Race Reports

 

Race 1 – ALLRIG LIFTING & ENGINEERING NOVICE – 380M

 

STRONG ENOUGH was the best to begin.

 

LEGS O’REILLY was tightened for racing room and lost ground shortly after the start.

 

KING GUTHO shifted out on the turn into the front straight forcing LEGS O’REILLY to race wide.

 

Race 2 – LOUNDS FRESH SEAFOOD 5TH GRADE (1) – 380M

 

DESTINI TORPEDO was the best to begin.  NEXT was slow to begin.

 

JACK ADDI and MAYWYN OFTEN bumped on the turn out of the back straight resulting in MAYWYN AFTER losing ground.

 

Race 3 – ACCELL THERAPY NQ SPRINT OPEN HEAT 1 – 380M

 

Even start with BRINDI CHOPPER slow to begin.

 

ROCKIN’ TONIGHT and MADAGASTER were tightened for racing room and lost ground in the back straight.

 

KENNA and RONRAY FLAME bumped on the turn into the front straight resulting in both greyhounds becoming unbalanced.

 

ROCKIN’ TONIGHT bumped MADAGASTER entering the front straight.

 

ROCKIN’ TONIGHT shifted out in the front straight causing some inconvenience to RONRAY FLAME.

 

Race 4 – ACELL THERAPY NQ SPRINT OPEN HEAT 2 – 380M

 

Even start.

 

ASA ABBANDANDO was tightened for racing room and lost ground shortly after the start.

 

NOT A WORD was tightened for racing room and lost ground in the back straight.

 

RUM RUNNER checked off TOES and lost ground on the turn out of the back straight.

 

Race 5 – ANGLISS MEATS TOWNSVILLE CUP (G3) OPEN HEAT 1 – 498M

 

Even start.

 

General tightening occurred shortly after the start, resulting in LODGEMENT, DREAM WEAVER, SWAP ME and BROTHER ROB all losing ground.

 

ARE JAY DUREE was tightened for racing room and lost considerable ground on the turn into the back straight.

 

Race 6 – ANGLISS MEATS TOWNSVILLE CUP (G3) OPEN HEAT 2 - 498M

 

FARINGDON was the best to begin.  WILD WISH was marginally slow to begin.

 

HOT EMBER raced wide on the turn into the back straight.

 

Race 7 - ANGLISS MEATS TOWNSVILLE CUP (G3) OPEN HEAT 3 - 498M

 

Even start.

 

General tightening occurred on the first turn after the start resulting in all runners with the exception of SLOW DANCER and LOCH FREDDIE suffering interference.  SLIDING DOORS and RIMBA SAMBIA lost considerable ground as a result.

 

SLIDING DOORS underwent a post-race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 8 - ANGLISS MEATS TOWNSVILLE CUP (G3) OPEN HEAT 34- 498M

 

Trainer R. Thomson was fined $50 under the provisions of GAR 39.1 for presenting OUR STAR to race with a weight variation outside the requirements of the Rules of Greyhound Racing.  Subsequently OUR STAR was a late scratching from the race.

 

Even start with DOUBLE SPUR and WAYLON BALE slow to begin.

 

DOUBLE SPUR checked across the heels of CHOC LATTE CLOUD and became unbalanced shifting out causing interference to WAYLON BALE.

 

NATTY’S ON FIRE raced wide in the front straight.

 

Race 9 – FROST & SPARK ELECTRICAL MIXED 3/4TH GRADE – 380M

 

Even start with BILLY BOJANGLES slow to begin.

 

PAPPA DOES MAMBO was tightened for racing room and lost ground prior to turning out of the back straight.

 

BILLY BOJANGLES raced wide into the front straight.

 

ROCKIN’ RINGO and JAY BAY raced wide in the front straight.

 

Race 10 – O’REILLY PETFOOD 4TH GRADE – 380M

 

Even start with BREAKER CHARLIE slow to begin.

 

FANCY A BEER was tightened for racing room and lost ground in the back straight.

 

BANJO AN’ HENRY checked off the heels of MAGIC DOUG on the turn into the front straight.

 

Race 11 – BOHLE BARN HOTEL MOTEL 5TH GRADE (2) – 380M

 

Even start.

 

RHONDA’S BEAR was tightened for racing room and lost ground in the back straight.

 

RANGER DANGER checked off RHONDA’S YOGI and lost ground on the turn out of the back straight.

 

GOAT and BLUE MAX bumped on the turn out of the back straight resulting in both greyhounds losing ground causing interference to RANGER DANGER.

 

RHONDA’S BEAR checked across the heels of BLUE MAX approaching the turn into the front straight.

 

RANGER DANGER underwent a post-race veterinarian examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

Race 12 – MCP RACING 5TH GRADE (3) - 380M

 

Even start.

 

GOOD PEOPLE was tightened for racing room and lost ground shortly after the start.

 

NO THANK YOU shifted out on the turn into the front straight bumping BLAZIN BLUE forcing that greyhound to race wide.
