The start of this event was delayed 5 minutes due to a power failure which affected the venue and surrounding area.

PEARSON PRIDE and ARMADA were both wide at the home turn.

When questioned in relation to the seemingly improved performance of the greyhound LISTEN CAPTAIN Trainer Ms. J Newnham stated that although she was surprised by the win, the greyhound had trialled well at home during the week. Ms. Newnham also stated that LISTEN CAPTAIN, which had a tendency to be field shy was suited by the outside box draw in tonight’s event and that interference to the majority of the field in running had also aided LISTEN CAPTAIN which had enjoyed a trouble fee run.  Stewards accepted Ms. Newnham’s explanation.
