Race 1: BOOKIES BENCHMARK 45 HANDICAP – 1000 Metres
SAINT NO MORE – Was declared a late scratching 1.01pm on veterinary advice after breaking through the front of the barriers and working strongly for some distance. On the announcement of correct weight all monies invested on SAINT NO MORE was ordered to be refunded with deductions of eight cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets and eight cents in the dollar on the face value of all place bets to be applicable.Due to extenuatingcircumstances stewards took no further action.
MISS TITTLE TAT – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
SOLOMON – Momentarily tightened for room near the 1100 metres by ARROGENT HEART which shifted in when tightened for room by SOGNI which shifted in.
ARROGANT HEART – Shifted in near the 1100 metres when tightened for room.
SOGNI – Shifted in on the point of turn when improving forward near the 1100 metres tightening the running of ARROGANT HEART which in turn shifted in momentarily tightening the running of SOLOMON. Rider L. Morrison was severely reprimanded and advised to be clear of runners when shifting ground.
Race 2: ATHERTON TABLELAND AIR SERVICE OPEN HANDICAP – 1000 Metres
CUPID'S SON – Began awkwardly and shifted in bumping VERBALIZER.
VERBALIZER (NZ) – Shifted in on jumping bumping with CUPID’S SON which began awkwardly and shifted out.
CHEVAUX – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
LOUD NOISE – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
LUSHAN – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
Race 3: SERRA DRILLING RATINGS BAND 0 - 60 HANDICAP – 1200 Metres
HERVOR – Slow to begin.Rider dropped his whip near the 100 metres.
ACTON SHALE – Over-raced in the early stages.
WAR GENERAL – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
PURPOSEFUL MISS – Raced wide in the early stages.
HIGH ADVICE – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
SIZZLING SUN – Stewards will inquire into the reason why SIZZLING SUN appeared to blunder dislodging rider N. Nelson near the 700 metres. Ms Nelson after complaining of soreness to her left foot was transferred to Atherton hospital for further observation.
LICKETY LACHIE –A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding identified the presence of blood in both nostrils. LICKETY LACHIE shall not without the permission of the Stewards: (a) be trained, exercised or galloped on any racecourse for a period of two months; (b) start in any race for a period of three months, and then only after a satisfactory gallop of at least 1,000 metres in the presence of a Steward. Due to the long delay as a result of a second ambulance arriving, race 4 was rescheduled to be run at 3.40pm and race 5 at 4.10pm.
Race 4: MAREEBA SHEDS & GAS QTIS MAIDEN PLATE – 1400 Metres
TROUBLE LOOMING – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
MAHISARA LADY – Slow to begin.
REDENZO ROMAN – Slow to begin.
ENDINAYE – Over-raced in the early and middle stages.
Race 5: TOLGA HOTEL CLASS B HANDICAP – 1400 Metres
MACH SEVEN – Slow to begin.
DEECATH – Slow to begin.
CANADIAN COMET – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
PROMPT REPLY – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
