RACE REPORTS

1.

ANGLISS MEATS TOWNSVILLE MAIDEN  -  380M

RACE 1 was delayed by 3 minutes due to a Thoroughbred race.

 

QUEEN VEEBEE was best to begin, with LEGS O’REILLY marginally slow.  CAPE DE BELLE and SHORT BUT SWEET raced tight causing both greyhounds to be hampered.  Approaching the 1st turn, KIOWA SHADOW, LEGS O’REILLY collided causing both greyhounds to be hampered.

2.

FV ARUNTA NOVICE – 380M

Even start, with RHONDA’S BEAR marginally slow. shortly after the start RHONDA’S BEAR and PREMIER SHAMROCK were tightened for racing room and lost ground.  In the front straight, BLAZIN’ BLUE and STRONG ENOUGH bumped, causing both greyhounds to be hampered.  At the same time, SILVER WEASEL and PREMIER SHAMROCK collided, causing both greyhounds to lose ground. Entering front straight, ISOLA BELLA and PREMIER SHAMROCK bumped.

 

The greyhound ISOLA BELLA underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

PEARL OLSEN 5TH GRADE (1) – 380M

Even start, with WANNEROO slow. shortly after the start, GOLDENPAW FLYER was tightened for racing room and hampered.  Leaving the 1st turn, NO THANK YOU clipped the heels of WICKED BROTHER causing WILD WISH, NO THANK YOU and WANNEROO to shift out and lose ground.  Front straight, DOUBLE KARMAR and GO FREDDY GO bumped, causing GO FREDDY GO to be hampered. 

 

The greyhound WHATTA PASS underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the webbing and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

MCGUIRES RACING 4TH GRADE – 380M

Even start, with PASS THE AMMO marginally slow.  In the 1st turn, MISS LARDIE DA was tightened for racing room, checking MANHATTAN MAID and PASS THE AMMO, causing PASS THE AMMO and MANHATTAN MAID to lose ground.  Approaching the turn into the front straight, MANHATTAN MAID, AKABORU and BLACK RUSSIAN collide, causing all  greyhounds to lose ground.

QUALITY TIMBERS MAREEBA MIXED 3/4  - 380M

Even start, with SLIDING DOORS marginally slow. Entering the 1st turn all greyhounds except FERAL CHERAL raced tight, causing LODGEMENT, BURNER BANT, HARA’S SAM and MAGIC HARRISON to lose ground.  Entering the back straight, LODGEMENT clipped heels and lost ground.  Rounding the top turn, LODGEMENT and HARA’S SAM collided, causing LODGEMENT to lose ground.  Entering the front straight, HARA’S SAM and BURNER BANT bumped.

 

The greyhound LODGEMENT underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

6.

WATERS ABRASIVE BLASTING 4TH GRADE 380M

LICORICE SHOT was best to begin, with RUM RUNNER marginally slow. Shortly  after the start, BEAMING BOUNCER was tightened for racing room and lost ground.  Leaving the straight, HARA’S FLYER clipped the heels of RUM RUNNER, causing HARA’S FLYER to lose ground and give no further competitive part in the race.  Rounding the turn into the front straight, LICORICE SHOT and RUM RUNNER collided, causing both greyhounds to be hampered. 

 

The greyhound HARA’S FLYER underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the nearside front triceps and was stood down for a period of 28 days.

CAROL RICHARDS MIXED 1/2  - 380M

Even start.  Shortly after the start, BRINDI CHOPPER clipped heels and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight, INNOCENT MAN, WHATTA PASS and SLOW DANCER collide, causing WHATTA PASS and SLOW DANCER to lose ground.  In the front straight, BRINDI CHOPPER and BUNDY CUTTER raced wide.

Even start, with FARINGDON marginally slow.  Leaving the straight, APPREHENSION and FARINGDON both raced tight, causing both greyhounds to lose ground.

Best to begin was ALL FUELLED UP, with MR. CANNA marginally slow. in the 1st  turn, RHONDA’S DOUGIE clipped heels, shifted out colliding with QUEEN OF CAWDOR and LOTS OF TIME, causing all greyhounds to lose ground at differing degrees.  Entering the straight, ALL FUELED UP and JAY BAY collided, causing ALL FUELED UP to lose ground.

BURDEKIN VET SERVICES 5TH GRADE (2) – 380M

SPRING BEK and BIRR were best to begin, with HARTLEY POWER marginally slow.  Leaving the 1st turn, SPRING BEK clipped heels, shifted out and collided with BIRR, causing both greyhounds to lose significant ground.  HUCKABEE was checked and lost ground.

 

The greyhound BIRR underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

GRANNY GARROW 5TH GRADE (3) – 380M

WINNIE’S ROSE, PAPPA DOES MAMBO and DREAM WEAVER were best to begin. Shortly after the start, MAYWYN OPALS, MRS POLETTI and SALUDOS were tightened for racing room, causing all greyhounds to lose ground at differing degrees. Shortly after, MAYWYN OPALS clipped heels of PAPPA DOES MAMBO, causing MAYWYN OPALS to lose ground.  Leaving the 1st turn, MAYWYN OPALS and HARA’S HUMMER collided, causing all greyhounds to lose ground. 

 

The greyhound MAYWYN OPALS underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

Even start, with GREY GROUSE slow.  In the 1st turn, WORTHY MOMENT clipped heels. shifted out and collided with GREY GROUSE, causing both greyhounds to lose ground. Entering the front straight, CHEEKY KAYA, NO NOT ME and WICKED ASSASSIN collided, causing all greyhounds to be hampered.
