came together approaching the home turn. BRIGHT REBEL became unbalanced. SCORPIO JAY shifted ground wide on straightening.
Race 7 – RQ Young Guns Heat 2 498m
PATJACK LOMAR was best to begin. WALLABY JACK dwelt at the start. Soon after the start SNEAKIN’ ROUND lost ground when tightened for running. Through the back straight WALLABY JACK when in clear running faltered in its action losing momentum and taking no further competitive part in the event.
The greyhound WALLABY JACK was vetted post-race, and was found to have sustained an injury in running to the off side groin, and was stood down for a period of 10 days.
Race 8 – Best 8 380m
VAPOUR FLIGHT, BOOTYDOO and COOL SPRITE all began well. ALL BUT CENTRE was slowly into stride after being tightened between runners on jumping. Approaching the top turn BOOTYDO shifted in severely checking the running of GUNNADOO DELTA. As a result of this incident GUNNADOO DELTA shifted out onto the running of VAPOUR FLIGHT which was also checked and raced wide. Soon after ALL BUT CENTRE shifted in checking the running of IMPOSING SIND. At the home turn IMPOSING SIND shifted out across the running of COOL SPRITE which as inconvenienced. REECY GOGOLAC was wide at the home turn.
Race 9 – 5th Grade 380m
TOP END TORQUE and ODD SOX were both slowly away. RHONDA’S TEARS lost ground in the back straight when tightened for running. Approaching the top turn ELLY NORA was severely checked when tightened for running between ODD SOX and MISS GRAND THEFT. TOP END TORQUE, WILDASH PLUMBOB and RHONDA’S TEARS which were following were also inconvenienced. BOLD DEBREE, ELLY NORA and RHONDA’S TEARS were all wide at the home turn.
Race 10 – 5th Grade 380m
BUCKLED and HANK SNOW both began well. Soon after the start HANK SNOW shifted in tightening the running of TOKALON HOTSHOT which lost ground. KEWIN UP and GREAT TRIUMPH which were following were also inconvenienced. Approaching the top KEWIN UP shifted in severely checking the running of TOKALON HOTSHOT. Soon after KEWIN UP shifted out onto the running of GREAT TRIUMPH which was inconvenienced. Approaching the home turn VERY SPRITELY was severely checked when tightened for running between BUCKLED and TOPPING. PURE BEKIM and KEWIN UP were both wide at the home turn.
