RACE REPORTS

 

All races were delayed by one race due to the Sky camera operator’s late arrival on course.

 

1.

ANGLISS MEATS TOWNSVILLE MAIDEN 380M

CAPE DE BELLE was the best to begin.  ROCKET’S BUDDY was slow to begin.  COMMANCHE dwelt in the boxes and was very slow to begin.  A veterinary inspection of the greyhound revealed soreness to the near front leg.  COMMANCHE checked off the heels of DYNA PIETRO on the turn out of the back straight resulting in both greyhounds losing ground.  TAHNE’S PICK, CAPE DE BELLE and ROCKET’S BUDDY raced wide into the front straight.

 

COMMANCHE tailed off to finish a distant last.  Stewards acting under the provisions of GAR 71 stood COMMANCHE down from racing until the completion of a satisfactory trial for an unsatisfactory performance.

OLSEN FAMILY NOVICE 380M

PEARLING was the best to begin.  WANT MORE was tightened for racing room and lost ground in the back straight.  WANT MORE checked off the heels of WAYLON BALE and lost some ground prior to turning into the front straight.

3.

GSA BUILDING SERVICE 5th GRADE 380M

SIR REGINALD and MISS LARDIE DA were the best to begin.  COOL DE BEERS jumped awkwardly and was slow into stride.  STREAKS OF GOLD lost ground on the turn out of the back straight.  MISS LARDIE DA checked off COOL DE BEERS and lost ground on the turn out of the back straight causing interference to GAGAN NANCY.  WINNIE’S ROSE and COOL DE BEERS raced wide in the front straight.  Stewards questioned the racing manners of STREAKS OF GOLD in particular approaching the turn out of the back straight.  Trainer G. McDougall was advised that the greyhound’s performance was bordering on unsatisfactory and a warning was issued.

4.

AZZEK RACING 5th GRADE 380M

Trainer D. Preh was fined $50 under the provisions of GAR 48 for failing to have a catcher present for ROCKIN’ TONIGHT.

 

The start of the race was delayed 30 seconds due to interstate harness racing 

STILL WE BELIEVE was the best to begin.  KAPPOW was slow to begin.

GOLDLINKS FISH BAR 3/4th GRADE 380M

Even start.  BIG SAV and BEAMING BOUNCER bumped on several occasions in the back straight resulting in both greyhounds losing ground.  WILLY ROCKET checked off AMY’S ELITE and lost ground in the back straight resulting in interference to BRINDI CHOPPER who lost considerable ground.  WILLY ROCKET and BRINDI CHOPPER bumped prior to turning into the front straight resulting in BRINDI CHOPPER becoming unbalanced, losing ground and racing wide on the turn.

R & D RACING BEST 8 380M

Even start with BACK STREET BOY marginally slow to begin.  GO GWAN and USURPER were tightened for racing room and lost ground in the back straight.  GO GWAN checked off TOES and lost ground on the turn out of the back straight resulting in interference to USURPER.  FERAL CHERAL raced wide into the front straight.  MADAGASTER raced wide in the front straight.

TGRC ANNIVERSARY 4/5th GRADE FINAL 380M

GAGAN ELOLO, GO PRANCER GO, DREAM WEAVER and LOGICAL OPTION were all slow to begin.  GAGAN ELL checked off LOGICAL OPTION and lost ground on the turn out of the back straight.

CITY COUNCIL MAYORS TROPHY FINAL 498M

SLOW DANCER was the best to begin.  CINCINNATI LASS was slow to begin.  OLD MATERIAL checked off INNOCENT MAN and lost ground on the first turn after the start.  Shortly after ARE JAY DUREE checked off INNOCENT MAN and lost ground.  INNOCENT MAN raced wide in the front straight.

9.

LAWDORN FAMILY 5th GRADE 498M

Even start with BED OF ROSES slow to begin.  BED OF ROSES checked off NO NOT ME and lost ground on the first turn after the start.  Shortly after NO NOT ME and SLIDING DOORS bumped resulting in SLIDING DOORS losing ground.  NO NOT ME and BROTHER ROB bumped entering the back straight resulting in BROTHER ROB losing ground.

GRANNY GARROW 5th GRADE 380M

Even start with SKYE’S A FALLEN and MR. CANNA marginally slow to begin.  GOOD PEOPLE was tightened for racing room and lost ground shortly after the start.  NATTY’S ON FIRE was tightened for racing room and lost ground in the back straight.  GOOD PEOPLE checked off NATTY’S ON FIRE and lost ground on the turn out of the back straight resulting in interference to BELLE’S HAWKE and SKYE’S A FALLEN.

Even start with MIRA’S DJAY slow to begin.  NOT FADE AWAY and SLATER’S PICK were tightened for racing room and lost ground in the back straight.  HARBOUR REIGN checked off SILVER MOUSE and lost ground on the turn out of the back straight.  SLATER’S PICK checked across the heels of HARBOUR REIGH on the turn into the front straight.  HARBOUR REIGH checked off the heels of NOT FADE AWAY entering the front straight.
