Handicap 1400 metres

Prior to declaration of correct weight Stewards considered an objection lodged by T Brooker, rider of second placegetter DUYFKEN, against first past the post EUPHRATES (R Fradd) alleging interference near the 100m. After taking evidence from connections of both runners and viewing the patrol footage, Stewards found that nearing the 100m EUPHRATES shifted in abruptly taking SISYPHEAN in onto DUYFKEN which was bumped heavily on the hindquarters and became unbalanced and lost ground. Bearing in mind the length and a quarter margin, where the incident occurred and the manner in which both horses finished the race off, Stewards dismissed the protest and correct weight was declared on the semaphored placings.

The licence of M Wishart to ride in races was suspended for a period of 9 days to commence midnight 19th June up to and including midnight 28th June 2022.
