General:

Due to Government advice around COVID-19, in accordance with GAR 51(10), the Stewards directed the Starter to box the greyhounds into the starting boxes in the following order, 1 & 5, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8 for all races.

Race 1 – ANGLISS MEATS MAIDEN 380m

 

2 Captain Pappa – Marginally slow to begin.

 

5 Goddess Of Speed – Tightened for racing room in the back straight

 

Race 2 – GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND 5PW 380m

 

2 Tropical Flash – Slow to begin.  Raced wide into the front straight.

 

3 Nangar Breeze – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

 

6 Acquista – Tightened for racing room in the back straight.

 

8 Dr. Iris – Checked off heels prior to the finish line.  Checked off another runner after turning out of the back straight.

 

Race 3 – BURDEKIN VETERINARY SERVICES 5TH GRADE HEAT 1 GRADE 5 380m

 

2 Maggi Rose – Raced wide into the front straight.

 

4 Levy's Banjo – Checked off another runner and became unbalanced on the turn out of the back straight.  Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

5 Cool Dude – Slow to begin.  Raced wide into the front straight.

 

6 Lovely Maz – Slow to begin.  Checked off another runner shortly after the start.  Raced wide into the front straight.

 

7 Silver Weasel – Checked by another runner on the turn out of the back straight.  Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

8 Mali's Missile – Checked off another runner on the turn into the front straight.

 

Race 4 – BOHLE BARN HOTEL MOTEL GRADE 5 498m

 

2 Just For Jake – Slow to begin.

 

3 Into Thin Air – Bumped by another runner on the turn into the back straight.  Checked off another runner on the turn into the back straight.  Checked off another runner prior to entering the back straight.  Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.  Trainer was advised that the performance of the greyhound tonight was bordering on unsatisfactory.  When asked of his intentions in relation to the greyhound the trainer stated that he would persevere with the greyhound and start it in a 380m race before assessing the future racing career of the greyhound.

 

4 Tears To Glory – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

 

6 Provoker – Bumped by another runner on the turn into the back straight.  Bumped several times by another runner entering the front straight.

 

7 Queen Villa – Bumped another runner several times entering the front straight.

 

Race 5 – TAB MIXED 3/4 380m

 

1 Clover Lee – Slow to begin.  Checked by another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

 

2 Thannhauser – Slow to begin.

 

3 Gaz's Girl – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

 

5 Carrow Road – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

 

9 Vegas Rose (4) – Tightened for racing room in the back straight.

 

Race 6 – CHEAPA AUTO SPARES MIXED 4/5 643m

 

The Stewards delayed the ‘ALL CLEAR’ to view the film of the race in particular the start While it appeared that the starting boxes opened too early due to a manual start Stewards deemed that no greyhound was advantaged or disadvantaged or duly affected by the early opening of the boxes and subsequently the ‘ALL CLEAR’ was semaphored.

 

1 Shake The Paint – Bumped another runner on the turn out of the front straight.  Lost ground on the turn into the back straight.  Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.  Trainer was advised that the performance of the greyhound tonight was bordering on unsatisfactory.  The trainer was advised not to start the greyhound from 643m until satisfied that the greyhound will perform in the desired manner.

 

6 Salaam – Bumped another runner on the turn out of the front straight.

 

Race 7 – TOWNSVILLE GRAND PRIX HEAT 1 OPEN 498m

 

5 Fireball Sam – Tightened for racing room on the turn into the front straight.  Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injuries were found.

 

7 Rocket Jax – Tightened for racing room on the turn into the front straight.

 

8 Sprightly Bro – Checked off another runner in the back straight.

 

Race 8 – TOWNSVILLE GRAND PRIX HEAT 2 OPEN 498m

4 Finito Show – Checked off heels on the turn out of the back straight.

 

5 Convict Cullen – Knuckled over and lost ground on the turn into the back straight appearing injured.  Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained an injury to the near hind muscle and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

6 Flyin' Scarlett – Raced wide into the front straight.

 

8 Midnight Memphis – Checked by another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

 

 

Race 9 – G.B.D CONCRETE SERVICES 5TH GRADE HEAT 2 GRADE 5 380m

 

Trainer C. Pickard was fined $50 under the provisions of GAR 39.3 for presenting Axel Boy Jose to race with a weight variation outside the requirements of the Rules of Greyhound Racing.  Subsequently Axel Boy Jose was a late scratching from the race.

 

2 Krisbar Wee Wow – Slow to begin.  Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

 

5 Olspen – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

 

7 Make A Sound – Raced wide into the front straight.

 

8 Prawn Boat – Raced wide into the front straight.

 

Race 10 – METROLL 5TH GRADE HEAT 3 GRADE 5 380m

 

1 Don't Tell Pappa – Checked off heels on the turn into the front straight.

 

3 Proclaimer – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

 

4 Well Indeed – Tightened for racing room in the back straight.  Raced wide into the front straight.

 

5 Reign Hail Shine – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

 

9 Silver Lining (2) – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.

 

Race 11 – DAN THE PAINTER MAN 5TH GRADE HEAT 4 GRADE 5 380m

 

2 Georgia Pie – Tightened for racing room in the back straight.

 

3 Westmead Warrior – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.  Bumped another runner on the turn into the front straight.

 

4 Hara's Slade – Bumped another runner entering the front straight.

 

6 Remarkable Rose – Checked off another runner on the turn out of the back straight.  Bumped another runner on the turn into the front straight.

 

8 Loose Lips Jack – Lost ground as the start was effected.  Bumped another runner entering the front straight.
