General Comments:

Stewards inspected the track at 17.00 hours with a representation of trainers, after Stewards had concerns in relation to track safety in particular the catching pen area.

Remedial work was carried out and a reinspection was conducted prior to racing.  All parties were satisfied with the work carried out and the meeting duly proceeded.

The Club was advised of the problems with the track and was requested to take the necessary measures to ensure the track is prepared satisfactorily for racing as the condition of the track tonight was boarding on unsatisfactory.

Stewards spoke to Trainer R. Reid in relation to an incident in the public area on Tuesday 3 December 2019 when Trainer P. Milani lodged a complaint in relation to Mr Reid’s comments.

Mr Reid was advised that his comments were inappropriate and bordering on improper and a warning was issued. 

In assessing the particulars Stewards took into account Mr Reid’s 40 year history in greyhound racing.

MALI’S ROCKET (7) – Bumped by another runner and fell on the turn out of the back straight.  Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

PRAWN BOAT (8 – Slow to begin.  Bumped another runner and became unbalanced on the turn out of the back straight.

CHERISHED (2) – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.  Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.
